Chapter 133: Chapter 133
" Sophia"
Chad calls out to me as I keep glancing furtively at Greg but he's still so quiet making me almost sick with anxiety.
Why is he so calm? Why doesn't he say anything? It's not normal for him to be so calm and restrained when he has just discovered such a huge thing about me.
What? He should be screaming, he should be pulling my hair, and saying all kinds of hurtful words to me. Elsa and Rayan as well as Pamela should already be present dictating my sentence.
Maybe even the whole pack and even the others in town should be thinking about the cruelest way to kill me.
Ah, my head hurts from thinking too much about it.
" You should sit down."
I jumped at Greg's monotonous voice as I stared at him with wide eyes. He just talked to me? And asks me to sit down. For what? Certainly, he fears that I try to escape in the heat of the moment. That's it...
"He's right Sophia, you're shaking like a leaf. You must be very nervous, the events that have just happened have undoubtedly shaken you up a lot."
I looked at Greg a little more lost, does he still care about me? No, that's Chad's thought, just offered it for the reason I gave earlier. There is no other reason.
I nodded to Chad as I went to sit on the couch in the office's private lounge, the two men each taking their places in their chairs.
I looked up because Greg is in front of me and Chad to my left. Once I met Greg's golden gaze, I retracted, immediately lowering my head.
" We are listening to you, Sophia."
I swallowed at the sound of his voice, it was so cold I got chills.
" Well… I didn't know my father as you know, I didn't know anything about him and I lived a simple and quiet life with my mother in this small town. I can say that I lived a pretty carefree life…"
I smiled longingly at those happy memories of a stress-free life, hearing Chad chuckle next to me as I can imagine his thoughts.
Since childhood, we have known each other and have had experiences together.
Greg frowned, not at all happy that his wife remembered moments with another man even though they were part of her past. He cleared his throat giving her the tacit order to continue. He wanted to know why Sophia hid the truth about her from him even though he did everything to reassure her.
He knows it must have been difficult for her, especially with the hatred he has for the Shield of Rain, but he's implied so many times that she could confide anything in him and he would accept it.
He bit the inside of his mouth.
No, he wasn't very reassuring if he took it that way. He, therefore understands why she had to live so tormented.
" The day my mother died, we argued and I slammed the door... I still regret this gesture today, if only I had been by her side…"
" Sophia it's not like that."
" It would have been useless ... You would probably have been killed with her."
Greg spoke coldly as Chad yelled at him. I smiled in spite.
" No doubt... But I regret the way I left her this morning. She was just trying to protect me because she felt that my body would soon start to mutate to assimilate the lycanthrope part... The Adult of our species is 18 years old. And it was not wrong because that day, I underwent strange experiences then a voice started to echo in my head dictating to me to come back home."
"A voice?"
Greg rolled his eyes at Chad's question. He wished that this ball was not there to allow him to appreciate the story of Sophia without being interrupted all the time because of his uncultivated questions.
" The lycanthropes before uniting definitively with their lycanthrope part first have two souls in them, the human and the wolf."
" How? I do not."
"Sophia, continue."
Greg cut Chad off urging me to continue my story. I nodded, disregarding Chad's sulking.
"When I got home, it was in shambles and now I know it's because mom had to fight in her lycan form against her assailants. I found out she was a very powerful alpha so I imagine those who assaulted her must have done it by surprise and there were a lot of them. In her last words, my mother revealed to me the truth about my origins, my nature, and the name of her murderer…"
I stopped sighing before looking up at Greg.
" She said that she was hunted down and then assaulted by the order of the Alpha of Soul Moon, and it was also he who was at the origin of the death of my father to get revenge for the fact that she refused to marry him."
I pursued my lip as Chad glared at Greg.
"She asked me to come to Capital City to meet my grandfather to help me with the rite of passage to adulthood but she did not know that the pack had been banished. In my mind, I had only one thing, to get revenge on the murderer of my parents and I acted in such a way as to achieve it by coming to this city. Since my grandfather rejected me not forgiving my mother's flight, I found myself at Tom's house with Jessy who soon confused my mind, pushing me even more to revenge."
" Is this still the case today?"
I gasped in surprise at Greg's sudden intervention before looking down.
"No, not quite."
" Explain."
"I know... That you had nothing to do with the death of my parents... It doesn't work. But…"
" My father, yes... And you want to find him through me."
I bit my lip before clutching my clothes.
" I see... Hunter, it's time for you to leave."
" Pardon? Why should I do it? And my name is not Hunter I…"
" Get out, I want to talk alone with my wife."
I looked up at Greg as my heart skipped a beat.
His wife.
He still treats me like that. We indeed have to talk, there are things we can't discuss with Chad around.
"Please Chad... Leave us alone. You should go, I'm sure your colleagues are looking for you."
Chad clenched his jaw before sighing.
" But if there is anything ... Give me a sign."
" I will think about it."
Chad stood up glaring at Greg before coming to kiss my forehead.
"Take care of yourself."
I just nodded then Chad walked out Greg going to block the door. He took off his mask and looked at me.
His gaze is ambiguous, a little torn as I now feel more anxious.
I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out, then I felt my body seize as I found myself in Greg's embrace.
"Babe…"
I opened my eyes wide.
What?
