Chapter 85: Chapter 85

Unexpectedly, at the moment he lifted his foot, Shao Yuwei suddenly hugged his leg.

"When you take a taxi, I’ll also take a taxi. You can’t leave me behind. Grandpa Fu said you have to take me back."

Seeing her completely intoxicated, she no longer had the demeanor of a refined lady.

Fu Yinli frowned deeply, grasped her arm, and pulled her up from the ground.

Shao Yuwei took the opportunity to wrap her arms around his waist, refusing to let go.

"Let go." The warning was clear.

Shao Yuwei puffed out her cheeks, "I won’t. If I let go, you’ll run away."

With that, she tightened her grip around his waist, "What’s so good about her? Is she prettier than me? Does she have a better figure than I do? Why do you choose to favor her and not give me a chance, Yinli? I’m the one who truly matches you. I like you, I really do. I’m not just playing around with you."

In the dim light, the man’s broad face was solemn, his eyes deep as a pool, possessing a deadly attraction that could easily make someone fall for him.

For a moment, Shao Yuwei was mesmerized.

As their eyes met, she impulsively stood on tiptoe, leaned in, and kissed him.

Fu Yinli turned his head to avoid her, and pushed her away harshly.

Shao Yuwei fell to the ground again, her eyes instantly filled with tears, but she held back from crying out.

Immediately after, her chin was pinched and lifted, facing his oppressive gaze.

"In terms of looks and charm, she is indeed below you, but I just like her, all of her. Whatever she wants, I give it to her, and I won’t tolerate anyone bullying her. If it weren’t for the old man’s face, do you think you’d have the chance to cause a scene with me?"

Fu Yinli frowned, stood up disdainfully, took the car keys from Xiao Li’s hand, and drove away on his own.

Watching the car disappear from sight, Xiao Li looked helplessly at the person on the ground, then respectfully helped her up.

But Shao Yuwei showed no gratitude at all, shaking off his hand indignantly.

Xiao Li backed away, offering politely, "Miss Shao, let me call a cab for you."

At Jing Garden, as the car entered the garage.

Fu Yinli stepped out of the car with a frown, even before entering the living room, he could smell a rich aroma of tea.

Upon hearing footsteps, Su Lingzhi paused and looked up at the faint silhouette.

Across the tea table, the silence between them was broken when she spoke, "You’re back."

Fu Yinli walked over to her and glanced at the tea art she was creating, "What are you drawing?"

"A cat." Su Lingzhi paused, "Can’t you tell it’s a cat?"

But Fu Yinli’s interest wasn’t in that. He sat on the sofa behind her, then lifted her from the carpet to sit on his lap, "Isn’t sitting on the floor tiring?"

Su Lingzhi shook her head.

"You haven’t taken a bath yet?"

"No." Su Lingzhi suddenly felt inexplicably uneasy; after dinner, she had been finding things to do to distract herself, with no thought of taking a bath.

"Let’s bathe together." With that, not caring about her willingness, Fu Yinli picked her up and headed straight to the master bedroom on the second floor.

The second floor was a place she had never set foot in after coming to Jing Garden.

Su Lingzhi’s heart pounded intensely, unsure why he abruptly brought her to the second floor.

When the bathroom lights came on, Su Lingzhi watched him run the bathwater. As he approached her, Su Lingzhi instinctively lowered her head. When his body neared her nose, she faintly caught the scent mixed with the aroma of alcohol.

Before she could form her thoughts, he lifted her chin effortlessly, and leaning in, his lips drew closer.

Just inches apart, Su Lingzhi turned her head aside.

His kiss landed on nothing.

Detecting her resistance, Fu Yinli’s dark eyes grew deeper, gently turning her head back to face him, "What’s wrong?"

Su Lingzhi met his gaze with a complicated expression, "Where’s that perfume scent on you coming from?" Check latest chapters at ⓝovelFire.net

In a fit of anger, Su Lingzhi pushed him away and stepped aside.

Fu Yinli pulled her back, pinning her against the sink, "What’s the matter now?"

"Shouldn’t you explain something to me?" Su Lingzhi’s heart was filled with sourness, "We’re already together, you shouldn’t have any intimate contact with others, not even holding hands."

"Didn’t Jiang Chenglin ever hold or hug you?"

His words were like a sharp knife striking her chest, leaving Su Lingzhi cold as she stared at him, "Bringing up something from so long ago, you act as if I did something terribly wrong to you."

She clenched her fists tightly, gritting her teeth, "When I was in a car accident, you weren’t by my side. Now you’re behind my back mingling with others, yet you blame it all on me. If you feel I’ve wronged you, just end it. Why torment each other? It’s not like we can’t live without one another."

Fu Yinli’s brow furrowed deeply, forming a crease, "Just the day before you asked me not to leave you, and today you want to break up. What do you mean?"

His voice was low and forceful, as if suppressing a certain emotion, clearly showing his anger.

Su Lingzhi remained stubborn, "Clearly, it’s you who wronged me first."

"How did I wrong you? I have nothing with her. How do you want me to explain?" Fu Yinli stared at her, speaking with restraint, "Zhizhi, being sensitive is one thing, but there’s a limit. Don’t keep threatening to break up."

Su Lingzhi instantly found herself speechless.

But after all, there was indeed that person entangled with him, wasn’t there?

Fu Yinli felt some disappointment at her reaction, his throbbing veins hidden beneath the sleeves.

"You didn’t like the smell of cigarettes, and now you complain about the perfume scent, picking on my faults. Ultimately, you just don’t want to give in to me."

He released her in disappointment, his gaze retracting inch by inch, turning and leaving the bathroom.

Su Lingzhi stood there, feeling a sudden emptiness in her chest, inexplicably flustered.

Was she being too sensitive?

Su Lingzhi clenched her fists, shouting at his back, "My sensitivity is all because of you."

Fu Yinli’s steps halted.

As her words echoed, the entire space fell silent, leaving only the sound of running water.

Fu Yinli’s eyes shifted to calmness, and as he realized his own fault, a flood of remorse washed over him.

He turned his head, meeting that defiant gaze, his heart immediately felt uneasy.

After a few seconds of thought, he undressed on the spot, tossing his shirt into the trash can, then walked toward her, coaxing, "Still disgusted now?"

Su Lingzhi stubbornly looked at him, suddenly reaching up to hook her arm around his neck, kissing him hard, biting into him, reclaiming how he once treated her.

Not only did Fu Yinli not resist, he slightly lifted her waist to accommodate her aggression. The fiercer she kissed, the more he seemed to enjoy it.

The water in the bathtub spilled over, the rising mist blending the intimacy into the air, starting to unravel, ferment, and spread.

"Truly caught in your hands." The low voice came out, Fu Yinli’s throat burning intensely, supporting her as he took steps towards the bathtub.
