Chapter 3: Chapter 3

Emily wake up with a severe headache. She feels like there is a million hammer being hit on her head. She regret why she drank last night, it's really a good thing that today is Saturday.

She got up to bed with her both hands on her head still eyes closed. She groaned while heading her way to the bathroom. After taking a shower she then changed and heard a knock on the door of her room.

"Baby, are you awake." Her mother asked while knocking on the door.

"Yes, mom. Wait a second, I just finished taking a bath. I'm changing." She replied.

"Okay, honey. Breakfast is ready and I also prepare medicine for your hangover." Her mom said.

"Yes, mom. I'll go downstairs after I'll change." She smiled.

Her mother is always caring. Always thoughtful and always support her. She has a very loving and supportive family. She is so lucky to have them and she can't thank God every day for giving her such kind of parents and brothers.

As usual, everyone was present in the table and just waiting for her. They pray and eat afterwards. She offered to wash the dishes. Saturday is a special day for the family. Her parents really reserved two days spend just for them. During Saturday they will go out and go to church on Sunday.

Today the whole family will go to the beach. Emily will spend more quality time with her family now that she will leave for Spain soon. She have three weeks left before her flight and she will miss them.

Everything are all set and they just wait for her to finish washing the dishes. Her father insisted that she should just let the dishes but she declined she doesn't want to leave their house uncleaned.

"I'm done guys." She happily said.

"Finally, after one hundred years." Eric said impatiently.

"Relax, bro, don't be obvious that you're too excited." Emerson said teasing Eric.

"Someone's excited eh." Her father said makes Eric furrow.

"That someone is me, I can't wait to go to the beach." Cute Eleazar said.

"Well, let's go. What are you all waiting for?" Said Emmanuel.

Emily can't help but smile looking at her parents and brothers. They are not well off, but her parents still manage to give them at least time to unwind by going to the beach, or have a picnic at the park.

Going to the mall is not an option since they do not have that much money. But since Emily got a job she was able to treat her family once a month. She take them into the mall and buy them few stuff.

Now that she will go to Spain and have a bigger pay she will be able to give them a better life. That was all she ever wanted. Even if she won't marry anymore. She never thought of those things.

At the age of 24, she doesn't even have a boyfriend. She turned down all of her suitors. Her mother sometimes ask her about it. Emily just smile at her mother every time she ask her about her love life.

Of course, Kim, who is a love expert and professional at relationships always tease her. Saying that she will probably become an old maid. She just laugh at Kim and tell her that all she ever want is to see her parents having a convenient life and her brothers finished college with a decent job.

"Wow, it's so beautiful. White sand beach and a very blue clear ocean." She exclaimed when they reach the beach.

It is an almost 2 hour ride and 30 minutes ride on boat. Yes, they are in an island and it is their first time to go to a very beautiful island.

"Careful boys." Her mother warned her brothers who are carelessly going out of the boat.

"This is very beautiful in here honey. We should have spent overnight. It's perfect for honeymoon." Her dad said while wiggling his eyebrows to her mother.

"Shut up Eleazar Palma, Sr. your kids are listening have shame on yourself." Her mother said while blushing.

Emily just laugh while her brothers act like they did not hear anything. Emily's brother hate it when their father act sweet to their mother. They seem like irritated and saw a very disgusting scene.

"Dad, if you like, we will go home first and we will just leave the two of you here. I can arrange with the hotel of the resort. I think they still have vacant rooms." Emily suggested.

"No, we came here together so we will leave together. I can't let all of you go home by yourselves." Her mother exclaimed.

"Your mother is right, princess. I was just teasing her." Her father agreed but at the same time smiled naughtily to her mother.

The whole family had a very good time at the beach. They had a lot of fun and Emily was so happy seeing her family happy. Her heart was filled with joy and a bit sadness at the same time. She will be leaving her family soon but it is for their own sake. She needs to sacrifice.

They went home tired because of the long trip but they are all happy. When Emily was on her room to take a rest. Her mother and father approached her.

"What is it, mom and dad?" Emily asked.

"We just want to talk to you, baby." Her mother answered.

"For the last time we wanted to ask you. Are you really sure about this honey?" her father asked. He looks sad even though he is smiling.

"Yes, dad. I am 100% sure. I need to do this for us. For my brothers so they could continue studying and finish a degree. Also, I want to give you and dad a comfortable life. I don't want the two of you to work some heavy jobs." Emily said while holding her mother's hand convincing her that everything will be fine.

She know her mother and she seem hesitant about Emily going abroad to work.

"I'm so sorry honey. Your dad's a loser. If only I was able to provide for all of us, then there is no need for you to go far." Her dad can't help it and shed tears.

"Dad don't say that. You did everything for us." Emily said teary eyed.

"Honey, stop it." Her mother hugged her father immediately.

Then Emily hugged her father as well. Her brothers were watching them from outside her room and the moment they saw them they immediately entered the room.

"Cut the drama everyone." Emerson shouted.

"Group hug." Her brothers screamed in unison while running towards them.

The family then have their Palma group hug and laugh together that night. It was a long day for all of them because of their outing and Island hopping so they immediately left Emily's room at once. Emily had that bittersweet smile on her face while lying on her bed that night. She even cried silently but she comfort herself. Everything will be alright. She must do this for her family even if it means being separated from them.
