Chapter 22: Chapter 22

"Wife!"

When she saw Theon visit the mansion the next day, her face lit up. She was outside with Celestine, watering a plant. She forgot to mention that she also abandoned his husband. She hugged it tightly and apologized.

"I understand... I understand it's against your will. But I'm not a bad person, Amara; we can divorce our marriage so that you can—"

"So you've arrived." Azael, smirks.

She escaped Theon's clutches. She noticed Azael and Penelope standing. her heart began to pound, and her entire system nearly collapsed. Azael might have melted at Theon's stare if she hadn't put her arm around her.

But her eyes widened when she caught a glimpse of the woman next to her. Did she believe it fled? Why did it return so quickly? The look was still repulsive, like a turtle. Monsters of the sea. She had no idea they were cousins of this despised.

"Amara! Oh, Amara! We're glad you're back," she said, hugging her. “Bitch! Why don't you die?" She whispered.

The taste of its eyes pierced her. "Don't worry, I'll kill you first," she replied.

It then went inside first, followed by Theon outside. They first discussed an incident in her life, and she avoided bringing up the subject of divorce. Not right now. This isn't the real reason they don't love each other.

She said her goodbyes and went to her room after they had family lunch that day. She pretended to have a headache and said she needed to rest. her mother immediately agreed.

She took Celestine and forced her to sit on the Queen size bed in her room, which she should have owned.

"Will you ask me to do something, Ma'am Amara?"

She smiled while crying. Its entire life has robbed it of its true value as a Legrand. Amara would have been here now. When she sat down next to it and extended her hand, she burst into tears.

"Thank you, Celestine."

When she cried, she was taken aback. "W-why?" it asks innocently. She pondered what to do with the tears that had previously fallen in her eyes.

"Thank you for being there for Mommy and Daddy while I'm away. You're the one who made up for my years away. Because you're here, Mommy won't miss me too much."

She bowed, her face flushed. She appears to be guilty of what she said. "I didn't do it to take your place, Ma'am Amara. That is correct!"

She gripped her hand. If it only knew how much fun and guilt it had ingrained in her personality. She was happy because she saw the real family, but she was also guilty because their Mommy still didn't know Celestine was its true unica hija and she wasn't. But she was determined; she would tell the woman the truth, and then tell everything to the first woman she recognized as her mother. Who has a greater right to know the truth here in the mansion than Celestine?

"I'm glad because I'm not the real Legrand. You are the true child of this family, Celestine, and I am not."

"W-what exactly are you saying—"

"Amara ?!"

"Mom!"

When she saw her mother at the door, her eyes widened, and she was taken aback by what she said. It grabbed her heart, and what happened next was that she and Celestine yelled and dashed towards it.

Azael did not respond to his sleeping mother's gaze. He felt a variety of emotions, but he remained calm despite the fact that it was true, no. A lot happened when Amara went missing for three years, and he only managed to track it down secretly and far away during that year.

He also knew she'd been to the Philippines three times and had been spying on their mother for three years. He knew all of its moves and could only follow them even the day he saw it when she was with Vraiellah as she fled for a while to Cuhen.

If it only knew how hard he was trying not to pull it and run away. But, because he loved her, he let her go even though it was against her will.

Amara despised him, but because he loves her, he can bear it for a few more years. Having Penelope in his life was possibly the worst decision he ever made. He knew it was a bad idea, but he persisted because he thought he could get Amara's attention, but he didn't, and that really fucks him.

When his phone rang, he saw that Cuhen was on the other end of the line. He hung up the phone, and it was Amara's turn to walk in. He was startled for a moment, then quietly approached their mother's side — her mother's side.

They are not related. He'd known for a long time, but he'd chosen to remain silent. He waited for the opportunity to speak. her eyes were red and swollen as she extended her hand to the lady. She could hear the word "sorry" on its lips.

"You did this because you left without saying goodbye."

Amara did not respond. She simply remained silent while gently brushing her mother's hair. He could see how much she missed their parents for the first time. As he watched the woman, her heart seemed to pound. Nothing has changed his heart to this day.

Then Celestine burst in, sparingly smiling and looking down when she saw her.

"Celestine, first and foremost, stay here. Amara and I should talk." When she said that, Amara turned to face him, his eyes questioning. "Come with me." And she was the first to leave that room.

His feet walked across the rooftop. He waited a few moments before detecting Amara's presence.

"How are you doing?" That was the first thing that popped into his head.

"I'm fine," Amara responded.

He faced and mumbled without emotion. He stared at it, but it didn't return his gaze. He couldn't tell what was going on in its head right now. He wanted to ask how much she loved Theon so much that she agreed to marry her right away, but he couldn't because he was afraid he would hurt her even more.

"I was ten years old at the time I saw you. I spent the entire year in America with our grandparents when you entered our lives. I had no idea Mom had hired a surrogate mother to bear their child. As a result, when I arrived at the mansion, I was overjoyed because I had a sister for the first time. I treated you like my younger sister at first. Until I gradually developed feelings for 'you' and fell in love. Yes, Amara, I've loved you since we were kids. I don't want to, but my heart won't let me. I was able to hide my feelings from everyone," he paused and took a deep breath, "but destiny can play, I dug into our family history. Her surrogate mother kidnapped Celestine. It does not wish to give the child after birth. Our parents were completely unaware that you were the one who replaced Celestine. You were kidnapped to hide Celestine, my true sister. They abruptly vanished with Celestine after giving you to our family and handing you two million dollars in compensation... "

"Are you sure you know everything?"

"When you vanished... Yes." she couldn't respond because she saw its stiffness on the stand. I can only say one thing right now: we are not siblings. I also tracked down the person who stole from you as a baby. They are already imprisoned on human trafficking and kidnapping charges. They didn't say who told you to steal, but I can tell you one thing: they'll rot to death."

"Azael ..."

He was taken aback when tears streamed mercilessly from her eyes. It happened one after the other, and then it was suddenly embraced. It was almost as if a thorn had yanked her out. He couldn't change what his one and only princess had done. He put his hand in his pocket and let it cry along with her. Is it resentment because he interfered? He just did something for it as well. On the other hand, he sees no flaws.

How much effort did he put into it? Sacrifice? He was almost insane the day she agreed to marry. He wanted to flee from it, to a place where no one would recognize them, but he came to a halt when the thought occurred to him, "Will it love him when he does?"

He must have had a lot of patience to watch it every time she slept in the room. He only leaves when he sees that everything is in order.

How many punches to the chest does he receive every time he sees it with that shameless Theon? He almost hit it and grabbed it by the neck, but Amara might hate him even more if he did this. Damn! If he had only known how much trouble his entire being had been put through, he might have understood.

Stalker if stalker, but that's what he did for three years. He was just watching it from afar with the new family. He was hurt, but he smiled in the end because this is proof that Amara and him could be a couple. Because it is not a genuine Legrand, her marriage to the man may be null and void.

In the real family, he sees it as very happy. He admires his princess, who can answer her questions and solve her problems. He was in Zamboanga, where Amara was seeking an answer.

He was simply standing back and watching its every move. When Berkham was with her, she was almost jealous and raged. He spoke to the couple who are now in jail when she entered a house. It took a PI to figure out what investigation Amara had conducted. She takes the important information and does not reveal it to the woman.

He had no idea that what he did would give Amara even more determination to know all the truth in her entire being.

Azael was saddened to see Amara turn around and walk away. He let go of her immediately after hugging her. There was no sound from its mouth. He had a lot of questions on his mind, so he decided to stay on the rooftop and think about them. He was at a loss for what to do next. He's in pain, that's for sure.

When she returned to the room, Amara had left. Penelope was the first person he met. Azael has already made up his mind that he will tell Penelope that their marriage is a forgery and that he will never be able to love it. He tried but failed to love it. His heart is still beating for his one and only princess.

"Let's talk about it, Penny."

"Why?"

He did not respond. He simply turned around, and it followed. When it entered the passenger side, he was in the car. He removed the ring and placed it on the dashboard without saying anything. He was stunned and couldn't believe what he had done. Three years with her was a living hell. Though it makes him realize how much she loves him she does not possess her heart.

"Wait, what does it mean? Are you kidding me? Baby? "

"To be honest, Penelope, we're not married. We only have fictitious marriages. Please forgive me for doing that to you, but I did my best to love you... But I'm afraid I can't."

Her tears fell one after the other and were obviously uncontrollable. “Liar! You adore me! We've gotten married. Your family likes me!"

"But you dislike them. I know you're simply betraying my mother. But that isn't the point here; it's about us. I'm sorry, Penny, but you're just a part of my plans. If only the heart could teach speed, you'd be the one I'd marry."

A hard slap landed on her cheek. He was numb because he hadn't been hurt at all. he's earned it. He shouldn't have been slapped because he knew what she'd done to her had caused her too much pain.

"Prove to me you're lying! Please tell me!"

"I'm not."

She rushed up to him and sobbed on his shoulder. "Please, baby... I adore you! This is not something you can do to me. Our marriage is genuine. You're playing a joke, right? I know you adore me! Please, Azael, because I adore you. You're simply lying. Yes! You're simply lying. You are unable to break us. We simply must. If someone tries to steal you away from me, I'll kill her!"

He sighed deeply and untied her hand from his neck. "Stop. It's all over now, Penelope." he exited her car by opening the door.

He was stopped by a hug from behind her. “No! Azael, no. Nobody will leave and be forgotten! Please stay and I will do everything. I knew you loved someone else from the beginning, but I don't care! I don't give a fuck. I love you, and nothing else matters to me!"

If at all possible. He shattered her hand. They are finished. He must also put an end to this act.

"Is that Amara? Huh ?! "

He was completely taken aback. "Do not involve others in this."

"There is no other explanation than your phony sister! I'm sure you love her! I used to think it was impossible for her to be with you, but after learning from my cousin Berkham that Amara is their long-lost sister... Bullshit! She's the cause, isn't she?! I'm going to kill her."

He turned around and shook her shoulder vigorously. "Stop right now! Isn't this Amara we're talking about?! "

It was hysterical and cried out loud. Some people in the parking lot noticed their actions.

"Who then? Ha ?! Who? How dare you to use me and then dump me! You're mine, Azael, remember that. You're just like me!" It slammed the car door shut as it exited and dashed away.

He scratched his brow. Fuck! Is this what he means? This was the biggest mistake he ever made, despite his many good decisions. Screw it! If he had only known that he and Amara were not siblings. The truth is that love is insane.
