Chapter 92: Chapter 92
This man, Sienna Quinn would never forget in this lifetime, the executioner of Vera Yates, the man who personally took her and her child’s life: Miles Grant.
"Sienna!" Miles Grant looked at Sienna, his pupils widening. People had always said Sienna had returned, but he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes. He never thought he would see Sienna today, at Landon Lawson’s dinner table.
Noticing her wide-eyed disbelief, Sienna’s lips curled into a wicked smile. All those who wronged her in her past life were finally all here. How could she easily forgive the man who took her life?
Seeing the confidence and determination in the woman’s eyes, Miles Grant gradually narrowed his eyes. Just as Vera Yates had said, she had changed from before.
As a lead surgeon, Miles Grant’s eyesight was better than anyone’s. Although Sienna’s changes were subtle, he saw them most clearly. This woman was completely different from before.
"Long time no see!" Sienna proactively extended her hand, her upturned lips carrying a hint of devilry, and the meaningful look in her eyes always made Miles Grant feel uncomfortable.
"Indeed, long time no see. You’ve been gone for five years with no news, worrying all of us." Miles Grant extended his hand to shake Sienna’s, his previously gentle gaze turning somewhat dark.
"Worried? I think, Dr. Grant, you’re more interested in my kidneys." Sienna squinted her eyes, which were deep and unreadable.
Miles Grant’s hand paused momentarily, then returned to normal: "I’m not in the business of selling human organs."
Miles Grant’s gaze flickered slightly. How did Sienna know about the events of that year?
Back then, he and Vera Yates had planned to get rid of Sienna, but she left early, narrowly avoiding disaster. How did she know about this? Did she tell Landon Lawson?
They stared at each other, both harboring their own thoughts. The source of this content ɪs NovelHub(.)net
If he dared to make a move on her in the past life, he would do the same in this one. Sienna harbored no illusions that Miles Grant would become kind in this life; old habits die hard.
There was an invisible pressure between the two, a vague sense of confrontation.
Landon Lawson looked at them, frowning. They had only been apart for five years. Though their relationship wasn’t close friends, they had been at peace. Why did they suddenly seem like enemies?
Was it his imagination? Landon Lawson cleared his throat gently: "How long do you plan to keep shaking hands?"
The two let go, but Miles Grant showed no intention of leaving.
Nolan Shaw got the hint and quickly moved to make space, waiting for a waiter to bring another chair before sitting down.
As Miles Grant sat down, his pupils contracted again, leaving him momentarily stunned. Such a dazed expression was rare on him.
"Mommy! Who is this uncle?" a childish voice interrupted Miles Grant’s shock, as Evan Quinn, looking innocent and full of childlike wonder, asked the question. No one could guess that this clever little devil wasn’t easy to fool.
"He’s an old friend of Mommy’s, Uncle Miles Grant!"
Sienna glanced at Miles Grant. Since Evan Quinn and Landon Lawson had already recognized each other, this truth could not be hidden for long. Miles knowing was only a matter of time.
Mommy? Miles Grant raised an eyebrow, studying Evan up and down again, finding him increasingly familiar. He suddenly turned to look at Landon Lawson, who had not spoken a word.
Finally, he understood why the child seemed so familiar. This child looked exactly like Landon Lawson when he was young.
"Landon... he..." pointing at Evan, he inquired.
Landon Lawson unusually smiled and nodded, "He’s my son. From now on, you’ll be his uncle. You can’t be stingy with my son, as his uncle, you’re obliged to make up for these lost years with gifts."
Miles Grant squinted, his gaze at Evan deepening. He hadn’t expected Sienna to have borne Landon Lawson’s child.
"Of course, as his uncle, I’ll surely take good care of him." Playing with his fingers, his thoughts were no longer on Sienna.
Sienna watched Miles, noting the changes in his eyes with unerring clarity. Squinting her eyes, she realized she needed to increase Evan’s protection. Currently, Sienna was like a mother hen with her feathers ruffled, afraid of anyone harming her little chick.
Miles Grant stood up, casting an amused look at Sienna. This meal had indeed been worthwhile.
"I won’t disturb your meal any longer; I have friends on the other side," he said, turning to leave.
As he turned his back on Landon Lawson and the others, his eyes narrowed, his expression unnatural. He knew Landon Lawson well; they had grown up together, and he was familiar with his temperament.
Sienna had always liked to follow Landon Lawson, but he chose to ignore her, barely saying a word more than necessary in the past. If it weren’t for Grandpa Lawson, Landon Lawson wouldn’t have married Sienna.
In the past, he wouldn’t even entertain the idea of dining together, nor even breathing the same air as her without feeling repulsed.
But why? Not only did Landon Lawson dine with Sienna this time, but they seemed to be on good terms.
Could it be that his feelings for her really changed, just as Vera Yates feared?
Watching Miles Grant leave, Sienna finally relaxed. At least for now, Miles wouldn’t do anything to Evan. But judging by her past life’s memories, Miles and Vera were ruthless and wouldn’t show mercy just because he was a child.
Landon Lawson looked at the absent-minded Sienna and asked, "It’s been so long since we’ve seen Miles, you must have nearly forgotten. You’ve been back so long, but haven’t returned to the Quinn Family yet, have you?"
"When it comes to being heartless, I’m probably not even a tenth of your level, President Lawson. After ten years of pursuit, even a cat or dog would feel gratitude, but you? How have you treated me?"
Nolan Shaw stood there in disbelief. Sienna really dared to say anything, even something so outrageous. Did she truly not fear Landon Lawson’s anger?
Nolan Shaw didn’t dare even breathe loudly.
Landon Lawson let out a cold snort, incredulously eyeing the woman before him.
"What did you say? You’re comparing me to a cat or dog?"
Seeing the anger in his eyes, Sienna chuckled lightly: "I thought we could have a peaceful meal for Chloe’s sake, but it seems that’s not going to happen."
With that, she turned and picked up Evan, smiling warmly at him: "Let’s go home with Mommy."
Evan stared at the two with mismatched opinions in a stupor, and with some helplessness, rubbed his forehead. What exactly was going on between these two? Why did they argue the moment they met?
