Chapter 1086: Chapter 1086
Seeing that there was no good opportunity to steal the batch of Blood Spirit Pills, Fang Chen turned and left.
The pills were kept inside a Pifu Sand carried personally by a second-transformation Loose Immortal. Unless Stone Dragon and the others advanced to the second transformation, trying to snatch the pills from Yun Ding would be nothing short of a fantasy.
Fang Chen had just stepped outside and hadn’t gone far when he saw a streak of light flash into Yun Ding’s quiet chamber. Moments later, Yun Ding exited the chamber and flew off into the distance.
Fang Chen's eyes flickered, and he quietly followed.
In the reception hall of the Thousand Dao Tower.
Several figures were already seated inside, including the Master of the Thousand Dao Tower, the middle-aged man in a blue robe.
To his left sat an old man with a dark expression. His aura was no weaker than that of the tower master.
Besides this elder, there was another group of people present, though their identities were unusual.
There were two second-transformation Loose Immortals and four first-transformation Loose Immortals standing behind a proud-looking woman.
The woman’s cultivation was not high. She was only in the Dao Union Realm.
The blue-robed man gave them a glance before focusing on the old man. “Senior Brother, what brings you all this way?”
The old man snorted coldly. “What do you think?”
The blue-robed man feigned realization and smiled. “No need to be impatient, Senior Brother. The Blood Spirit Pills have already been prepared. I’ve sent someone to deliver them.”
“How much longer do you plan to keep deceiving me?” The old man suddenly asked. “You think I came all this way just for a few pills?”
“Then what’s the real reason?” The blue-robed man looked surprised.
The old man said coldly. “The Coldwater Immortal Flame. How long did you think you could hide it?”
Just as he said this, Yun Ding happened to walk into the hall and nearly stumbled. He quickly composed himself and approached the tower master with deference, retrieving bottle after bottle of Blood Spirit Divine Pills from his Pifu Sand.
Fang Chen's eyes narrowed as he observed from the shadows. "This atmosphere... it feels like an inquisition."
The old man’s cultivation seemed on par with the tower master’s, perhaps even higher in rank. His tone earlier had clearly carried a trace of reproach.
Fang Chen glanced at the group of Loose Immortals. “They’re also senior members of the Spirit God Sect?”
The blue-robed man smiled faintly and countered. “Senior Brother, the Coldwater Immortal Flame... who told you about it?”
The old man waved his hand. “Does it matter who told me? With something so serious, why didn’t you report it to our superiors? Luckily, I was the one who learned of it first and helped cover it up. Otherwise, you'd have already been punished, and you wouldn't be sitting here so comfortably.”
The blue-robed man handed over a jade box. “In that case, many thanks, Senior Brother. Here are some Immortal Crystals I set aside as a small token of gratitude.”
His face showed no emotion, but Yun Ding knew that the tower master must be seething inside. If news of the Coldwater Flame had leaked, it meant someone had planted spies within.
“I didn’t come for your Immortal Crystals. Forget it, let me make an introduction,” said the old man.
He waved off the jade box and instead smiled as he gestured to the proud-looking woman.
“This is Lady Suya. Madam, this is the younger brother I mentioned before, Song Zhili.”
“Greetings, Lady Suya.”
Song Zhili cupped his fist but did not rise from his seat.
Lady Suya nodded proudly. “I’ve heard of you from your senior brother. He said you might be of help to my husband. Is that true?”
Song Zhili smiled slightly. “May I ask, who is your husband?”
“Junior Brother,” the old man interjected, “Lady Suya’s husband is a True Immortal.”
Song Zhili’s expression changed drastically. He stood up at once, his eyes filled with shock as he looked at her.
Yun Ding’s reaction was similar, as if the words True Immortal weighed like a mountain.
Fang Chen was taken aback. “There are still True Immortals in this world?”
He had assumed these people were from the Spirit God Sect. But now it seemed the faction behind Lady Suya might not be related to the sect at all.
Seeing Song Zhili so stunned, a faint smile appeared on Lady Suya’s lips, as if she had expected it.
“There’s no need to be so shocked. My husband sent me here to ask for a small favor. If you can accomplish it, you may even get the chance to meet him in person.”
Song Zhili cupped his fist again. “Please speak, Lady. If I can be of help, I won’t decline.”
“It’s quite simple. My husband is cultivating a certain immortal art and needs to refine a unique existence, an anomaly.” Lady Suya chuckled. “But anomalies in the mortal world are rare and elusive. That’s why progress has been delayed for years, until your senior brother mentioned that your jurisdiction once produced such a being?”
Fang Chen suddenly had a bad feeling. Anomaly...?
He didn’t recall any anomalies on the chaotic star. The person they were referring to likely had something to do with Master Yun He or the old man.
“An anomaly...” Song Zhili nodded. “Not here, but on a remote star called Tuxiong Star. There was indeed an anomaly there.”
Lady Suya’s eyes lit up as she glanced at the old man.
He cleared his throat and said, “Junior Brother, help us out. Use some means to draw this anomaly out. This is your territory, after all, and Lady Suya knows our sect’s protocols. That’s why she came in person to inform you.”
“Our sect’s rules discourage exposing ourselves... it invites karmic entanglement,” Song Zhili muttered.
At that, both the old man and Lady Suya’s faces darkened.
“However... to serve a True Immortal would be a blessing. May I ask, does Lady Suya’s husband hail from the Lesser Immortal Realm?”
Song Zhili’s eyes gleamed as he stared at her.
Seeing that he wasn’t refusing outright, Lady Suya smiled once more and nodded gently. “That’s correct.”
“And what would I gain from this?” Song Zhili asked.
The negotiation had begun, an indication he was already halfway to agreeing. Lady Suya’s smile grew warmer.
“If you succeed, my husband can assist you in ascending to a fourth transformation Loose Immortal. You should know, a True Immortal’s immortal essence is far purer than anything you scattered immortals possess.”
Song Zhili was visibly shaken. He hadn’t expected such a generous offer.
Ascend to the fourth transformation?
If anyone else had made such a promise, he’d have turned them into a ghost already. But since this offer came from someone tied to the Lesser Immortal Realm, it carried some credibility.
Song Zhili cupped his fist. “Rest assured, Lady. I know what to do.”
“This is a Great Transference Immortal Talisman. When you force the anomaly to appear, crush it. My husband will appear, and everything after that won’t concern you.”
Lady Suya handed him a talisman. Then she smiled faintly, and in the next instant, her entire group was enveloped in a white glow and vanished.
