Chapter 110: Chapter 110
Greg arrived at the meeting followed by Rayan and Elsa. The two behind had already made the inventory of fixtures to Greg who knew now approximately how this meeting would go. He found an endless cacophony in the room but once he appeared, everyone fell silent.
They got up to greet him and as soon as Greg settled down, they did the same.
" Well, let's start this meeting."
Rayan shook his head leading the discussion.
" As you all know, we are coming out of a major crisis which is only the result of a series of delicate situations that the city has been going through for a while. We were already on the vanishing side of both creatures and humans, then a drug to the omegas gave them courage and excessive strength that drove them to attack the alphas. According to our research, this drug acted like a charm, making the omegas who consumed it aggressive and violent despite themselves. These automatically targeted alphas regardless of their partner. How and why they took this drug, the victims themselves do not know once the symptoms disappear. My opinion is that many consume it without knowing the real effects, and certainly that the drug is sold in places where they sell stimulants, alcohol, and simple drugs. I also think that this drug could be passed off as an inhibitor to fool the vulnerable omegas."
"Do you think it's a conspiracy? But what is the point of raising omegas against alphas?"
Elsa spoke up.
" I don't think that's exactly their goal. These are only guesses of course, but imagine that the omegas are only experiences to test the potency of the product to adjust it to the final targets. Understand how the omegas will react to draw valuable information for the future without being worried about anything."
People started whispering as Rayan spoke again.
" Which falls on the second point. If what we think turns out to be true, then the mutants we fought recently are the result of this process. The more elaborate drug must have been injected into them with stronger effects which led to such degenerate beings. According to the investigations, they would be humans. We are still trying to find out how they do it, but we also have to make sure that this kind of situation does not happen again."
Greg crossed his hands under his chin before speaking, his cold voice resonating in the flesh of those present.
" Some have fun wreaking havoc in this city in the name of an absurd idea. The most vulnerable are affected, the hunters had no choice but to get out of their observation position. Someone is having fun wanting to relaunch hostilities between humans and creatures. Whatever their goal, I will be clear about it. Blood and tears were shed to establish this harmony, on both sides of the species we suffered centuries ago to build a relationship of trust. The fanaticism of these groups to weaken these relations will not be excused. As Master of Lycanthropes and Alpha of Soul Moon, I warn anyone who thinks other people's lives are a game. From today I will show no mercy to those who threaten the peace of creatures. I thus declare a state of emergency and I summon all the packs to join in this hunt. The threat is real, it's not just the wandering rogues anymore, it's not just the Shield of Rain anymore, it's not some crummy sect of cranks, we face grave danger with followers in every one of our packs. We will have to contain them at all costs, not to neglect the fact that an alliance between these three groups has been formed, so be vigilant."
People responded in the chorus as soon as the other pack members left leaving the Soul Moons behind.
" Master, we wanted to talk to you."
Greg turned around already knowing pretty much the subject before sitting down.
" What do you want?"
The third elder stepped forward before looking at the others behind him. It was not just the three elders, but a few heads of large families present at the meeting.
" I allow myself even though the moment seems badly chosen to tell you about Luna's position… "
"Indeed, the moment is badly chosen, especially since it is no longer a subject on which to debate. Your granddaughter must have told you when she returned to you. I have already chosen my Luna, she will be officially presented to the pack during the big tournament which will be held soon."
" For this purpose master, we heard a rumor that she would be half-human. I mean you indeed chose her but…"
"It's not a rumor. My Luna is a single-parent lycanthrope. She is a mixed being and she is the one I chose."
" But master, the position of Luna of Soul Moon is far too prestigious for you to give it to the firstcomer."
"Since when did you become so arrogant? A pack that when I returned was in ruins relying only on their past glory, today you talk about prestige and honor. Know that no one can impose a mate on me. I already have a Luna, and it will stay that way."
" But master, we don't even know where she comes from. Her abilities and especially if she will be worthy of being by your side. It's the future of our pack that's at stake here and…"
" Are you doubting my choices?"
The men trembled before lowering their heads. But the third elder didn't want to give up.
" Master, I have an idea, I propose that this be settled during the annual tournament of the pack. Luna's position will also be at stake and the winner can stand by your side."
" How dare you…"
Elsa was flustered as Greg held up his hand to calm her down. He saw clearly in the game of this old man, he thinks that as Sophia is only half lycanthrope despite knowing that she is an alpha, it will be easy. He takes it from a height and wants to show that in this way, even though he is their Alpha, he could have been wrong. The dirty snake.
" The Alpha and his Luna have already united and marked. What you are proposing may cause them the spine."
Rayan spoke as the old man smiled.
" I'm not asking the Alpha to reject her, just to have a more worthy Luna by her side, if it's this girl all the better, but if it's another who wins then even the moon goddess will be on our side."
" It's insane…"
This man is counting on a fight to the death, that's obvious. He's not going to risk endangering their Alpha so he opts for a roundabout way to get rid of Sophia legitimately. He smiled, was he underestimating his Luna?
Greg smiled surprisingly as the golden eyes behind his mask shone.
" Well... So we'll do it this way."
