Chapter 66: Chapter 66
The man making the report glanced at the brightly altered faces of the Yates Group below the stage, a cold sweat forming on his forehead. However, he couldn’t let it show too obviously.
The unusualness on the Yates Group side caught Jason’s attention, and he frowned slightly. Interrupting someone’s report in such a way is a very impolite act.
Sienna Quinn glanced at Chloe Langley behind her, who obediently sat down without continuing to speak.
"Nothing much, just surprised by Lawson Group’s design proposal."
When the man finished his report, Jason turned his gaze to Sienna Quinn. "Now it’s your turn, President Quinn."
Sean Carter clenched the USB tightly and glanced at Sienna Quinn, who nodded expressionlessly. Despite the circumstances, the report must go on.
Sean Carter snorted coldly. As he walked up to the stage, he provocatively bumped into the man’s shoulder. The man was slightly angry: "What are you doing?"
"Doing what? Even if we are doing something, it’s certainly not as over-the-top as what you’ve done."
The man’s body trembled slightly. His anger was extinguished by that remark.
Sean Carter inserted the USB into the computer and opened the presentation interface, which was strikingly similar to the man’s previous report.
Even Landon Lawson frowned this time, glancing at Sienna Quinn and the united front behind her. His brow furrowed as he quietly asked Nolan Shaw, "Go investigate what exactly happened?"
Nolan Shaw was also a bit surprised, not expecting such a thing to happen.
After the meeting ended.
Sienna Quinn and Landon Lawson followed Jason out of the conference room first.
Looking at Sienna Quinn’s stubborn face, Jason shook his head in disappointment, "President Quinn, today’s design proposal, I’m very disappointed."
"I’ll give you a reasonable explanation."
Jason sighed. At least in this round of competition, the Yates Group completely lost.
"Sienna..." Landon Lawson furrowed his brow. As for Sienna’s character, he knew her well enough; she would rather be outmatched than resort to plagiarism. Furthermore, knowing they were the second to report, why would she go for such a self-damaging move?
Sienna Quinn coldly looked at Landon Lawson, her mocking smile stinging him.
"I just didn’t expect President Lawson to be so unscrupulous in order to win, even resorting to such despicable acts."
Landon Lawson’s face didn’t look good. Was it possible Sienna Quinn thought he was the one responsible?
"Sienna, what exactly are you saying?"
"What am I saying, isn’t it obvious to President Lawson? I thought you were at least principled in business, but it seems that’s not the case."
Sienna Quinn coldly glanced at Landon Lawson, her eyes full of ridicule.
The theft of the design proposal instantly whipped up a storm within the company, with Sienna Quinn bearing the brunt of the enemy attack.
Inside and outside the company, people were discussing it. Rumors spread that Sienna intentionally let things slide for Landon Lawson; after all, a couple’s bond lives on past a single day, shared beds and pillows are ties that others can’t match.
The rumors within the company had severely disrupted Sienna Quinn’s work.
The board looked at Axel Yates, with one of the leaders glaring at him: "Is this the person you brought in? The one who sold out the company?"
"This type of person shouldn’t stay in the company anymore. If this continues, I fear she’ll take the company down with her."
"The old President left the company to you, not for you to mishandle ." New ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄhapters are published on NovєlFіre.net
Faced with the board’s accusations, even Axel Yates had no recourse.
He sighed helplessly; for both the company’s sake and Sienna’s, she needed to first be suspended.
Axel Yates opened the door, seeing Sienna Quinn seated at her desk, a faint smile on his lips: "Why are you still sitting here? It’s already lunchtime."
Sienna shook her head. In such a situation, how could she go to eat?
Axel already knew she would be , gently clapping his hands. Danielle Carter brought the ordered lunch in, placing it on Sienna’s desk.
"I knew you wouldn’t go eat, so I, as the president, will join you for lunch here."
Axel Yates opened the box, placing the warm food in front of Sienna Quinn. By his demeanor, if Sienna didn’t eat, he wouldn’t leave.
"You’re the president of the company; you don’t need to go to such lengths."
"Precisely because I’m the president, I need to soothe the employees’ morale. What’s wrong with that?" Axel Yates was unconcerned, placing the chicken leg from his meal into Sienna’s bowl.
"It’s just a business deal, why go through all this?"
"Do you... trust me?" Sienna’s voice was somewhat weak, aware of the rumors outside, even though Sean Carter and Danielle had tried their best to keep the discussions from her ears.
But how could she not understand?
Selling out the company is a taboo within this industry; once proven, no company would want someone with such a blemish.
Axel Yates gently rubbed Sienna Quinn’s hair, "You’ve worked under me all these years. How could I not know your character? Do you think I would discredit you over this incident?"
Back when Yates Group and Lawson Group had many interactions domestically and internationally, Sienna was always fair and just. It was precisely because of her that the France branch could swiftly grow to its current stature within a few short years.
Though still not comparable to older French conglomerates, it has firmly established itself.
But Axel’s faith in her doesn’t mean others will believe in her as well.
"With all the rumors outside these days, you should go home and rest for a few days. Return once the public pressure subsides."
Sienna put down her chopsticks, fully aware of Axel’s predicament.
Even though Axel trusted her, the company held doubts against her, making it difficult.
Sienna nodded, packed her belongings, and drove home. This blow was immense for her.
Hector Warren and the other two sat at the company cafeteria eating, heads bowed, saying nothing.
Nearby at another table, employees from another department talked, their voices just loud enough for the three to hear.
"This time, the collaboration with HR Group seems off the table. With someone like Sienna inside out, how can we win?"
"And I heard she gave the design proposal to Lawson Group. I never thought she’d be that kind of woman. I trusted her so much before, a typical farmer and snake scenario."
Hearing the discussions, the two-day-old incident had not yet calmed. Hector Warren sighed, saying, "I always feel this situation wasn’t President Quinn’s doing."
"How can you be so sure? If I were her, I would’ve leaked the proposal to Landon Lawson too. Such a fine, handsome man, I’d do anything for him."
Chloe Langley cupped her face, full of admiration.
