Chapter 110: Chapter 110
"Sister-in-law." Arya suddenly stopped in her tracks and called me on our return to the hostel after class. I tilted my neck and eyed Arya in curiosity, wondering what Arya wanted.
Arya's eyes shone mischievously, and she began to play with a strand of long hair. "Sister-in-law, it's Friday. Are you returning to the hostel or returning to brother?" Arya inquired, a wicked grin lighting up her face. Her neck tilted in curiosity, and she stared at me with crafty glints flickering in her eyes.
Originally, when it's Friday, I would return to the hostel and leave for Wyatt's mansion on Saturday afternoon, but now that I've gotten together with Wyatt, Arya wanted to see if I'll still be doing the same thing.
I glared at Arya in feigned displeasure. Does she have to ask such obvious questions? But isn't it the same thing with Wyatt? The cousin duo were both splendid schemers!
My lips broke into a wild grin upon scenting the familiar and unique sandalwood scent.
Wyatt's lips curved up, and he stretched out his hands. Immediately, I ran toward Wyatt and hugged him tight.
"Miss you." Wyatt proclaimed seriously and placed a kiss at the corner of my eyes.
My face crinkled due to joy, and I also nodded before concurring with him obediently. "Miss you too..."
Arya rolled her eyes and touched her chest dramatically. "I know I was the reason both of you successfully linked up, but can you please stop showing affection to a singleton like me? Even lovers are envious of your display." Arya grumbled dramatically in her tiny voice, interrupting Wyatt and me.
Upon hearing Arya's words, I swept the school surroundings with a gaze, and I realized that everyone had indeed stopped paying attention to other things to focus on Wyatt and my interactions.
Some had even begun to record and capture the moment brazenly.
"Let's go." Wyatt conveyed and patted my head twice, clearly unmoved by the gazes on us.
He wrapped his hand around my waist and easily picked me up. He helped my legs wrap around his waist, causing the crowd to cheer and whistle loudly.
My face reddened in embarrassment. I quickly buried my face in Wyatt's chest and shyly nodded to Wyatt. "Ok."
Wyatt smirked that signature playboy smirk of his, causing my heart to race and my face to flush. Immediately, dramatic sounds and cheers filled the school surrounding.
‘As expected of my crush, Beta Wyatt is so romantic.
Somehow, I really dislike Maia for stealing my dream man. But I can't deny that they both looked so perfect together.’
Wyatt placed a kiss at the corner of my lips immediately and calmly began to strode out of the school surrounding, carrying me.
My eyes suddenly met with Nancy's envious gaze, which was mixed with the cheering crowd. But the minute our eyes met, Nancy immediately broke off the gaze and turned to leave the crowd. I rolled my eyes, closed them, and stopped paying attention to her or the crowd.
Suddenly, Wyatt's feet came to a stop a few seconds after he began to stride. So quick? I tilted my head in confusion.
I raised my head and opened my eyes to see Arya holding onto Wyatt's sleeve while blinking her eyes cutely. Immediately, I understood the reason Wyatt stopped.
Arya lowered her head and grabbed Wyatt's right arm in feigned demure. "Big brother Wyatt, where are you going? Can Arya tag along?" She whispered in a soft tone while batting her eyes innocently.
A gloom surfaced on Wyatt's face, and he gave Arya a cold glare immediately. "Date. Find a mate." Wyatt replied coldly, and he strode away as soon as he completed his words. Not bothering to wait for Arya's reply.
I lowered my head and covered my lips to stiffen my amused chuckles, understanding that Wyatt meant that we were both going on a date and Arya couldn't tag along. Rather, Arya needs to look for her mate to take her on a date as well.
Immediately, a loud, dramatic bawl invaded our ears. Arya clutched her chest and pointed at Wyatt dramatically. "Wahhhh! How could you be so cruel, Wyatt Hayes? I supported you with all my heart, but you tossed me away as soon as you were done. I really, really hate you, Wyatt Hayes." Arya bawled and sniveled behind us.
Her figure was transfixed, which meant she had no intention of following us despite her dramatic wails. Wyatt ignored her and continued leaving steadily.
My lips twitched upon seeing Wyatt's luxurious car parked in front of the school.
I bit my lower lip while thinking that I needed to start getting used to the presence of Wyatt's luxurious car.
I tilted my neck and blinked in confusion. "Hubby, we're going on a date today?" Although Wyatt promised me a date during the weekend, I expected it to be from tomorrow onward, not today anymore.
Upon arriving next to the car, Wyatt's driver immediately alighted and opened the backseat for Wyatt and me.
Wyatt carefully placed me in the backseat before getting into the car himself. He wrapped his hand around my waist and placed me on his lap before lowering his head to kiss me gently. “En.”
Being so up close to Wyatt, I was able to take in Wyatt's impeccably handsome features.
But in the next second, my heart broke at the image I saw. Wyatt's eyes were bloodshot, there were dark circles under his eyes, and his face and body had turned lean, unlike before, making my heart ache a lot. Maia whimpered in pain and anger, immediately understanding what could have led to Wyatt's situation.
My eyes narrowed with fury, and I had the impulse to strangle a certain someone. Without hesitation, I knew who could be the reason behind Wyatt's condition. I believed it must be none but that stupid stuck-up jerk named Oswald.
I sighed and cupped Wyatt's face before planting a comforting kiss on Wyatt's lips. I secretly clenched my fist.
After the exam, I have to return home quickly and help my Wyatt return to his strikingly handsome and healthy image.
I stroked Wyatt's cheeks and laid his head on my chest to rest; Wyatt closed his eyes immediately. "Hubby, is he disturbing and making things difficult for you..."
Before I could complete my sentence, Wyatt's phone began to ring. My face wrinkled slightly, thinking that his number of calls had increased compared to before.
Quickly, I dipped my hand into Wyatt's trouser pocket and helped him take out his phone. I saw that the phone call was made by Asher, so I picked it up and placed it on speaker so Wyatt could hear the content.
"He ordered you not to leave the office without completing your workload. He's bullying you too much these days, isn't it?" Asher's worried and tired tone immediately drifted out of the phone speakers.
My lips pursed in a line, and I clenched my fist hard, trying to control my erratic breathing, which was a result of my boiling anger.
I'm right. That bastard is really bullying people too much. And the person who he's bullying with his authority is my Wyatt! That stupid scum Alpha.
"Completed." Wyatt nonchalantly replied in a drowsy tone without opening his eyes. I began to massage his shoulder gently to ease his tension.
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, trying to restrain myself from going berserk due to my overwhelming anger. I knew that jerk must have been piling up a lot of work for Wyatt to tie Wyatt down. No wonder Wyatt looks so drained in just a few days.
"You're taking this too lightly, aren't you? Once he sees you with her, we both know he'll go berserk and come up with sort of things, yet you have to pick her up in such a flaunting manner." Asher chided with a grumble.
My eyes widened slightly. That much? Oswald is really a heartless being!
"She's my wife," Wyatt simply responded, his words meaning that why should he care about any low-key or whatnot to pick me up? After all, Wyatt and my relationship isn't a shameful one, and we're husband and wife.
The more I heard everything, the more my heart broke.
Wyatt had been going through such an amount of pain for me. What did I do to deserve such a man as him? I clenched my fist hard and inwardly promised never to let him down.
"He assigned you another workload and ordered you to return to the office, stating that all workloads must be submitted before noon..."
Upon hearing Oswald's new order, my face reddened in anger, and I angrily interjected, unable to hold it in anymore. "Is that bastard sick in the head? He shouldn't push people so far because he's the alpha of the pack.”
"Oh, you finally understand a little of what your husband is going through because of him." Asher sneered and quipped sarcastically.
Hearing his words, I couldn't find myself getting annoyed at him because I realized that he was only worried about Wyatt. Besides, Asher is right. It was because of the relationship we three have that Wyatt is going through this.
“Asher, it's enough.” Wyatt calmly expressed but I could hear the warning in his tone.
"Directing it at me for what?" Asher retorted in a displeased tone and cut off the call.
I sighed while worrying if Wyatt's action had made Asher also angry. I wonder if this matter will make Wyatt lose all his friends. "Wyatt..."
"Silly, it's fine," Wyatt interjected before I could say anything.
I pursed my lips, wondering how it was fine when he was going through so much! "I..."
"Do you believe I'll fuck you right here?" Wyatt suddenly said in a domineering, deep, and husky tone. Immediately, he lifted his head to show darkened black eyes.
Upon hearing Wyatt, I shivered in fear, but I tried to keep my cool and stay unmoved.
I know he didn't want to tell me anything, so I won't be worried, but I'm his wife. We should face every danger equally, not him facing everything on my behalf.
I took a deep breath, cocked my chin, and nodded indifferently, despite the fear coursing through me. "Do it and reply to me." I expressed in a calm tone.
Wyatt smirked wickedly, and his whole expression darkened. Immediately, he reached out his hand towards my breast.
"Boss, we are here." The driver suddenly spoke in a tiny and fearful voice, interrupting Wyatt's and my actions.
My hanging heart immediately calmed slightly, and Wyatt withdrew his hand, his darkened eyes turning glazed immediately.
