Chapter 64: Chapter 64
"At this same time in 2018, on July 18th, we exchanged our vows and became husband and wife." I'm saying that while Mark is cooking, I should be strolling around the island in our brand-new kitchen and bugging him.
"I am familiar with the functioning of the calendar." Mark is using his smart mouth in an attempt to convince me to take a seat.
"Yeah, but today marks our anniversary of being together for a year." I would recommend coming to a complete halt right next to him and displaying him some images from the wedding.
I want to reiterate that I am familiar with the operation of the calendar. This time, however, he lets out a chuckle. "OK, go ahead and have a seat. After supper, I'd want to take you somewhere special." Mark tells me that he is putting a plate in the seat next to mine.
I get up and make my way over there before sitting down. "Oh, I'm so excited to find out where you've planned our anniversary celebration!" I smirk.
"This comes as a complete shock to me." He appears to be perplexed and raises both eyebrows. Although I roll my eyes and enjoy the delicious anniversary supper he made for me, he gives me a thoughtful look.
Mark dresses in a suit, and then he gives me instructions to get dressed in a dress. In most situations, I'd find something to complain about, but I'm in a good mood today. After helping me get inside the vehicle, he gets behind the wheel and starts the engine. Before he pulls anything out of his pocket and offers it to me, we get to the first intersection where there is a stop light.
Put this on because I don't want you to see what I'm about to show you." While he is having a hard time putting the blindfold on me, he says the following.
"It's not too difficult for me," the speaker said. I can't help but chuckle as I watch him reclaim his position behind the wheel.
"No peeping." Mark suggests getting out of the car and coming over here to assist me with this matter.
"I can't make out anything," the person said. As he walks me down the stairs, I can't help but crack a smile. Before he releases his grip on me, I notice that he opens the door.
"OK, don't move an inch and don't change position," the boss instructed. Mark says to me before I hear footsteps moving away from me. "OK, remove that blindfold," the boss said. It sounds like he is screaming.
After removing it, I wait for my eyes to become accustomed to the darkness. I take a few steps back and look in the direction of the front door of my father's house. I'm a little lost until I come across a route that's been illuminated with candles and covered with rose petals. I give a jovial smile and then bite the corner of my lip. After making my way over to the pathway, I look down the hall and find Mark standing at the far end of the corridor. I can't help but crack a wider grin as I approach him and shake my head in response.
"What the heck is going on with all of this?" I ask.
"This is not a joke," she said. "It's a legitimate proposition." Mark says to me while he is holding my hand and removing my engagement ring. You have proven that you are deserving of the actual thing. He gets down on one knee. "Alyanna, I first had the pleasure of meeting you a little more than a year ago. You stood out to me as a lady who was unafraid to follow her own path and was fiercely independent. Even though I'm trying to hold back the tears, I can't help but laugh and smile. "We got engaged here, so I brought you back to ask you now that I know you and love you," he said, "since this is the spot where we spoke our vows." He relaxes his facial expression and takes a deep breath. "Would you marry me again?" he asked her. I can't help but chuckle as I clench my teeth.
"Sure I will marry you again." I am able to smile while allowing my eyes to shed a few tears. Mark immediately rushes over to give me a hug and then a kiss after he replaces the ring on my finger and then kisses it. Once he breaks away from the kiss, the two of us embrace each other. I take a moment to catch my breath before reaching into my pocket and pulling out a piece of paper that has me stumped as to what I should do with it.
The question is, "What is that?" Mark suggests that we move further away from each other.
While I continue to breathe in and out, I close my eyes. A gift given on the anniversary of the marriage. I make sure the paper is unfolded before handing it to him.
He gives me a friendly smile before looking away from me and opening both of his eyes wide as he examines the paper. "Can we be sure that this is happening?" Mark asks. The hands that he is using are trembling.
The answer to that question is dependent on how you are now feeling. I'd like to have the opportunity to play with my hands.
"I see, so you're telling me this is genuine." He gives a happy smile. Despite this, I continue to be concerned. I quickly cast a glance downward at my hands in order to avoid making eye contact with Mark. "I'm going to be a dad?" Mark puts his hand on my chin and pulls me towards him by making me look up at him. "
"Yes." I allow myself to take a deep breath. "I'm pregnant." I muster up just enough smile to acknowledge his presence.
Mark is beaming with happiness as he reaches out to give me a hug. That took me by surprise how quickly everything happened. "I cannot contain my joy." When he speaks to me in a hushed tone. As I unwind in Mark's arms, I can't help but crack a grin and chuckle to myself. "I love you and the child that we are going to have together." He pulls me back, and as he does, I can see tears of joy in his eyes.
"I adore you too." I smile. He puts his hands on either side of my face and gives me another kiss.
"I created everything, including the dessert that we ate the night we met," she said. He drags me into the kitchen, and once we are there, I sigh and lean against him.
"Thank goodness, I've been starved." I muster up a childlike expression and skip my way into the kitchen.
"You're going to be quite the challenge, aren't you?" Mark inquires while giving off an air of mild concern in his manner of expression.
"Have you met me?" I can't help but chuckle when I remove the cover from the desert. Mark lets out a chuckle and then joins me in eating a taste of the food while we sit side by side.
