Chapter 216: Chapter 216
Landon Lawson watched as Felix Orwell playfully tilted Sienna Quinn’s chin with his finger, their close demeanor igniting a fire in him.
Vera Yates observed the expression in Landon’s eyes clearly, and commented seemingly unintentionally, "It seems Sienna and this man really have a great relationship. She takes him everywhere, regardless of the occasion. It’s a pity she fell for a pretty boy, though."
Vera shook her head helplessly, while Landon suddenly turned his head, intensely staring at her, saying, "If he’s not a pretty boy, do you think they’re well-matched?"
Vera hesitated for a moment and took another look at Felix Orwell, earnestly assessing, "Actually, the two of them really fit well together. As long as Sienna is happy, that’s all that matters."
"No! They’re not suited for each other at all!"
Landon snorted coldly, gritting his teeth, and his angry appearance made Vera feel a tug at her heart.
Vera’s voice turned somber, her nails digging into her skin, "Stephen, you were never the type to meddle in others’ affairs. Was it because of Sienna just now?"
"Then what was it?" Vera kept pressing, eager to understand Landon’s true feelings.
Landon pursed his lips with anger, coldly saying, "Because Clara Quinn provoked me."
How could Vera believe that?
She had been by Landon’s side for years, surely knowing how he was. For everything Clara did, the most Landon would feel is annoyance, but forcing her to apologize today was unprecedented.
Vera would never believe Landon was truly acting for his own sake.
Sienna glanced at the mischievous smile as she slapped his hand off her chin, "Don’t mess with me; I’m afraid to provoke your outside flings. Any random one showing up would be too much for me to handle."
Seeing Sienna so serious, Felix muttered with a hint of heartbreak, "But I can give up those flings for you."
Sienna found it amusing, instead of agreeing, she laughed heartily.
"Alright, I have to go on stage now. Watch how I charm the myriad beautiful women," Felix said, shaking his head with a bitter smile, "It’s a pity I hold affection for only you, yet you never take it to heart."
Sienna pouted, lightly patting his shoulder, "Okay, your drama is a bit much."
Seeing Felix leave jokingly, but at the moment he turned, the smile vanished from his face; his good nature was reserved only for Sienna.
All the lights went out, leaving only the stage lights shining brightly.
The host slowly began to speak: "Now let’s invite our President, President Orwell, to the stage."
Amanda Warren and Tom Quinn, standing below, clutched at Clara Quinn beside them, the three excitedly watching above, hoping she could win over the Young President Orwell to solve the Quinn Family crisis.
A tall and slender figure slowly walked up, with slightly long bangs covering his eyes and an alluringly wicked smile.
Below, a chorus of gasps could be heard distinctly.
The three Quinns were dumbfounded, expecting an opportunity, but upon seeing him, they realized he was the "pretty boy" they spoke of; their faces grew darker.
"Isn’t... isn’t that the man Sienna kept?"
Clara’s voice trembled at the unexpected turn of events.
Everyone exchanged confused glances as Felix took the microphone, "I’m new here and need everyone’s support."
His devilish grin left them dumbfounded.
"Isn’t that Sienna’s kept man? What’s happening?"
One person questioned in confusion.
"Can’t you see? Seems we misunderstood. Apparently, he’s the Young President of Orwell Group..."
These days, people mocked Sienna for supposedly carrying a child and unable to find a man, resorting to keeping one. Yet now they discovered, the man they considered a "pretty boy" was indeed the Young President of Orwell Group.
This alone set him apart from everyone else.
"What... what should we do?"
Tom muttered to himself, his face pale with fear, cold sweat trickling from his forehead, realizing for the first time they’d hit a dead end with Felix.
"Dad, what do we do now?"
Clara asked with a pale face, while Amanda was also indecisive, as none of them anticipated this.
Tom snorted and walked outside, knowing Felix’s connection with Sienna would never allow him to help them solve the current crisis.
Even though Clara was reluctant, she didn’t want to embarrass herself further.
As the three turned to leave, Felix’s voice suddenly rang out from the stage, "I heard someone wanted to catch a wealthy spouse here, Miss Quinn, do you still plan to catch me?"
Felix’s gaze pierced directly at the Quinn trio, amusing everyone.
The Quinn’s current situation was well known, hence everyone’s reaction.
The trio’s faces turned pitch black, but Felix’s status left them unable to express any grievance.
As they watched the trio leave in shame, Sienna’s mouth curled into a smile, realizing Felix was indeed vindictive, though she kind of liked it.
Vera’s brows furrowed upon learning Felix was the Young President, her eyes flashing with depth.
Sienna’s support system was growing stronger, making it harder to act against her. It seemed time to find an opportunity to strike.
Landon squinted, snorted coldly, and walked out.
Vera followed him closely, knowing staying by his side was the only path to her future.
This opening ceremony was merely to gain recognition; with the Orwell Family’s strength, even without others’ support, it posed no difficulty.
When it concluded, Felix walked down and handed Sienna a document, "This is the real gift I brought you upon returning." Chapters first released on novel·fiɾe·net
Looking at the file sealed in the envelope, Sienna took a deep breath, accepted it but didn’t open it.
Felix’s offerings weren’t trivial, causing Axel to look at the envelope with curiosity, wondering about Sienna’s mysterious activities, though he had no idea what kept her so busy daily.
Although Axel was curious, he didn’t ask. Seeing Sienna’s seriousness, he knew it was definitely not simple.
"Why be polite with me?" Axel crossed his arms, flashing a wicked smile.
