Chapter 21: Chapter 21

4 hours into the 8 hour flight I wake up and Mark is still asleep. I take this time to check what has been happening for the past 3 days. I haven't been on any social media. Why? I don't know, I just felt like it.

I'm tagged in a new post on Instagram and it's the photographer. She posted a few of our wedding pictures. Like the reveal and one with the whole crew where we're all just laughing.

I have another tagged photo. Abby this time. We took a selfie at the reception and I liked it. Abby's a good person. I hope she sticks around.

I didn't realize that I had so many tagged posts. Mark's groomsmen and I took some pictures and they all, and I mean all, posted them and tagged me with captions like, "Went to our best friend's wedding and here's his bride. Really glad I met you." Or something like that. They were all really nice and tall. I think the tallest was 6'7. But I had 3 inch heels and I'm naturally 6' so I was good. They were all surprised at how tall I was.

I found a post of Sophie's with Mason, the boy who walked her down the aisle. Good for her she should make Bradley jealous.

I scrolled continuously, not paying attention. Too many posts. No desire to look at them. So I turn my phone off and try to go back to sleep.

A little later I woke up and Mark woke up too. "Morning." He says.

"Is it really morning?" I ask sitting up.

"Yep, it's 6:00." He shows me his phone clock.

"Our time or Hawaii time?" I ask looking for my glasses.

"Hawaii time." He answers by handing me my glasses.

"Are we almost there?" I ask.

Before he can answer the flight attendant comes on over the loudspeaker. "Please put your seats in the upright position and put all the treys up as we begin our descent to our destination."

"There's your answer." Mark says following directions.

I roll my eyes and wait impatiently for the plane to land so we can get

off.

We claim our bags and go through all the crap that's important for the airport but not to me and get in a rental car.

"This feels weird." I say gestures go to my ring. "I mean it feels too big, like wide in meaning. It looks like it takes up half my finger."

"Really what about this?" He says, showing me his hand with his ring. "This feels weird to me. You're looking at a guy who has never worn a ring in his life and now has to deal with this." He is a little frantic.

"Fine. You win." I say waving my hand a little as if I'm waving a flag. He chuckles. "So what are we doing today?" I ask.

"Nothing too big. You can go to the spa if you want. We're going to dinner tonight at this nice restaurant." He answers.

"If I do go to the spa, what would you do?" I ask him.

"I don't know. Sit in the room watching movies I guess." He shrugs as we turn into the hotel parking lot.

"Well I don't want to go to some stupid spa. Why don't we go for a hike or swim?" I ask.

"Because today is the Pre-Honeymoon. Where we rest and take it easy. Tomorrow the real honeymoon starts and that's when we go hiking and swimming. We have 2 weeks to get that all done."

"2 weeks really?" My eyes go wide as he gets out of the car. "Are you serious?" I ask getting out and meet him at the back of the car.

"Yes. I'm serious. Now help me with the bags." He says grabbing some himself.

We go to the counter. "Aloha. Welcome to the four seasons resort." A man says.

"Aloha." Mark replies. "We have a room under Hernandez." He continues.

"Ooh the mild honeymoon sweet. Very nice choice for newlyweds." He says. I really hope all the hotel employees aren't like this. Just making conversation about the subject given. Like if someone were to bring up dirty towels, the employee might talk about dirty towels and how they wash them.
