Chapter 104: Chapter 104

I took a deep breath and began to dive into the forest to find a rogue to fight with. I recalled that Rex had always been the one to effortlessly do such, but now I have to get used to fighting without him, isn't it?

I looked up to the sky to blink rapidly. Perhaps, I might also need to get used to never seeing him again.

I paused in my tracks and stared into the distance where Rex's figure disappeared. I wonder if that led to the vampire's clan.

Vampire's Clan? What was I thinking?

I quickly shook my head to send the distracting thoughts away.

Even though I came here to practice, I ended up being unable to do so, due to the myriad of emotions that kept running rampant through my mind.

I inhaled heavily and plopped down under the tree Rex usually perched on. Hopefully, I should be able to…

“I've been wondering how outstanding the lady who caught his eyes was.“ However, I realized that she was just average. Just a so-so.“ A disdainful, tiny, and feminine voice suddenly sounded behind me.

The person clicked her teeth with her tongue and snorted. “Except for a beautiful face, what more quality traits do you bitch have? I couldn't see anything outstanding about the beta's wife.“ The person sneered and called the 'beta's wife' with disdain, clearly annoyed about my getting together with Wyatt.

The lady walked toward me and stopped a few steps, putting distance between us. She was dressed in a white mini gown; her figure was a bit tall, clearly taller than me. Moreover, she put on a blue face mask on her face, resulting in me being unable to see her face.

She scowled and seethed with hatred, her chest heaving heavily due to anger. "Why? Why do you have to exist? Why do you have to appear? He should be mine! Wyatt should be mine; we should be the couple having a happy-ever-after, not you and him. I sacrificed my whole life to stay together with him. We would've been a perfect couple, if not for your presence. Wyatt is mine! I'm perfect for him while you're just a nobody—a lowly werewolf. Why did you appear? Why do you exist? You're just a nobody worth nothing!“ She seethed in anger, her whole figure trembling.

I looked down at my feet and sighed, not knowing whether to cry or laugh about how things ended up. I came here in a bid to clear my thoughts. I never expected that trouble would use that medium to come for me.

I clenched my fist, hatred swirling through my system. It's enough that this slut from goddess-knows-where came over to tarnish me, but she dared to tell me, Wyatt's mate, that she and Wyatt are perfectly made for each other. Does she think I'm a pushover?

I have been looking for a way to let out my feelings. It turns out that a stupid person will come forward to be a sacrificial lamb; really great!

I crossed my legs, raised my chin, and leaned back on the tree cockily. “Are you done?” I retorted, and she parted her lips to say something, but before she could, I coldly interjected. “Coming over to spout a lot of shitty nonsensical words, you must have a lot of guts. Wyatt is my Mate; The Moon Goddess deemed the two of us as the perfect half for each other. Who the hell are you to speak such nonsense? Isn't it crazy how you sacrificed your whole life for a man, but you're unable to get even a speck of his feelings? So disdainful!” I taunted her with a disdainful sneer, purposely striking her sore point.

She clenched her jaw and fist and I knew that if it wasn't for the mask, she would have given me a death glare for touching such a sore point of her.

I don't know who this person is to Wyatt, but… Clearly, we both knew that she must have been someone who was secretly holding a torch for Wyatt, and in fact, this lady was worth nothing to Wyatt, or else he'd have considered her, even if I was his mate. After all, not all werewolves ended up with their mates.

Some of us actually go for the one our heart chooses rather than our mate. Wyatt is clearly not someone who is restrained by rules. So, if Wyatt likes her, he'll have gone for her and kept silent about him and me being a mate.

“You bitch! How dare you! I'm going to kill you!” She suddenly roared in indignation and reached out for a pocket knife I never knew was in her trousers and lunged toward me.

My eyes flew wide open and my face turned pale due to shock. My heart began to thrum against my chest due to petrification.

However, I quickly snapped out of it. I shut my eyes tightly and threw my arms toward my head to shield it before curling myself up.

Currently, I couldn't help but blame myself for being so stupid to let my guard down. I never expected that someone crushing on Wyatt would be such a psychopath. Great! If I didn't die, I fathom that I'd be seriously injured by the stab.

My body trembled, and my heart began to race faster. However, the situation unfortunately sharpens my senses, making me able to catch all the happenings in the surroundings.

As the second ticked, the faster my heartbeat.

However, after a few seconds, I didn't feel any pain as I expected. Slowly I lowered my shaking arms and opened my eyes to view my surroundings while trying to ponder on what the hell was happening.

The moment I opened my eyes, my eyes met mismatched ones. I quickly ignored them and looked toward my surroundings.

Behold! The masked lady was nowhere in sight. Instantly, I understood that she must have noticed Oswald, which was the reason she fled without hurting me. I let out a sigh.

My tense nerves slightly loosened, and I fell back on the tree, heaving heavily. Luckily, Oswald had appeared; what if Oswald didn't? I might have been an injured person, or worse still dead by now. The realization made me tremble.

For the first time, I appreciated Oswald's arrival.

Oswald bent slightly, and his right hand fell on my head gently, “Are you alright?” He inquired in the most patient tone I have ever heard him say.

However, my current mood wasn't interested in appreciating Oswald's switch of tone. Not at all. I looked at Oswald with a half-frozen brain and slowly nodded my head, my body still trembling due to the shock.

“Yes, I. I'm leav. Leaving. Thank you.” I expressed with a stutter and tried to stand up. Thankfully, my shaky legs didn't impede me from my actions, so I turned to leave, wanting nothing but to crash onto my bed and report the event to Wyatt. Moreover, to escape the surroundings and Osw...

“Running from me?” Oswald's deep voice suddenly sounded behind me, and before I could realize it, Oswald engulfed my body from behind and hugged me deeply.
