Chapter 63: Chapter 63
They had known each other for just over two months, his perceptiveness was even more intense than she had imagined, and she knew that no emotional response of hers could escape his keen eyes.
He wouldn’t let her retreat, but where could she retreat to?
Holding on till now, wasn’t it just to make that unknown factor become clear?
But as for him, he cared less and less about her feelings, saying nothing and only knowing how to bully her.
"Fu Yinli, if you dare to treat me so badly again, I will take back my affection for you."
Hearing these words, a shadow of darkness crossed Fu Yinli’s eyes, and he instinctively held her tighter, remaining silent.
As their body temperatures intermingled, they each gradually calmed down, with Su Lingzhi’s tears smudged all over his shirt.
Uttering those words made her feel uncomfortable too, more afraid that their feelings would end here, but there were some things she had to say.
"Yinli, don’t make what I’ve been holding on to become wrong. I really like you."
This was the first time she expressed her feelings so straightforwardly, filled with her love for him.
It was also the first time she bravely faced her emotions, regardless of their future, she had no regrets.
She raised her head, her fingertip brushed against his chin, and she gently kissed him.
Unknowingly, she forgave him once again.
As breaths were held, she was carried into the bedroom, pressed onto the large bed, drowned in gentle and strong tenderness.
His scorching heavy breath wandered over her body, but as he started to remove her clothes, the man stopped.
Fu Yinli affectionately looked at her face stained with desire, his voice hoarse and restrained, "When your eyes are better, we will continue*."
Su Lingzhi pursed her lips slightly, her heart gradually calming from his withdrawal, she nodded softly.
When reaching the living room for dinner, Su Lingzhi realized the servants were not there.
"Why?" Su Lingzhi asked.
"They allowed someone who shouldn’t have been here to enter." His voice was indifferent, his deep face revealing alienation.
Su Lingzhi quickly realized who the person he referred to as shouldn’t be there was, "This is the house I rented, shouldn’t you have asked for my opinion first before making such a decision for me?"
"..." Fu Yinli was momentarily speechless, his eyes showing a hint of indulgence, "What, are you planning to kick me out?"
"If you make me cry again, maybe I really will kick you out."
His low tone carried a strong warning.
But Su Lingzhi wasn’t afraid, "Why wouldn’t I dare?"
Seeing him at a loss for words, she didn’t need to look to imagine how awkward he must look now.
Su Lingzhi’s lips curled into a slight smile.
Just as food reached her lips, she suddenly realized something, and her expression froze.
"So, are you sulking because Jiang Chenglin came to Jing Garden to see me today?"
Across from her, Fu Yinli was silently watching her.
He apparently did not want to answer this question.
After not hearing his voice for a while, Su Lingzhi frowned, "Yinli, some things we should face honestly together rather than making me guess what you’re thinking. Would saying you are jealous really cost you a pound of flesh?"
"..." Fu Yinli was at a loss for words.
Over these past few days since he returned, it wasn’t the first time he’d heard her speak so offensively.
"Does it feel good to scold me?"
"When you bully me, does it not feel good?"
She buried her head, took a sip of soup, and got to the point, "When you’re not here, it’s just Jiang Chenglin and Xiaoxi accompanying me. He just came to see me today, and I’ve already made it clear to him that we’re just friends."
Once said, there was no response from him.
Su Lingzhi spoke, "Did you hear me?"
"I can’t see, so please don’t let my words go unanswered."
Fu Yinli responded, "In the future, no other men in this house."
Su Lingzhi was equally unyielding, "In this house, I don’t want to see any other women either."
After making things clear, the atmosphere between them became more relaxed.
The next morning, as usual, Fu Yinli asked her if she could see.
Su Lingzhi shook her head.
After crying last night and sleeping, her eyes were somewhat red and swollen. Fu Yinli frowned deeply, kissed her, and carried her to the bathroom to freshen up.
The household had new female servants, more efficient in their work than the former ones, attending to them discreetly.
After breakfast, Fu Yinli was ready to take her to the hospital.
Suddenly, two unfamiliar steady footsteps entered at the doorway.
A strong scent of rosemary filled the air.
As they came in, a gust of wind blew through, lowering the air pressure in the entire living room.
The man’s voice immediately followed, "Yinli, why didn’t you tell me when you returned to the country?" Dıscover more novels at NovelHub(.)net
Unable to see the other person’s face, Su Lingzhi vaguely sensed the presence of the opposite party.
Fu Yinli’s eyes suddenly darkened, standing in front of Su Lingzhi, instructing Housekeeper Zhao, "Take her to the backyard."
Being suddenly whisked away left Su Lingzhi feeling a bit puzzled.
She didn’t know who had come, or what relation they had with Fu Yinli, so she followed Housekeeper Zhao to the backyard without a word, though frowning.
Watching their figures disappear around the corner, Fu Yinli turned back, speaking in a low voice, "Uncle, why are you here?"
Fu Kuangzheng’s deep eyes held three parts ridicule, casually seating himself on the sofa, "I came to see you, why so tense?"
The curvaceous female secretary behind him stood by his side.
As he pulled out a cigarette, the secretary bent slightly, diligently lighting it for him.
A generous view was revealed from her chest, as if something was tainted.
Being part of the Fu Family, they all bore a similarly distinguished and noble aura. Every move seemed to carry a lethal charisma, and with just a slight lift of Fu Kuangzheng’s eyes, dangerous vibes seemed to shoot forth, disturbing the magnetic field of the room.
Only, his aura was mixed with allure.
Fu Kuangzheng took a drag of the cigarette, a red glow spreading.
He slowly exhaled a cloud of smoke, his gaze deep as he cast it upon Fu Yinli, "You haven’t even returned to the old house, it’s breaking the patriarch’s heart."
Fu Yinli took a step, sitting across from him, speaking in a mild tone, "I haven’t achieved the goal yet, I don’t have the face to see grandfather."
Fu Kuangzheng scoffed, "That goal was just talk, do you think the old man cares about it? He wishes you would come back sooner so he can hand over the Fu Family’s business to you."
The Fu Family’s business nearly controlled the economic lifelines of the entire city. With the lure of money and power, hardly any of the Fu Family’s younger generation could refuse.
But no matter how fiercely they fought, none could match the position his nephew held in the patriarch’s heart.
Not wanting to appear too respectful, Fu Yinli leaned on the sofa, unyieldingly meeting his gaze, maintaining a considerable distance, detached and indifferent.
Fu Kuangzheng changed the subject, guessing, "Are you in love and don’t want the family to know?"
Their amiable tone still brimming with probing intentions.
