Chapter 273: Chapter 273
All the babies immediately nodded, unified for once.
"Yeah! Miss Alina!" Boo cheered. "Because she’s kind and never bans flying!"
"She also gives snacks!" Drake added.
"And hugs," Sable whispered softly, smiling.
Professor Hobb froze, staring at them blankly as every child began passionately writing about Miss Alina instead of him.
After five minutes, Boo proudly raised his paper. "Done! Title: Why Professor Egg Is Not My Favorite Teacher."
Drake slammed his notebook on the desk. "Mine too! I even added drawings!"
Luna leaned back, smirking. "I made a list of ten reasons why Miss Alina is better."
Hobb’s eye twitched so hard it could’ve started a small earthquake. "You... all... FAIL!" he roared.
Boo giggled, spinning again now that class was chaos. "Aww, Professor Egg failed us first! It’s mutual!"
And with that, Class D erupted into laughter, leaving the poor professor staring at his desk in utter defeat, silently praying for Miss Alina’s immediate return.
Professor Hobb pinched the bridge of his nose, already regretting every life choice that led him to this classroom. "Alright," he muttered, forcing patience. "Let’s see... Luna, you start. Read your essay."
Luna stood up proudly, flipping her notebook open like she was about to present an award speech. Her golden brown eyes sparkled with pure confidence. "My favorite teacher is Miss Alina," she began, clearing her throat with dramatic flair. "And I have ten reasons why she is my favorite teacher."
The whole class leaned forward. Even Boo rested his chin on his desk, whispering to Drake, "Ten reasons?! This is going to be legendary."
Luna straightened her back and began reading aloud in her serious little-wolf voice:
"Number one! She is a good teacher."
Professor Hobb nodded reluctantly. "Reasonable start."
"Number two! She knows how to teach us."
"Still fair..." he murmured.
"Number three! Her voice is pretty."
"...Pretty?" Hobb frowned. "We’re grading teaching, not singing."
"Number four! She looks pretty."
Boo gasped dramatically. "Ooooh, Luna’s in love with Teacher!"
Luna glared. "Shut up, Ghost!"
"Number five!" she continued with authority. "She is easy to pursued."
"Persuade," Felix corrected politely from his seat.
"Whatever," Luna said firmly. "It means she listens to me."
"Number six! Sometimes she gives us snacks and gifts."
"Number seven! She is a good teacher because she never ignores anyone, even when I’m angry."
That earned some "aww" sounds from the class, and even Professor Hobb’s expression softened slightly.
"Number eight! She praises me in front of my daddy," Luna said proudly.
Drake snorted. "You just like showing off!"
"Number nine!" Luna raised her finger. "Just because I like her."
"Number ten!" She crossed her arms and smiled smugly. "She’s a good teacher because I say so."
The class burst into laughter. Boo fell halfway through his desk laughing, Kelpie clapped his wet hands, and even Lucien hid a small smile behind his book.
Professor Hobb sighed deeply, rubbing his temple. "That’s... certainly a creative evaluation."
Luna tilted her head, smiling sweetly. "So, I pass?"
He blinked. "Pass? This isn’t an exam."
"Good!" she interrupted, sitting down triumphantly.
Drake raised his hand next. "Can I read mine? Mine’s emotional."
Boo snickered. "That means he cried while writing it."
"I did not!" Drake shouted, clutching his notebook. "It’s just powerful!"
Professor Hobb groaned under his breath. "Oh, for the love of the underworld, what did Miss Alina do to these kids..."
Drake stood up with the exaggerated seriousness of a tiny businessman about to deliver a TED Talk. He cleared his throat and gave Professor Hobb a babyish mature, judging look.
"I take that as a yes," Drake said confidently, before adding with the gravitas of someone twice his age, "And, Professor Egg, you need to be more present in life. You always murmur to yourself."
The entire class went silent for a split second, then Boo snorted so loudly it echoed off the walls. "HAHA! He said you need to be present!"
Felix smirked elegantly. "That’s... honestly accurate."
Kelpie started clapping. "Good advice, Drake! Water always listens to its surroundings. You should too, Professor Egg!"
Hobb’s lips twitched. He was trying so hard not to lose his temper or laugh. It was unclear which emotion was winning.
Drake crossed his arms, completely oblivious to the danger of his words. "It’s not healthy, you know," he continued sagely. "Talking to yourself all the time. My mom says people who do that need more hugs." Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭·𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘦·𝘯𝘦𝘵
That did it. Boo fell off his chair—well, halfway through it—and was rolling midair, howling with laughter. "He needs hugs!! Professor Egg needs HUGS!"
"ENOUGH!" Hobb shouted, slamming his book on the desk. "I do not need hugs!"
Drake blinked innocently. "Are you sure? You sound like someone who needs hugs."
The class exploded again, giggles bouncing around the room like fireworks. Even Luna, who usually stayed grumpy, was wiping tears from her eyes.
Professor Hobb dragged a hand down his face and muttered under his breath, "If Miss Alina doesn’t come back tomorrow, I’m applying for early retirement."
"See?" Drake said cheerfully, wagging his tail. "There you go again, murmuring to yourself!"
Hobb froze mid-motion. His lips twitched again. He was seconds away from exploding.
And Boo whispered to Drake, snickering, "You just unlocked Professor Egg’s final stage of anger. I’m proud of you."
Drake puffed up his chest proudly, holding his notebook like it was a prized treasure. "Alright, everyone listen carefully," he said in his most serious voice. "This is my essay about my favorite teacher, Miss Alina!"
Professor Hobb muttered under his breath, "Finally, something normal," and crossed his arms.
"Ahem," Drake said in a tone so serious that even Boo stopped spinning and looked at him curiously. "I wrote something very deep. Very emotional. So no one laugh!"
He threw a glance at Boo, who quickly zipped his ghostly mouth shut, literally, just to prove his innocence.
Drake cleared his throat again, flipped open his notebook, and began reading aloud.
"My favorite teacher is Miss Alina because she always teaches us nicely. She never gets angry even when we ask too many questions. And she always smiles when we learn something new."
Professor Hobb leaned against the desk, looking unimpressed but secretly listening carefully.
