Chapter 97: Chapter 97
Sienna Quinn sat in her office, frowning at the somewhat noisy sounds outside. Before she could react, "Bang!" The office door was pushed open from the outside, and a figure excessively glamorous appeared before her.
Danielle Carter followed closely behind, filled with helplessness toward the former: "Miss, you can’t come in without an appointment, President Quinn is very busy."
"Busy? Do you know who I am? I’m Sienna Quinn’s cousin." Clara Quinn rolled her eyes, sneering.
Standing beside her was a woman dressed in opulent attire — Amanda Warren.
"Claire, why are you shouting?"
Clara snorted coldly, turning her head to point at Sienna who was sitting at her desk: "Why don’t you ask your President Quinn? What exactly is our relationship with her?"
Danielle looked at Sienna plaintively. The latter waved her hand at Danielle, who glanced worriedly at Clara and Amanda before leaving the office. Was it really okay for her to just leave ?
Sienna nodded gently, and after confirming it several times, Danielle finally left the office.
Clara glanced around, clicking her tongue: "It’s not bad at all. You go abroad to get gilded, and you really think you’re a strong woman now?"
The woman casually sat on the sofa, crossing her legs, her eyes filled with envy.
Though she was also a lady, she was nothing but a useless woman who only shopped, bought bags, and hosted parties. Compared to the elite Sienna, she was worlds apart.
"At least this gilding allows me to sit here and become the President Quinn in other people’s mouths, while you’re still just the Quinn Family’s young lady."
"You... are you saying I’m uneducated?" Clara stood up at once, her angry demeanor appearing quite sinister and terrifying.
Amanda gave Clara a stern look, and Clara only calmed down after snorting coldly.
Sienna’s gaze first fell on Amanda, her small hand clenched tightly. If her parents hadn’t died in an accident back then, would her mother become a woman as elegant and dignified as Amanda is now? But her mother never got that chance.
Sienna’s gaze toward Amanda grew deeper. She always felt that the incident back then was not so simple. If there were people who benefited the most from her parents’ death, it would be Tom Quinn and Amanda.
"It’s been a while since you’ve returned, and you still haven’t gone home to take a look."
"Does anyone in that house even want me back?" Sienna laughed coldly, her mocking gaze making Amanda pause. Why had this little girl become so sharp and mean? She wasn’t before. Did she grow up on gunpowder in those five years abroad?
Amanda chuckled lightly, but her expression remained unchanged. Sienna laughed softly. Compared to Claire, Amanda was far more advanced.
"Sienna, don’t speak so distantly. Since your parents passed away, we’ve been your last family members. How could we not care about you? Besides, your grandma has mentioned you many times. After five years with no news, how worried must the elderly be?"
Mentioning the elders, Sienna’s eyes finally showed a change. The death of her parents was undoubtedly linked to Amanda and Tom, but her grandma was innocent.
Clara looked at Sienna’s hesitant demeanor and snorted coldly: "Don’t come back then. After all, I wouldn’t welcome you anyway."
"Everything you have now used to be mine, but what exactly happened to my parents’ incident five years ago?"
"How would I know what happened to your parents?" Clara snorted coldly. If her parents hadn’t died, how could her father have taken over as President of the Quinn Group?
"Then... what about Aunt?" Sienna’s gaze was teasing as she looked at Amanda, whose pupils shrank as she avoided Sienna’s gaze.
"Didn’t your older brother and sister-in-law attend a party, got drunk, and then drove under the influence back then? We tried to stop them to no avail, that was our fault."
Amanda shook her head sorrowfully, her demeanor truly self-blaming.
Such acting skill was already on par with Actress Vance.
"Aunt, you know Vera Yates, don’t you." For original chapters go to N0v3l.Fiɾe.net
"Hmm?" Amanda was startled by Sienna’s sudden question, unsure of her intent.
"How could you not? You were childhood friends. Claire and she are good friends too." Saying this, she glanced at Clara. These kids grew up together, and ever since Sienna was sensible, she wouldn’t leave Stephen’s side, which had made everyone’s family laugh at her thick-skinned persistence for quite a while back then.
"I can see your acting skills are good; otherwise, you wouldn’t perform so vividly. Why don’t you go act with Actress Vance?"
"What are you talking about? How would my mom know anything about your parents’ incident?" Clara’s face darkened as she looked at Sienna, her little face filled with anger.
Sienna mischievously curled her lips, instead watching Amanda with interest, her gaze drifting to Amanda’s hand hanging by her side, clenched into a fist, forcibly suppressing the unease in her heart, pressing her lips to prevent herself from speaking out.
"Sienna, at my age, how can I still go act?" Amanda chuckled softly, trying hard to cover up her embarrassment.
Sienna sat down, looking at the two before her, "Aunt came to me today, is there something you need?"
"Come home today, Grandma misses you."
Grandma... those two words hadn’t been heard for a long time. These years only Evan Quinn accompanied her. Blood is thicker than water; upon hearing about the elderly, even Sienna’s hardened heart softened.
"Alright, I’ll come back tonight."
Clara and Amanda were taken aback for a moment, glancing at each other in surprise that Sienna had actually agreed.
"You’re agreeing?" Claire said dumbfoundedly.
Sienna chuckled softly, staring straight at Clara, her aloof gaze made Clara’s heart tremble, "If you don’t want me to go, I can not go. Of course, I’ll make sure to tell Grandma it was you who wouldn’t let me return home."
"Sienna... you..." Clara was stunned by her words, pursing her lips. If Old Mrs. Quinn found out it was because of Clara she didn’t return, Clara would definitely be the one to suffer.
"Who’s going to care about you?" Clara snorted coldly, turning her head aside.
But Sienna just chuckled lightly, her gaze filled with interest as she said, "But now I don’t want to go."
"What? Sienna, don’t be capricious, it’s a family dinner today, you must come."
"Forget it, after all, someone doesn’t want me there." Sienna said and then gave Clara a glance.
Clara was taken aback, immediately jumping up from the sofa, "Don’t accuse me, I never said not to let you go, you just want Grandma to scold me?"
"That, I’m afraid I can’t control, at the time you’ll have to explain to Grandma yourself." The corners of Sienna’s lips formed a beautiful arc.
