Chapter 34: Chapter 34

Heart pounding, veins popping, mind numbling, as head was throbbing painfully. Kassim stood there mouth agape, he couldn't even bring himself to stop or talk back to her. All he do was to stare at her, as every part and organ of his body slackened as her choked voice kept hitting his pounding heart.

His gaze glued on her face all this while, he couldn't even muster the courage to voice out a single word. How her lips curved, making her dimples etched perfectly; it would've been a greet sight, if she wasn't the one crying and choking on her words. Her eyes; even though they were red and pale, they still has that spark in them, they still instill an unfathomable feeling in him. His eyes hadn't tore from her lips since she started talking, how the lips curves; they were chapped and pale, but still looked captivating.

The tip of her nose was all red, as she kept sniffling back tears and mugus from all the cryings. Up to her drenched eyelashes, Kassim wished he hadn't looked up there, for all he saw was a beautiful creation of Allah scrumbled alive, making it lifeless and useless; yet, vibrant and ravishing. This_____is what her bloodshot eyes emotes.

He frenzed on his spot as she flashed him one last disgusting look before walking over her desk. Her tears intensified as she rested her head on the table, silently crying in agony. Kassim felt as if he was drenched with a cold water bucket in the middle of a snowy winterfall.

Her words glides through his heart, down to his soul; and found an empty place yet to be filled______so, without his consent, they began residing there, embeding themselves and their beholder. For the words were hers, not his. She only gifted him with them.

With one glance at her complete broken self, Kassim trudge back to his office and slumped on his chair______twirling it softly, yet; ruminatively. He closed his eyes for some nanoseconds, but all he could see was her red face, bloodshot eyes, sniffling nose and perfect lips curving out those words with tears streaming down her face.

"I've never felt this remorseful all my life, not even when Dad was sick and I wasn't there," he hushed to himself, as he checked his wristwatch to see how many hours remains for his brother to land in the airport, he needs to be there______it has been quite a long time since they meet.

There was almost nine hour left, it was obvious that Adyan hadn't even booked his flight yet. He brushed off Hayfah's thoughts and words; before burying himself with work, since he has a meeting to attend with the finance department around 12noon.

"Her sentimental words couldn't stop her from being punished, and she must surely knows who she had messed with. This is Kassim Aliyu, not the other guy she claimed he loves her. That crap isn't worth loving!" He muttered to himself and stood up. Wore back his tuxedo and walked out of the office.

His gaze landed on Hayfah's sombre figure. She was crying silently, there were only tears dripping down her face, she was obviously drenched out of energy. He felt a little bad, but quickly masked off his emotions. He needs to act strong, so she could be justly punished.

"We have a meeting to attend. Get yourself ready in five minutes," he ordered, not looking at her side.

Hayfah shuddered at his voice. She dispised him. She hates him more than she could ever hate a creator of Allah in this world. He crumbled her life in the blink of an eye, and she just couldn't do anything about that. The thought alone; made more tears gushed down her cheeks.

"I said you should get ready now, we have a meeting in 15 mins time now!" He spoke in a bit higher voice. He knew she heard him, but she was just pretending that she didn't. He didn't know something like this exist in her. She looked calm and gentle, but only god knows the rebels that lies down beneath her soul.

"Hayfah Talhah Muhammad! I can take nothing apart from ignoring, why would you ignore me when I'm crystal sure you heard me!" This time his voice came as a yell, he surely isn't good in anger control.

"Says the person that said my voice could damage his eardrums. Says the person that said I should do all it takes not to talk around him. So, my silence means I'm not moving an inch fron here, you don't own me!" She replied sarcastically not glancing his way, for his face was the last thing she wants to see right in her state now. She hates everything about him.

"This is an order from a CEO to his staff!" He declared, clearly annoyed as to how she isn't showing any feeling whilst retaliating. Isn't she afraid of him any more?

Hayfah looked up, he was utterly shocked at how her eyes turned redder than a usual red colour an eye could turn to. He could clearly see pain written all over her face. He could clearly see the screaming voices in her soul.

"It's okay then. But don't just come out of this office!" He was surprised at himself for letting her be. Was it because of the glare she sent his way? Or is it his heart taking over the control of his entire body? He couldn't know the answer himself.

Hayfah let out a grunt when he was out of sight. She bowed down a little and picked her bag from the floor. She needs to talk to someone. She needs to pour out the pain to someone. She needs to confide in someone. And who would she go to? No one but Adyan, and the best way is to write to him, she feels a spiritual connection with him through her paper and pen.

Wiping away her tears, she pulled out her diary and her usual writing pen. Flipped the pages so she couldn't read her past pains, as she stare at the blank page patiently waiting for it to be filled with grief.

Mustering her remaining courage, flaring up all those nebulous emotions, she began writing with tremulous hands, picturing him sitting beside her, as she began talking aloud whilst writing in her diary. This is the strength of Hayfah, this is her life behind the scene, and this is where she finds solace and comfort. Talking to herself assuming it was him beside her, with her pen and paper in hold.
