Chapter 224: Chapter 224
"I’ll just take a quick call; you can order for me," Whitney said as she excused herself to make the call, her focus shifting to business.
Suddenly, Tom approached our table, now wearing a manager’s uniform. "I’m sorry for the inconvenience a while ago; there has been a mistake on our side of management. May I please take your orders again?"
"Wait, aren’t you the waiter from a while ago?" Rex asked, his brow furrowing in confusion.
I considered stepping in, but Tom seemed to be handling the situation well.
"I’m a waiter and a manager here, which allows me to better assist customers and recommend dishes that match their preferences," he explained confidently.
"I see," Rex nodded, seeming to accept the explanation.
"Can you serve us the dishes you mentioned a while ago?" I asked, eager to eat since the
Tom smiled widely upon seeing me. "Sure thing, miss! I’ll serve it to you right away!"
"Thank you," I replied, watching as Tom left to fulfill our order.
Meanwhile, as soon as Whitney’s call connected, and her tone instantly shifted to a professional, business-like manner. "Mr. Robert George!" she began, her voice clear and confident.
Robert replied on the other line, his tone curious.
"I am Whitney Owen, and I would like to discuss the possibility of partnering with your business," Whitney stated, her determination evident.
"You don’t understand, Mr. George. Having multiple partnerships has many benefits!" Whitney insisted, her tone firm yet persuasive. "It can provide additional resources, diverse expertise, and a broader network that can help your restaurant thrive even more."
Robert replied, maintaining his stance.
"Think about it, Mr. George. With the growing interest in monster meat and the unique niche your restaurant occupies, having an additional partner could accelerate your expansion plans. I have experience in marketing and business development that could help elevate your brand," Whitney pressed, her voice unwavering.
Whitney felt a wave of disappointment wash over her; she hadn’t managed to secure a partnership. "I’m willing to be an investor, but I have one question," she replied, trying to maintain her composure.
Robert responded, his tone brightening.
"May I know who your partner is?" Whitney asked, eager to discuss a potential deal with that person in the near future.
The other line went silent for a moment.
"Mister George?" Whitney prompted, breaking the silence.
The call finally ended.

When Whitney arrived, we finally dug into our meal, savoring the delicious dishes that Tom had brought us. Before we left, I noticed Tom and Jerry waving goodbye to me, mouthing a heartfelt "thank you." I smiled back then left the restaurant. For more chapters visıt 𝗻𝗼𝘷𝗲𝗹•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝕟𝕖𝕥
Our next destination was a round of golf, a suggestion from Whitney. "It’ll be a great way to unwind and enjoy the view," she said.
"Or we could go bowling instead!" Rex chimed in, clearly excited about his own plan.
"I thought we planned this already?" Whitney replied, raising an eyebrow. "Let’s play golf first since it’s an outdoor activity, and then we can go inside when the weather gets hot."
After some lighthearted debate, we decided to play golf first for an hour before going bowling The sun was shining, and the course was beautiful, making for a perfect day outdoors.
Once our time on the golf course came to an end, we headed to the bowling alley, where Rex giddily guided us to our lane.
"Get ready to lose!" Rex declared playfully as he picked up a bowling ball, his competitive spirit shining through.
"Not if I can help it!" Angela shot back, grinning.
After our games, we headed to a cozy spot for a homemade lunch, where Cypher guided us through the menu, ensuring we tried the best dishes. The food was delightful, and we all left feeling satisfied and energized.
Next, we decided to relax at a massage spa, a recommendation from Edge. The atmosphere was serene, and we indulged in various massages that left us feeling rejuvenated. It truly was one of the best times of our lives.
As the day wound down, we gathered on the veranda for a barbecue party. The aroma of grilled food filled the air, and we enjoyed a feast under the stars. After eating our fill, we settled in for the night, feeling content and peaceful.
I contacted Robert first about what happened at the restaurant and to file a lawsuit towards the manager, chef, and those so-called privileged members before going to sleep. At least they included my favorite activity on the list: sleep.

The next day, when I woke up, I noticed everyone was already up. Once again, I was the only one who had overslept. I quickly got ready and joined them at the dining table.
"Why didn’t any of you wake me up?" I asked, sliding into my seat. Then, noticing Rex and Christian’s grumpy, glaring faces, I added, "Why do you two look like that?"
"They tried waking you up," Cypher said, chuckling softly.
"You kicked my chin!" Christian complained, rubbing his jaw.
"You pulled my hair!" Rex added, scowling while rolling his eyes at me.
Oh right, I remembered Macaron doing all sorts of crazy things just to wake me up.
"Well, I’m awake now, aren’t I?" I said to them, flashing a smile.
As we continued eating, enjoying the delicious breakfast spread, Angela’s phone rang. She picked it up, her expression shifting as she answered.
"Hello? Who’s this?" Angela said as she slowly put down her spoon.
"Yes, I am. Why are you calling me?" she replied, her tone turning serious.
After hearing something from the other end, she abruptly stood up, her chair screeching against the floor as she did. The sudden movement caught everyone’s attention, and the atmosphere shifted from casual chatter to concern.
"Angela, is everything okay?" Whitney asked, curious what the caller on the other line said.
She didn’t respond immediately, her attention still on the call, but I was the only one who could clearly hear what the other person was saying.
"Brother... Woke up... Sleeping..." Those words kept repeating in my mind, echoing ominously.
I didn’t understand. There was supposed to be a year left before he could fully wake up and activate the Rakshesha’s curse. My plan wasn’t ready yet... I needed to kill him... Or else
My plan’s not ready yet... I need to kill him...
I snapped out of my thoughts when Angela spoke again.
"I-I’m sorry, guys, there’s been a family emergency, and I-I need to go," Angela said frantically, her voice trembling as she hurriedly went inside her room to pack her things.
The others followed her to her room, but I felt frozen in my seat, my mind going blank as I struggled to process what I had just overheard.
"Are you okay?" Whitney asked, concern evident in her voice as she looked at Angela.
"There’s no need to worry, you guys just have fun and enjoy the last day here," Angela replied, though her pack was a mess. She kept shoving and shoving her belongings, but it wouldn’t close because of how disorganized everything was.
Whitney stepped inside to help Angela pack, gently taking some of the items from her hands.
"You’re clearly not okay," Cypher said softly.
"Can you tell us what’s going on?" Edge added, his voice filled with concern.
Angela sat down abruptly, frustration evident as she ran her fingers through her hair. "My brother... he woke up... I don’t know what to do," she admitted, her voice trembling.
"What should we do? The portals are closed right now for maintenance, and traveling by road or plane might take too long," Christian said, scrolling through his phone.
Angela drew a sharp breath, her eyes wide with urgency. "This won’t do... I need to get there as fast as I can! I still need to book a ticket if I go by plane, and it’ll be traffic by now! Unless Remillia..." she paused, her mind racing.
