Chapter 10: Chapter 10

Being able to own a brand new building in the lower districts of Clear Mine City was itself a symbol of power.

After Loren got out of the vehicle, Tyrone slammed on the accelerator, driving the heavy armored pickup truck away from the Wild Dog Gang's headquarters at high speed.

He knew that Mr. Loren's work tended to create quite a commotion.

Not wanting to become collateral damage and just wanting to be an ordinary delivery driver, it was better for him to make a swift exit first.

Loren didn't concern himself with Tyrone who had already left; his attention was entirely focused on the power-symbolizing building before him.

"It seems you might offer me some surprises," Loren muttered to himself.

Loren adjusted his top hat and clothes, then checked his appearance in the building's exterior glass.

Being presentable was very important to Loren.

Next, after finishing his grooming, Loren casually plucked a feather from the raven on his shoulder, transforming it into an ornate black and gold revolver. Google seaʀᴄh novel•fire.net

At the building's entrance stood a squad of fully armed guards.

Each carried advanced, long-barreled firearms. Loren recognized them from a distance as the Federation's latest model laser rifles.

They wore thick bulletproof vests and heavy helmets.

Their hands were clad in tactical gloves, pistols were holstered at their waists, and combat knives were strapped to their legs.

These guards also noticed the figure approaching the building.

"Mr. Loren, please stop. Allow me to notify those above," said the lead guard stationed at the entrance, extending his arm to block Loren.

"Mr. Loren from the 'Street of Sin' in the Gray Zone, we are aware of you," the guard politely flattered Loren.

"Bang!" A gunshot rang out.

The guard's head exploded, and his headless body collapsed.

The barrel of the revolver in Loren's hand was emitting white smoke.

"Since you know me, you still dared to block me," Loren said with a tone of resignation.

The remaining guards, seeing Loren act so directly, were momentarily stunned.

Wait, why did you just shoot??? This was the thought running through the minds of the remaining Wild Dog Gang guards.

The guards who recovered their senses quickly raised their weapons, intending to aim and fire at Loren.

After a series of gunshots, the guards were completely wiped out.

The smooth ground at the building's entrance was littered with the headless corpses of the guards.

Every shot from Loren was a precise headshot, without exception.

Their speed in raising their weapons was far too slow for Loren.

For those who use firearms as weapons, speed is everything.

Having dealt with the troublesome obstacles, Loren continued walking into the interior of the building.

Loren walked very slowly, softly humming a melodious tune.

It was as if he was waiting for the Wild Dog Gang members to gather, so he could have his full enjoyment.

At that moment, alarms began sounding throughout the building.

"Warning! Intruder detected!"

The gunshots and alarm sounds quickly attracted the attention of the Wild Dog Gang personnel.

The entire building seemed to come alive as countless footsteps echoed.

Wild Dog Gang members from every floor began converging toward the first-floor lobby.

Hearing these movements, Loren paused his steps.

He casually found a sofa in the first-floor lobby and sat down, leisurely waiting for the Wild Dog Gang members.

The raven on his shoulder spread its wings, as if stretching lazily.

Then, retracting its wings, the small-headed bird began scanning its surroundings, helping Loren maintain vigilance.

Soon, Wild Dog Gang members began descending from upstairs.

Unfortunately, these members who came downstairs were instantly headshot by Loren's revolver the moment they emerged from the staircase.

"Careful, it's Las Loren! That madman!"

"We don't dare show ourselves at all!"

Someone recognized Loren's figure through the reflection in the first-floor lobby glass.

These first-arriving Wild Dog Gang members, crammed into the second-floor stairwell, began calling for internal gang support.

The scene fell into silence.

Hearing countless heavy, fearful breaths, Loren closed his eyes and began to revel in it.

"The struggle for life is always so sweet and enticing."

Wearing an excited smile, Loren began firing his gun aimlessly into the air.

These bullets, after circling in the air for a moment, flew directly toward the concealed stairwell.

Just before hitting the lobby walls, the bullets all curved around, rushing en masse into the stairwell.

Countless explosions and screams simultaneously erupted from the crowded stairwell.

"Ah!! Help! I don't want to die!!!"

"Help!! My leg's been blown off!!"

"Damn it! These bullets can curve!! And they're incredibly powerful!!"

"Retreat! Retreat! Fall back upstairs! Quick!!!"

These sounds, in Loren's ears, were like the most exquisite musical movement.

Growing increasingly excited, Loren accelerated his performance tempo.

Loren frantically pulled his trigger, round after round of bullets pouring forth.

Another series of explosions sounded...

The crowded stairwell fell completely silent.

This first wave of Wild Dog Gang members had all lost their vital signs.

Severed limbs and broken corpses filled the ruined stairwell.

Loren, standing in the center of the first-floor lobby, nodded with satisfaction.

He stopped pulling the trigger and returned to sit on the sofa, waiting for the next wave of Wild Dog Gang members.

The raven on his shoulder tilted its small head, looking toward the stairwell location.

It spread its wings again, flapping them symbolically.

Loren stroked the raven on his shoulder, signaling it not to get too excited - this was just the beginning...

After waiting a while.

Finally, people descended from upstairs again.

Only three individuals, all dressed in immaculate suits.

To Loren's surprise, these three didn't come down via the stairs or the elevator.

The three appeared in the center of the lobby out of thin air.

As if space had torn open a gap, the three squeezed through it.

"Oh? I didn't expect the Wild Dog Gang to have Psychics among them."

"And space-system Psychics at that. It seems you have many secrets," Loren said to the three who had appeared from nowhere, speaking with some surprise and a smile.

In response to Loren's teasing, the three gave no reaction.

The person in the middle of the trio stepped forward directly and asked Loren calmly:

"Mr. Loren, has our Wild Dog Gang offended you? To make you commit such slaughter."

"You are?" Loren, sitting on the sofa, glanced at the speaker and asked.

"I am the leader of the Wild Dog Gang, Adrian," he said, staring intently at Loren's eyes, speaking slowly as if facing a formidable enemy.

"You haven't offended me."

"However, since you know me, you should know I'm an Interstellar Hunter."

"You've offended my client."

Loren smiled as he explained his purpose for being here.

Adrian fell silent, sighed, never expecting his gang would provoke this particular individual.

He quickly reviewed his gang's recent activities.

It must be that incident, the one that could indirectly provoke this dangerous and crazy Interstellar Hunter.

After a long moment, Adrian gave up trying to recall.

As an established criminal organization, the Wild Dog Gang had far too many operations...

He couldn't determine which specific incident had prompted their hidden enemy to hire this dangerous person.

Adrian still believed that one of his gang's rivals had hired Loren to deal with them.

"So, may I ask, Mr. Loren, have you come here to annihilate the Wild Dog Gang?"
