Chapter 195: Chapter 195

Sienna Quinn looked at the two people, one big and one small, sitting on the sofa across from her. They exchanged looks with each other, hesitant to speak, and their whole demeanor exuded unease.

Sienna gave a light cough, her gaze fixed on them, "Don’t you two have something you want to say to me?"

Evan Quinn extended his chubby little hand and patted Sean Carter on the shoulder. The latter shivered and mumbled softly, "Hurry up and say it."

Sean Carter hesitated, feeling Sienna’s gaze, and shrank his neck, "Why don’t you say it."

"You’re the adult; you need to take responsibility."

"But you’re the one who did it."

Sienna watched the two of them arguing incessantly, her brows furrowed. She let out a cold snort, "Spit it out!"

As she spoke, she pointed a finger at Sean Carter, who muttered reluctantly, "Okay, we’ll admit it. Evan and I were the ones who did this."

Hearing Sean Carter’s confirmed answer, Sienna glared fiercely at Evan Quinn. Indeed, it was the two of them who were responsible. From the start, Sienna felt something was off about them today but couldn’t pinpoint what. Now it seemed they had manipulated Clara Quinn.

Evan pouted in defiance, "It’s just that bad woman had other intentions."

Sienna was taken aback for a moment, then realized that Clara Quinn was unusually eager to have him drink today. However, in the end, it was Clara who was drugged. So, from the beginning, the two glasses had been swapped, though Sienna couldn’t figure out why something prepared by Clara ended up embarrassing her instead.

But now it appeared that this was all orchestrated by the two of them.

How did they find out?

"That Vera Yates, she said she was going to the restroom, but she didn’t head in that direction at all." Evan suddenly lifted his little face, appearing indignant, clearly displeased as to why Sienna was siding against him and Sean Carter.

If it weren’t for him and Sean Carter today, Sienna wouldn’t even know what might have happened to her. Instead of being grateful, she was now blaming them.

Sienna was surprised; she hadn’t expected to hear Vera Yates’s name in this matter. In her mind, this was entirely crafted by Clara Quinn.

Through their back-and-forth conversation, Sienna learned that Vera Yates had claimed she was going to the restroom, but instead she went in the direction of the kitchen, where she coincidentally saw Clara Quinn.

Using Clara’s slyness, Vera successfully manipulated her, making her act against Sienna herself, without Vera facing any repercussions. Sienna never anticipated that Vera Yates would also be involved in this incident.

"Fortunately, Evan realized it in time, otherwise you would have ended up just like Clara." Sean Carter looked at Sienna with concern. He had heard of the bad relationship between Sienna and Clara before, but had never taken it seriously. However, now it seemed their relationship really was that bad.

Drugging someone at a birthday party, in front of everyone, trying to bring Sienna down—was this really a family?

Not only was there no blessing, but there was also a concerted effort to embarrass her and a clear unwillingness to see her happy.

Before, Sean might have wondered whether such family members could really exist.

But now it appeared they indeed did.

Chiara Thorne stood by, bewildered as she listened. It took her a long moment to comprehend that Clara’s state was all due to these two, one big and one small. No wonder they were whispering to each other during the party.

So, there truly had been things kept from her.

"But how did you two switch them?"

In a childish voice filled with pride, Evan explained, "After stacking the champagne tower, I swapped the positions of the two glasses when she wasn’t paying attention."

"So the glass you later gave to Clara..."

Chiara Thorne realized all at once, covering her mouth with her hand in shock and disbelief.

No wonder Evan was acting so strangely that evening, insisting on personally giving the toast to Clara. It seemed every step of these two was meticulously planned.

Even the bickering between Sean Carter and Clara, Chiara suspected, could have been a part of it.

Chiara impulsively pulled Evan into a hug, affectionately ruffling his hair, her eyes brimming with care, "You’re such a little genius, taking after President Quinn’s brains, it seems."

Held tightly in Chiara’s embrace and being ruffled, Sean Carter finally breathed a sigh of relief, having initially thought the two would hold him relentlessly accountable. He was relieved this wasn’t the case, but just as he relaxed, he felt a chill.

Body shivering, he looked over toward Sienna’s unchanged stern expression.

Sean Carter swallowed hard; Sienna’s serious demeanor was truly a rare sight.

"Why act on your own? Couldn’t you have said something beforehand? Whose idea was this?"

Sienna’s voice was exceptionally cold as she looked at the face in front of her, expression still and eyes suddenly targeting Evan, her pretty face serious.

The little one, who had been playing around with Chiara, suddenly stiffened, staring blankly at Sienna.

"Mommy... I made the decision myself; it had nothing to do with Uncle Sean Carter."

"Who told you to do this?" Sienna uncharacteristically shouted at Evan.

Sean Carter and Chiara Thorne both jumped at her shout, exchanging bewildered glances, having never expected Sienna to react so strongly.

Since knowing Sienna, in all these years, it was the first time they saw her yell at Evan, this cute little one. She usually doted on him, having never had the occasion to shout at him before. Google seaʀᴄh novel⟡fire.net

Besides, Evan had always been so obedient and sensible, never making her angry.

But this time, both Sean Carter and Chiara Thorne clearly sensed that Sienna was genuinely angry, and very angry at that.

Evan pouted his lips, stubbornly meeting Sienna’s eyes, "I wanted to do it myself!"

"Evan, come on and apologize to your mommy." Chiara whispered a reminder, but seeing Evan’s unwillingness to admit fault, she knew his stubbornness clearly took after Sienna.

She exchanged a glance with Sean Carter and sighed helplessly.

Sienna’s gaze drifted toward Sean Carter and Chiara Thorne, "I won’t keep you two tonight. You still have to get up early for work tomorrow. Organize Chiara’s accommodation."

"Alright... but Evan..." Sean Carter looked worriedly at Evan, afraid that once he and Chiara left, Sienna might punish Evan out of anger.
