Chapter 40: Chapter 40
God. What is that wretched smell? Why do I feel like someone just poured a ton of bricks on me? Questions curl up in my mind as I try to make out here I am, the little lighting in the box room looks like the dangerous type of lighting in those abduction rooms in movies and the wretched smell hits my nostrils on another level making my senses go haywire. The smell of rotten flesh and the metallic smell of blood is enough to make me nauseous and enough for the food that I previously ate to want to resurface.
The rise of bile in my throat increases as I set my eyes on the appearance of the small room, claw marks are marked into the walls showing the struggle that others had to survive through this dreadful room. The horrible sight of blood on the walls and floor makes me hug my body and stand up and lean near but not to near to the silver bars.
I almost gag at the current situation I am currently in. The last image I remember is a pair of cold, steely grey eyes staring down at me through the mirror and the welcoming ceremony that was happening outside while the same man abducted me. I have a lot of questions in my mind right now and I am sure I have never wronged anyone enough for them to kidnap me and make me endure this horrendous smell.
Gah.
Have I ever wronged someone?
Why would someone kidnap my adorable self? I need to know...
How did this rogue even make it past border patrol?
Most importantly, why this room? Seriously if he makes an appearance which I anticipate is going to be soon, we need to make the abducting arrangement...like a proper room and proper shower. If his sole purpose is to kill me then he is doing a great job by torturing my nostrils.
I run a hand over my dress which now has cuts, patches of dirt, dust and...What? Is that blood? Oh hell no, I hope that is not someone else's blood. It is kind of stupid for me to wish for it to be my blood but I would rather have it be my blood than some other crazy person's. Sweat is trickling down my forward and my hair is now matted to my skin and the slight pain of healing scrapes on my skin and my cheek. I really need a shower and that is why the abductor and I need to discuss the terms and conditions of this kidnapping.
This dress was so expensive and sadly, I get to only wear it once. I am going to make the kidnapper pay me interest and fees for ruining a perfect dress meant for a perfect night. He should have really done this on another day like when I am in sweat pants and a loose shirt, for example.
Oh my god. Isaac. I wonder what he is doing. Has anyone noticed that I am missing? I am sure someone has especially Black and Zaira; they were literally on the other side of the door when my kidnapping took place and I am sure that my scream would have been able to alert them. God, they better hurry up I do not think I can survive another day in this small lock up room.
Maybe this is one of those ransom type of kidnappings and the rogues want something from Isaac and they are using me since I am the next thing he holds dear to himself.
I hear loud footsteps coming towards me and I brace myself to set my eyes on my kidnapper and give him a piece of my mind. I move closer to the bars as a tall and lean man finally comes into the light and smiles at me but even I know that the smile is just a crooked and evil smile. His dark hair completes his entire dark and evil look but the white clothes he has on kind of make me smirk at him and raise my eyebrows.
"Don't you think white is too pure for a dirty kidnapping?" I ask in an amused tone.
I know that should not be the one who is amused right now and I am the one at the end of the receiving end but maybe I should just test his patience before he unleashes his anger and presumably murders me.
"I was told that ladies have a thing for white and black." He replies with a smirk and pulls a string of keys from his pocket. He tries to open the lock with a key but it fails and he keeps changing the keys until he huffs obviously annoyed.
"Ladies sure do like a nervous and fumbling man." I chuckle which earns me a dark glare and I clamp my mouth shut.
There is a click and he lets out a sigh before swinging the door open and he grabs my arm and pulls me out of the stinking room. His touch sends cold shivers down my spine and his hold is sure to leave a mark on my skin. He pulls me down a hallway and we climb up a flight of stairs until we make it up into a well decorated hallway with paintings on the wall and a well carpeted floor.
"I never got your name." I say as we take a corner and deeper into another hallway.
"You don't need to know it." He replies and keeps pulling me to wherever we are going.
"I will give you my name and you will share yours." I push on even though the man looks like he does not care and just wants to make me shut up.
"I already know your name." he answers silently and stops in front of a large wooden door. "I would advise you to keep that mouth of yours shut." He advices but before I can ask what he means, he opens the door revealing what looks like an office but the guns and knives on a desk in the corner make me cringe and I am certain one of them has been used before.
The man pulls me into the office and pushes me into one of the seats. I look around the room and my eyes fall on a man in the corner of the room who has a drink in his hands and is smirking at me. The dark red fitted suit he has on makes him look like one of those intimidating business men who would not stop at nothing until they have their way. He walks towards me and sits on the seat opposite mine with the smirk still plastered on his face which is covered with stubble.
That face! I have met this man before. But where? He really looks oddly familiar… too familiar in fact.
"Hello Luna Aleisa." He says in a dark and intimidating voice. "I am sorry that our meetings are never appropriate but my stupid cousin won’t allow it." He adds on and the smirk on his face grows wider when he notices my confused stricken face.
All I know is that I have met this man before but I am not so sure as to pin point the location and when and mostly why he looks like someone I know.
In law?
What? Does Isaac know him?
He raises his hand and waves it at the man who kidnapped and brought me here. The man in white walks over to a cabinet and retrieves what looks like a file and hands it to the man in a suit. The man in a suit turns to me and then turns back to look at the man who handed him the file with an amused look on his face.
"Don't you think white is a bit wrong for this, Dean?" the man asks.
Okay at least I got one of their names and I won't just be calling them "the man"- that seems rude. Dean just looks down at the seated man with a smirk.
"I'm just tired of the dark clothes, boss." He replies and shrugs his shoulders nonchalantly.
The 'boss' turns back to me with the amused look on his face and then opens the file in his hands. “I have a feeling that you do not remember me by the confused look on your face and your mate has not been completely honest with you.” He muses.
““Mother Luna is so full of surprises.” He mutters with a smirk.
I gasp when those words register in my mind and the wheels turn, bringing forth the memory of where I have seen the man before. I remember him grabbing my pack of Doritos and I have still not forgiven him for that. I knew that he was bad news the first time I saw him but I did not know that he would try to kidnap me. What boggles my mind more, is the fact that he claims to know my mate and that he is keeping secrets from me.
“You remember!” he yelps in excitement as if he just earned a reward. "I don't really like kidnapping beautiful ladies but your mate was not really giving me a choice. It's considered good if you know the family and he wasn't letting me meet the family no matter how much I begged." He says and frowns at the end of the 'speech' but the smile in his voice does not let anything go.
"Something tells me that you did something wrong and you're not really "family"." I say and look him straight in his green eyes which silently remind me of Isaac.
Those green eyes, almost like the ones that Isaac, Caleb and Black share only that Caleb and Isaac have a light blue green color but this man right here has a sinister and twisted look in his eyes, almost making them look dark. Maybe he might be linked to Isaac by blood but he acts nothing like family.
He shrugs and stands up from his seat. "Fast learner, I like that." He muses and paces in front of me.
I ignore his comment and ask the question on my mind. "What do you mean by family?"
The only think going through my mind is that he is probably one of those estranged, crazy and evil members most families have. He definitely looks crazy because of the way he is pacing and making me dizzy and let's not forget the whole...kidnapping me just so he can meet me. Normal people knock at your entrance, they don't kidnap you while you are in a bathroom.
He finally stops pacing and stops in front of me. "So he's never even told you about me. God, I am so insulted." He says and places his palms over his chest. "He couldn't even mention his loving cousin to his mate. He has been a bad alpha and I have to teach him a lesson." He says and looks up to the ceiling as if someone just bestowed upon him the biggest burden.
I do not know what to be more shaken about, the fact that Isaac “forgot” to mention another cousin to me or the fact that I am in the same room with a crazy and wild man who is also a rogue.
"Nothing about you seems loving." I say but immediately regret it when he throws me an angered glare and his nostrils flare up in anger.
In a matter of seconds he is squatting in front of me and his hands are around my neck. I thrush in his hold as his hold tightens and the need for air is the only thing on my mind, my hands go up to my neck and I scratch at his arms and try my best to pry his hands of my neck but to no avail. His sharp nails dig into the side of my neck and I yelp harder and try my best to push him off me but my thrashing only seems to amuse and satisfy him. He finally let's go of me and I fall back into the seat and breathe harder and he looks at me as if I am just a small mosquito.
"You know, he was not supposed to have a mate and I am still surprised as to how you came around. I worked hard for everything while he was just a spoilt player who everyone still wanted to be Alpha. I trained and proved myself worthy for the position but the little cry baby still got the chair." He says and I can feel the anger build up in his voice.
"In the end it was always HIM. It is always HIM!" he screams into my face and I bury myself deeper into the seat trying to avoid this angered man. "But I am going to change that using you and this time it will be me." He says and takes a deep breath before stepping back into his seat.
Me? How the hell does he plan to use me? I can't even cook.
"Sorry I lost my cool there; I just hate it when people say I was not a loving cousin. I was the best cousin ever...still am." He muses with a fake smile.
"Enough with introductions, it's time to get your mate to join the party." He adds on with a smirk and different thoughts course through my mind and my levels of worry rise up.
Who knows what this psycho can do?
He raises his hand again and Dean walks up to me and grabs my wrist in a harsher way than before. That is going to leave a very red and angry mark. He pulls me out of the room and I am able to catch a glimpse of the smirking man on his seat before the door is closed with a bang.
"Your mate and you are definitely going to feel this." Dean muses as he pushes me into a room and smirks widely when he notices my scared and terrified expression.
NO!!
