Chapter 164: Chapter 164

"How’s their restaurant?" Axel Yates slowly curled his lips, watching Sienna Quinn eat.

Sienna continued stuffing food into her mouth, speaking without lifting her head, "It’s really delicious, I want to bring Chloe here."

Sienna put the last bite into her mouth, wiped the grease off her lips, and slowly spoke, "President Yates, I’ve already prepared the future business direction for the company and sent it to your email. Check it out when you have time."

Axel Yates let out a soft laugh, "You’re truly a workaholic, not forgetting work even while eating. I don’t know whether I should feel grateful or worried."

"Worried about what? I’m supposed to be off on the weekend, and there’s no overtime pay either." Sienna paused, was it not good to have someone who loves working like her?

Axel Yates gently shook his head, "Loving work is certainly good, but you also need to take care of yourself. If you keep this up, I’m really afraid you’ll wear yourself out. If it gets to that point, people might say the Yates Group mistreats employees, not only affecting the company’s reputation, but no one would dare to apply to our group anymore."

Sienna burst into laughter, leaning her hands on her chin with interest, smiling brightly at Axel Yates. Her straightforward gaze actually made Axel blush.

He had never been stared at before, especially by a woman, especially now that he didn’t quite understand his own feelings. In the past, he had never been interested in Sienna or shy around her, but now merely being looked at by her a couple of times made him feel awkward.

"Why are you looking at me like that?"

"Just feel you’ve changed a lot lately." Sienna said as she looked at Axel Yates.

Axel was taken aback, "How have I changed?"

"You’ve become more humorous."

"Was I very rigid before?" Axel began to doubt himself. Was he a stick in the mud before?

Sienna shook her head; although Axel wasn’t rigid, he’d never joked around like he did now. Seeing him so talkative and carefree, Sienna felt pleased inside.

It seemed he must have walked out from the shadow, at least facing forward, and Sienna finally felt relieved.

"Not rigid, just more approachable now." Sienna said with a smile.

"Is that... do you... do you guys like it?"

Sienna paused, then broadened into a big smile, "Of course everyone will like it."

Seeing her radiant face like a blooming flower, Axel Yates felt happier; after all, he only cared about Sienna’s mood.

A message came through on his phone, the smile on his face gradually dissipated, frozen on his cheeks. He put away his phone and said to Sienna, "I have other things later, so I guess I can’t take you back."

"It’s alright, I can go back on my own." Sienna replied with a smile. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ noⅴelfire.net

Axel Yates put on his coat, suddenly feeling something odd. Looking at Sienna’s pretty little face and the hand she kept hanging down, he suddenly realized why it felt strange: from the start, one of Sienna’s hands remained tucked in her sleeve, never taken out.

Without saying unnecessary words, Axel Yates stepped forward and took Sienna’s hand, not letting her retract it quickly, he saw the bandage.

Seeing the bandaged hand, his brow furrowed slightly, "What happened here?"

"Just a minor scrape." Sienna deftly pulled her hand back, feeling awkward with Axel holding it, even though Landon Lawson had also held it, why did it feel different?

Axel Yates furrowed his brow, noticing Sienna didn’t want to talk further, so he didn’t pursue the subject; the message he’d received only showed the time. He really had no extra time to look after Sienna today, he could only remind her to be cautious, avoiding further injury.

Sienna watched Axel leave hurriedly, her brows lightly furrowing. Since receiving that message, Axel’s expression had changed; could there be news about his parents?

Axel Yates had just parted ways with Sienna when his phone rang. Nervously pulling it out, the caller ID was not that of the private investigator but of Felix Orwell; it must be late night in France.

Felix Orwell hadn’t called him in a long while, and surprisingly he hadn’t gone to sleep yet.

But then again, he had known Felix for a long time, even introduced Sienna to the Yates Group after Felix had spoken to him; although Sienna had strong abilities, how could everything go smoothly? Yet these matters, Sienna was unaware of.

"Just another routine inquiry," Axel Yates laughed softly, showing no sign of how eager he was to hang up.

Felix Orwell squinted his eyes, gripping the phone with a bulging vein, trying hard to control his inner rage.

"Anyway, it’s good to care more for our dear Sienna; such an outstanding person is often missed by others." Felix Orwell’s lips curled; ever since receiving Sean Carter’s call, his emotions had grown increasingly complex. He trusted Axel Yates only to take care of Sienna.

Felix Orwell’s playful voice didn’t reveal any suspicions to Axel Yates.

Felix Orwell raised a brow, his expression unpleasant, yet his voice remained steady. Sean Carter was indeed right; Axel Yates truly seemed to have different intentions towards Sienna.

"Has Sienna been bullied lately?"

Felix Orwell suddenly asked.

"No? No, that’s good." Felix Orwell lightly curled his lips, already informed by Sean Carter of Sienna’s injury. Could it be that Axel doesn’t know, or does he know but chooses not to speak?

Felix Orwell planned to give Axel two more days; if he didn’t call proactively within those days, it would confirm that he indeed had other thoughts towards Sienna.

"If anything happens to Sienna, you must inform me as soon as possible; I don’t want to see my dear Sienna getting bullied." Felix Orwell, as playful as always, with no change from the past.

"Of course, I’ll be aware of your intentions. If anything happens to Sienna, you’ll be the first to know."

"With that assurance, I’m relieved; I’ll be back in a while."

"You’re coming back?" Axel Yates was taken aback, furrowing his brow.

"Of course, I’ve got to protect my woman."

After hanging up, Felix Orwell’s lips slowly lifted into a smirk, his beautiful eyes glinting with unreadable light. Now it seemed not only Landon Lawson was eyeing Sienna, but Axel Yates too began to covet her.
