Chapter 150: Chapter 150
Landon Lawson looked at the two people sitting beside him, the corners of his mouth slowly curling up. Nolan Shaw had previously said to let the driver drive, but Landon refused. He wanted to drive personally and take this mother and child to spend a perfect Friday.
At this moment, Landon enjoyed the feeling.
Landon didn’t choose the Western restaurant he usually went to, instead he chose a newly opened one. Actually, Evan Quinn had already mentioned this Western restaurant to him. He had asked his secretary to investigate the best-reviewed restaurant long ago, and the reviews for this new one were excellent.
There was another reason too. Before their marriage, Sienna Quinn used to always follow Landon around, even going to the restaurants he liked. She would wait there, having already found out which places he preferred, and Sienna did this quite often.
Even now, Landon hadn’t forgotten how he had humiliated Sienna in a restaurant. Of course, Sienna hadn’t forgotten either. People often try to cover up unpleasant experiences, but Sienna was no longer the person she used to be. She understood Landon’s thoughts completely.
As Landon stopped the car, Sienna sat inside, giving a cold laugh: "Why didn’t we go to that restaurant? I remember you love the steak there."
"I haven’t gone there for a long time either; the food isn’t quite the same taste now. Let’s just eat here!" Landon answered calmly, without getting angry.
Sienna was somewhat aggressive. Today, she learned things about Miles Grant from Axel Yates. Although Miles and Landon were good brothers, Miles was the one who nearly took her life. The anger she held inside was unleashed at this moment.
If, if Landon wasn’t so blind, how would she have ended up dying on the operating table? They set her up repeatedly, and if Landon had believed her even once, perhaps her heart wouldn’t have been hurt so badly.
"Let’s go to the restaurant you often went to..."
Evan, who had been silent the whole time, seemed to have picked up on something, gently turning his eyes and shaking the hem of his mother’s garment with his little hand, "I’m hungry, Mommy. Just eat here! Daddy brought us; it must be good."
Looking at Evan’s little face, Sienna finally had to compromise.
"Alright, let’s eat here. After the meal, we’ll go home." Evan was always Sienna’s weakness. Whenever Evan made a request, Sienna would usually agree. If she couldn’t give him a complete family, she would at least try to fulfill all his wishes. Luckily, Evan was very well-behaved and never asked for anything excessive.
Five years had passed, and the only companion beside her was Evan.
Sienna took Evan’s little hand and walked in front, leaving Landon behind.
At this moment, Sienna was filled with disgust for Landon, just wanting to finish the meal quickly and take Evan home, never wanting to see this man who had once hurt her again.
"Wait for Daddy! It’s so pitiful for Daddy to walk alone." Evan held back Sienna, so she had to wait a while for Landon.
Landon stood behind, watching Sienna suddenly burst out in anger, and was at a loss. How had he offended her again?
Evan turned his head, his mind almost overwhelmed by the two. Why was it always endless worry?
"Daddy, hurry up!" Because of Evan’s persistence, Sienna finally took Evan’s hand, with Landon on the other side, and went upstairs.
"I’m in the middle, Mommy on the left, Daddy on the right. We are a family going to eat." Evan arranged the positions of the three.
Holding both of their hands, he led them into the restaurant. Evan watched the two finally calm down and secretly wiped his forehead, thinking how he’s being a child worrying so much for these two.
Though Sienna was unwilling, what could she do about her son’s request?
Landon narrowed his eyes, feeling there was something up with Sienna!
Looks like a good time to have a talk with her.
At the restaurant, Sienna sat next to Evan, while Landon took a seat directly across from her,
"Let’s have a fruit pizza," Sienna didn’t bother to ask Evan what else he wanted because she wanted to finish early and leave quickly.
"Daddy and Mommy aren’t eating? Am I eating all by myself?" Evan asked with his sparkling eyes.
"Mommy’s not hungry, and Daddy already ate at the office. It’s just you eating." Sienna cast a sharp glance at Landon while Evan wasn’t looking.
"How do you know I’m not hungry? I didn’t eat at the office." Landon chuckled coldly. Was Sienna really so unwilling to have a meal with him? Well then, he wouldn’t let her have her way.
Landon took the menu and ordered many dishes.
"One sirloin steak, medium-rare, one T-bone steak, medium, two servings of foie gras, one salmon salad, one vegetable salad, and let’s pop open a bottle of red." Landon’s gentlemanly manner was indeed charming. As much as she loathed him, Sienna couldn’t deny that Landon was an exceptional man.
Standing aside with the menu, the waitress blushed. This was the first time seeing such an outstanding man like Landon—aloof yet gentlemanly in manners and speech, the very image of a dream man for many girls.
Listening to Landon’s order, there was a hint of surprise in Sienna’s beautiful eyes. The things Landon ordered were all what she used to love five years ago.
"He actually remembered what I like to eat?"
Sienna observed Landon, his handsome face, healthy skin, delicate features, gentlemanly demeanor, even his long, beautiful fingers that she still remembered. This was indeed the man she had once loved.
Yet, the Landon of the past never cared about her. How would he know about these dishes? It was just a coincidence.
Sienna couldn’t allow herself to fall again. He had been so heartless to her before, the pain searing to the bone, and he never even knew.
Whatever he did now was solely for Evan’s sake, Sienna reminded herself silently, not to fall for Landon’s tricks again, nor hold onto those illusory fantasies.
"Can you eat all this stuff? You ordered so much?"
Sienna scoffed, and Landon seriously looked at Sienna’s delicate little face, finally opening his mouth slowly: "These are all things you like to eat."
"That was five years ago. It’s five years later now, and in that time, many things can change." Sienna mocked.
Landon’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. Five years indeed could change a lot, so in these five years, had Sienna’s feelings for him changed as well?
Landon couldn’t accept that, absolutely couldn’t.
Sienna was his wife, and for this lifetime, she could only be his. Tʜe sourcᴇ of thɪs content ɪs novel•fire.net
With his hands folded across his chest, he sneered: "Change? Some things are engraved deep within, not so easily altered."
Engraved deep within... Sienna murmured softly to herself. Yes, even after these five years of return, despite resenting his cruelty and blindness, she couldn’t help but miss him occasionally.
