Chapter 400: Chapter 400
Evan Quinn suddenly had an expression like an avatar, looking at Landon Lawson in front of him, with a big smile on his lips: "Come over quickly and have a look at this program, I’m having some trouble with it."
"I’ll help you check it right now." Landon Lawson suddenly said to Evan Quinn.
Evan Quinn nodded with a cheerful smile, and only then did Landon Lawson turn his head toward Felix Orwell, "Given the situation, I really have to entrust this matter to you. Apart from you, I don’t know where else to find help."
Felix Orwell’s lips pressed slightly. He knew Landon Lawson was truly at the end of his rope, or he wouldn’t be asking a rival to help... This text is hosted at novel•fire.net
With Felix Orwell’s assurance, Landon Lawson finally breathed a sigh of relief, his lips curling into a helpless smile, and then he turned and walked toward Evan Quinn.
Felix Orwell watched Landon Lawson’s departing figure with a hint of loneliness. In Felix Orwell’s heart, an unexpected sense of sympathy arose.
Though he and Landon Lawson were rivals, they should be as irreconcilable as fire and water, yet at this moment, he felt sympathetic for this man, having feelings he cannot express, caring for someone he can’t keep by his side — perhaps nothing is more painful...
But even so, what can he do? Felix Orwell knew all he could do now was help Landon Lawson protect Sienna Quinn and Evan Quinn.
Axel Yates watched Landon Lawson and Evan Quinn in their blissful appearance, a hint of loneliness touched his smile. Even after all these years of kindness to Evan Quinn, he could never take the place of Landon Lawson in Evan’s heart — a father is a father, and no other man can replace that...
Axel Yates left Landon Lawson’s office quietly, knowing that perhaps all he could do now was simply leave silently.
Landon Lawson stood beside Evan Quinn, looking at what was merely a basic program, he slightly raised an eyebrow — Evan should have learned this long ago, so why can’t he even manage this simple task?
There was a touch of oddity in Landon Lawson’s eyes, and Evan Quinn, seeming to sense his thoughts, playfully pulled a funny face.
"I know you and Mommy aren’t doing well now, and you don’t plan on keeping me and Mommy. I just want to spend as much time alone with you in this limited time..."
Looking at Evan Quinn’s seemingly indifferent face, Landon Lawson felt a sharp pain in his chest.
This lovely Evan Quinn, why must she endure such cruel and painful things? Landon Lawson gently squatted down, holding Evan in his arms, guiding her through her computer program with care.
He truly didn’t want to push away Sienna Quinn or Evan, and only Landon Lawson understood how deeply reluctant and loving he was. Yet, these true feelings he couldn’t voice.
If Sienna Quinn and Evan knew about her current situation, they would never abandon him and leave... What would happen then isn’t something Landon Lawson could control.
Even with countless reluctance in his heart, Landon Lawson still had to restrain his impulses...
Evan Quinn leaned softly against Landon Lawson, inhaling the strong scent of masculinity, a sudden ache welled at her nose, her body trembled slightly...
Having finally found a father, but now having to leave again — this feeling is worse than never having had one at all.
Evan Quinn had been trying hard to restrain her emotions, but ultimately she broke down, tears uncontrollably streamed down, great droplets pattering onto her clothes...
Landon Lawson felt a cool sensation landing on the back of his hand. He furrowed his handsome brow, looking at Evan in his arms, seeing her once adorable little face already streaked with tears.
Landon Lawson wiped Evan’s tears tenderly, "Don’t cry anymore."
"I... I’m not crying!"
Stubbornly Evan Quinn spoke, turning her little face away so Landon Lawson couldn’t see.
But the more stubborn she was, the more Landon Lawson’s heart ached and reluctantly he held on...
Suddenly, a burst of urgent cellphone ringing shattered the air.
Landon Lawson saw the incoming call from Nolan Shaw, furrowed his brow slightly, then answered the phone.
After hearing Nolan Shaw’s words, Landon Lawson’s brow furrowed, his eyes flaring with intense anger.
"I’ll head over now."
Nolan Shaw came out of the restroom, smiling as he approached Sienna Quinn sitting at the tea shop. Sitting across from Sienna, he casually asked, "Why were you with Axel Yates just now?"
"Just some things happened."
Sienna Quinn laughed lightly, without offering much explanation. She still didn’t want Landon Lawson to know this matter.
Sienna pleaded with her eyes at Nolan Shaw, "Can you not tell Landon Lawson for now?"
Nolan Shaw’s expression turned awkward, offering an embarrassed smile. If Sienna had spoken three minutes earlier, he wouldn’t have made the call, but now it’s too late for anything.
Sienna watched Nolan Shaw closely, hoping for an answer to her unspoken question...
The sound of the door opening occurred, and Sienna paid no mind, only hearing the crisp pitter-patter of footsteps near her ear, gradually turning her head, to see a pair of polished shiny shoes, and those unusually long legs.
When Sienna saw the man’s cool face, her pupils suddenly tightened, somewhat avoiding his gaze...
Sienna gently bit her lip, finally understanding why Nolan Shaw hadn’t replied to her earlier — it’s likely Nolan already told Landon Lawson what he saw with Axel Yates...
Since Landon Lawson had arrived, how should she explain herself...
Landon Lawson’s furrowed brow remained locked on Sienna, his presence emanating dense anger.
From Nolan Shaw’s phone call, Landon learned that Nolan had seen Sienna and Axel together downstairs... Axel, a dangerous character, doesn’t Sienna understand? She nearly lost her life to that man... After such a huge lesson, she still hasn’t grown wiser — is she foolish?
"What’s really going on? Why were you with Axel Yates again?"
Landon Lawson asked directly.
