Chapter 31: Chapter 31
Jessy was sitting in his bedroom window watching the movements in the street. He wondered why Elsa still hadn't brought Sophia back, yet her presence at one of those social parties until this time was really unnecessary. He wondered if it had something to do with the famous alpha for whom Sophia was protected. Could this alpha also attend this party? Could it be to make the introductions that Elsa insisted on bringing a girl ignorant of the modalities of high society to such an event? He really wondered who this person was. Elsa has relationships with a lot of people, he doesn't know the woman specifically other than she's the one who killed his parents with her own hands, so identifying exactly who would be the alpha that would make her come take care of his protected even under the request of Tom, he dries up completely.
What is obvious is that this alpha must be very influential to allow the protection of Tom and Sophia despite the threats they had to face in the business in the face of Sophia's arrival at the tavern. But also attract the attention of Elsa from Soul Moon.
He may think about it, but nothing comes to him so he just decided not to think about it anymore. He's going to make it simple and ask Sophia directly. She wouldn't hide anything from him, especially since he has all her confidence in keeping her biggest secret.
She is going to tell him everything he wants to know and with the power of Sophia, it is obvious that their plan will finally come to fruition. He holds the right end.
He heard the entrance hall door open before he stormed down to meet Sophia. He has prepared everything for tonight, she certainly trusts him, but isn't it easier to get what you want from someone madly in love? He's going to drive this super-powered alpha crazy about him so that even though she's already destined for an alpha, she herself will break the bond between them and choose him.
It's a bit risky because he doesn't know what it would be like but one thing is certain, whether it's Sophia or her future alpha, neither of them has met the other yet and neither mark was carried out either on the side of the Luna or the alpha.
Before that happens he will mark her, he imagines it won't be easy but he has to do it and later they have put in place a substance that will help him in case his mating pheromones are not enough to subdue Sophia.
He smiled at his thoughts, with such a weapon on their side, their chances of success had just jumped to at least 40 percent. Just that!
He arrived in the hall to find Tom… Alone.
He frowned, turning his head in all directions. It's impossible that Sophia had already gone to her room, they would have passed each other on the stairs. So where the hell is she right now? Not to this party again, right? It's nearly midnight and unless his knowledge of those stupid parties has been impaired, by this time people have already split up, each going home.
He looked at Tom, who had poured himself a glass of whiskey and was quietly downing it. The man was as usual, stoic so he advanced towards him deciding to inquire subtly. Tom went out an hour ago and he thought it was to pick up Sophia but now he's coming back alone.
It's true he could have gone to one of their distribution warehouses but still Tom is not one to move suddenly, he would have talked about it and even if it had been an emergency, he would have told him.
"Hey hello."
Tom looked up at Jessy just noticing his presence before looking back down at his drink.
"Yeah."
He picked up the glass and drank its contents before grimacing as the liquid seemed to burn his throat.
Jessy watched him for a moment, he looked a little preoccupied, or something seemed to take over his mind. His gaze was distant, borrowed from a certain nostalgia full of sadness and Jessy frowned.
"Say, you have a problem?"
Tom rested his elbows on the counter smirking as he swirled his whiskey in his glass seemingly carried away by the blonde booze dance.
" Life is really a female dog… A fucking bitch."
Jessy crossed his arms with a scowl as he didn't understand a word of what Tom meant. He seemed deep in thought, carried away by bittersweet memories, but at the same time firmly anchored in reality with him at this moment.
" I don't understand …"
Tom smiled even more before he drank all the whiskey from his glass and headed for the stairs.
" By the way, Sophia went to live with Elsa. She asks me to apologize to you but she too was not aware of this sudden move. Anyway, it's not as if you won't have other opportunities to see each other again... Well, I'm going to go now, good night."
Tom left leaving Jessy stunned. It looked like a train had just run over him with violence and rage. He clenched his teeth with his dark eyes.
Only one person would have decided to make Sophia leave in this way...
"Elsa."
So that's it, she sensed his intentions and decided to take Sophia away. But what did she really know? As Soul Moon, her information network is very large but not enough since she has yet to find out what he and the others are up to.
She and her damned pack.
So if she pushed Sophia away it must be because she saw their chemistry and acting proud to protect the alphas from "varmints" as she calls them, decided to push Sophia away from him.
He sat down with an evil face, it's not good, not good at all. He has to find Sophia's trace quickly, he can't leave her with this woman for too long otherwise she will manage to make her change his mind.
Sophia is still just an easily malleable kid, if he is not with her or does not tell her what to do, he will lose his strategic advantage and they will not be able to achieve their ends...
He began to think about the best thing to do before looking upstairs.
"Tom."
Tom was in his room looking at a photo taken out of his drawer his expression was sad… He bit his lip before sighing. It was useless, it was the past, and she doesn't seem to care anymore. Not like him who stays locked up there.
He heard Jessy knock on his door and asked him to come in.
" I can help you ?"
Jessy smiled before speaking.
"Obviously."
