As Zixin was walking upstream, Baby Poldi sensed something and told Zixin about it which surprised him.
"Are you sure?" he asked and Baby Poldi affirmed.
"Great, quickly take me there!" Baby Poldi then led Zixin inside the forest where he hadn’t entered for a full two months, only walking along the river.
Baby Poldi led Zixin to what seemed to be a campfire site. The bourne fire had burnt leaving only ashes, there were also small tents set up but surprisingly, there was no one inside the tents because they were all outside. About ten people had collapsed on the ground with their eyes open. Clenched teeth as though in pain with veins covering their bodies.
Zixin squatted down and checked the pulse of one of these people and was shocked to find out that he was still alive. The person used all his energy to convey his message through his gaze.
’Please help us.’ That’s what his gaze was saying. Zixin nodded, then stripped off the man’s clothes and frowned. Around the man’s heart, the veins around it were thickest and on the verge of exploding. Zixin’s frown quickly turned into elation. His antennae moved up and down a few times then stopped.
Zixin then waited for a few minutes. In these few minutes, the veins that had appeared were receding and disappeared into the body. After that, the incapacitated man felt something moving up his throat and out through his mouth. It was an insect that closely resembled an alate termite and it was also a Pseudo Rank 1 insect.
Zixin went to the others and did the same thing to them and quickly collected the insects, ten Pseudo Rank 1 insects.
About an hour later, these guys regained their ability to move and speak.
"Thank you. Thank you so much for your help." They immediately thanked Zixin for helping them with tears in their eyes, and all of them were kneeling while doing so.
"You’re welcome. You’re welcome." responded Zixin. After thanking him profusely, the group wore their clothes, eight males and two females. The two females had good figures and big breasts, usually, Zixin would have been moved but he was too excited about the insects to care about anything else.
The group then started a new fire, took out meat from their storage artefacts and started cooking. While cooking, Zixin sat down with them and finally asked the million dollar question.
"My name is Robert and I’m the leader of this adventurer group. We took a mission from the guild to investigate the sudden death of many Magical Beasts in the outskirts of the forest. The mission was easy but with great rewards so we accepted it. It wasn’t just us though who accepted this mission but other F-Rank Adventurer Groups accepted the mission.
This mission led us all the way to the boundary between the Green Forest Outskirts and Inner Domain, where there was a mound with a swarm of insects. That’s how the insects entered our bodies and made our lives a living hell. Many people died and we too would have suffered the same fate if it weren’t for you." explained Robert.
"You’re very lucky. These bugs aren’t ordinary bugs but the Blockade Termites. They usually live in Mana Veins and devour Mana stones to survive but once the Mana stones are completely devoured, they leave their homes to look for Mana rich places. They produce a special saliva that blocks Mana from escaping the core, in your case, blocking your Mana Veins to store all the Mana in your hearts and feast on it. You’re lucky to have met me." explained Zixin. All this information was obtained from the Blockage Termites.
The group’s eyes widened in shock and also enlightenment. They finally understood what had happened to them.
"Sir, thank you very much for your help. We’ll do everything in our power to repay you for your kindness. You can ask us for anything and we’ll get it for you." said Robert solemnly. Zixin thought for a while before answering.
"Some proper clothes would be nice, hehe."
"Hahaha! Of course, of course." Robert burst out in laughter as someone from his group gave Zixin some clothes which he wore on the spot and then they started to chat while eating.

Through their conversations, Robert discovered that Zixin was clueless about a lot of things and patiently explained everything to him. Not far from here was the Wulliz City, territory of the Wulliz Viscount Family. This place had four major organisations, the Wulliz Family, the Holy Church, the Mage Tower and the Adventurers Guild.
This was also a place where magic was the mainstream power system and all other power systems inferior to it. The source of all powers came from Mana, a type of energy with magical powers. Mages use Mana to cast spells, Barbarians/Knights use Mana to reinforce and strengthen their bodies. There are a lot of other professions like Runesmiths, Blacksmiths, Alchemists, Puppeteers, Dark Mages, etc.
There are also a myriad of races that exist in this world like goblins, orcs, elves, trolls, giants, vampires, werewolves, druids, treants, angels, demi humans, Beastmen, dragons, dwarves, humans, etc. Some yet to be discovered. Mages and all Mage types gauge their strength with Stars while Magical Beasts and other creatures gauge their strength with Ranks.
Organisations rank themselves from Bronze all the way to Platinum and each rank is separated into three stars to determine the level of strength of said organisation. Anything below 1 Star or Rank 1 is called an Apprentice for professions and Pseudo for Magical Beasts and creatures.
"Can I travel with you till we reach the city? As you can tell, I’ve been living in seclusion my entire life and want to experience life in the city. If that’s not too much to ask."
"Hahaha, of course you can come with us. You’re our benefactor afterall, we’ll even split the mission rewards with you."
"That would be great!"
"Since we’ve finished eating. Let’s go to the city immediately! Guys, pack up, we’re leaving!"
