Chapter 1985: Chapter 1985
Watching as the soldiers began contacting other combat units at Cloud Gorge Base, Yi Huangcheng also removed the exoskeleton armor from his body, swiftly drawing the menacing live weapon from his arm and putting on the Divine God Armor again.
He moved towards the pile of ruins where the black zombie had charged in earlier; his task was to eliminate this zombie!
But by now, the opponent was already terrified of him. It may be reckless, but it wasn’t foolish. It had realized that it couldn’t possibly defeat the man in black armor!
Once it pushed out of the ruins, it kept retreating, wary of Yi Huangcheng’s every move. The original predator had, over time, become the prey!
Yi Huangcheng’s movement speed gradually increased, and the live weapon in his hand started emitting a sinister hissing sound!
At this moment, noises erupted from afar, drawing attention. A massive hole seemed to be carved out from the ruins formed by collapsing buildings, revealing dark insides, but Yi Huangcheng could see a pair of crimson, glowing eyes in the darkness!
They were very familiar; Yi Huangcheng instantly recognized them as the eyes of a silver-armored zombie!
This stunned him for a moment.
The entire Cloud Gorge Base, aside from their leader Zombie King, only had four silver-armored zombies: Hu Ji, Chu Zha, Saio, and Heiya. These four would never leave Tang Ye’s side unless it was a special situation, so who was this silver-armored zombie?
Tang Ye couldn’t possibly be unaware!
Befuddled, Yi Huangcheng first considered the possibility of an out-of-control silver-armored zombie!
Yet, this made even less sense; with the Zombie King present, even an out-of-control silver-armored zombie would obediently kneel!
Even Xu Haishui, a mental-evolution zombie with extreme dominion and possessiveness, would give way to Tang Ye, not to mention just an out-of-control silver-armored zombie!
Yi Huangcheng immediately wanted to approach and investigate, taking steps towards the mysterious silver-armored zombie. But after just two steps, several playing cards whizzed past his eyes, time seemingly slowing down several folds at that moment! Check latest chapters at 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩✶𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚✶𝕟𝕖𝕥
As soon as he saw the patterns on them, Yi Huangcheng’s pupils contracted under his visor, and his heartbeat surged several notches!
All his attention was immediately drawn, and he jerked his head, looking towards where the cards flew from, quickly spotting a figure in a black cloak in the distance.
The target he had been obsessing over all this time!
He abandoned the unknown silver-armored zombie, removing the Divine God Armor that covered him, maintaining the lightest state for his body, and dashed towards the figure like a phantom!
This action left the amnesiac Zheng Minghui dumbfounded. Despite his memory loss, some habits hadn’t changed, as he instinctively blurted out: "Damn! How irresponsible!"
"Kill that black bastard first, hey!" Zheng Minghui didn’t even know how he managed to say these words fluidly; it just came out when he opened his mouth. But after speaking, the pain in his chest made tears well up instantly, and blood poured out uncontrollably.
Yi Huangcheng paid him no mind; his sole focus was catching up to Xu Haishui!
Luckily, the commotion of the battle had drawn attention, with some nearby Level 8 New Humans rushing over as they sensed something amiss.
In the shadows, a man wearing a baseball cap watched Yi Huangcheng’s rapidly departing figure in a daze. Initially, he thought the other had sensed some danger, but upon reconsideration, he realized that wasn’t the case at all. What could it be, then?
But he didn’t bother to think it over much, glancing at the fragmented Sky Continent above due to the nuclear explosion, smiling knowingly and mysteriously muttering, "That makes sense..."
After speaking, he snapped his fingers, causing the mysterious silver-armored zombie hidden in the darkness to vanish without a trace.
On the other side, upon realizing that Yi Huangcheng’s attention had successfully been drawn away, Xu Haishui invigorated his spirit and started sprinting.
Yi Huangcheng, seeing his actions, was filled with rage, shouting, "Stop there, bastard!" As the words fell, the muscles in his calf bulged, and all his strength poured into the ground, instantly whipping up a fierce gust of wind. Yi Huangcheng himself leapt into the air, spreading his arms, gliding swiftly towards Xu Haishui, who had already leapt to the ground!
Xu Haishui turned back with an inexplicable smile, but didn’t slow down a bit, running faster and faster, until his figure stretched into a blur, making it impossible to see clearly. Seeing this, Yi Huangcheng’s heart sank, silently pressing a small inconspicuous device at his waist.
Simultaneously, Chu Zha, who was playing cards with Heiya, paused, the card, Wang Zha, he was about to play stopping in mid-air. He looked up, locking eyes with Heiya. Then, along with Hu Ji and Saio beside him, they all turned their eyes to Tang Ye, who was watching the news on the sofa.
Tang Ye didn’t speak, just raised his hand, and the four brothers understood immediately, standing up and heading out. After they left, Tang Ye also got up to switch off the TV, gazing at the snow-laden sky outside, muttering, "Only for you to show yourself at this time, seems you’ve found an excuse..."
Shifting perspective back to Yi Huangcheng, he and the runaway Xu Haishui were in a relentless pursuit. Initially, Xu Haishui was fast, making it hard for Yi Huangcheng to keep up. Yet, gradually, Yi Huangcheng noticed Xu Haishui’s speed was inexplicably slowing down—not purposefully, as closer scrutiny revealed.
Amazingly, Yi Huangcheng sensed Xu Haishui’s presence, the rhythms of breath and heartbeats indicating someone in an unruly state and hinting at Xu Haishui’s deteriorating condition, with no intentional slowing down.
"Brother Xu, stop! I don’t know what happened to you, but I know you won’t get far!" Yi Huangcheng aggressively shouted to remind him, but Xu Haishui ignored the words, charging on, though his diminishing speed was undeniable.
Eventually, Xu Haishui’s running figure wavered, as if intoxicated, failing to respond to obstacles ahead, ramming through one building after another. At this moment, Yi Huangcheng’s speed was enough to overtake and cut in front of him!
Yet, remembering old ties, Yi Huangcheng refrained, understanding Xu Haishui’s stubbornness, like an unruly youth now aged yet unwilling to accept his declining state.
Ultimately, time conquers all, akin to Xu Haishui at this moment, again reaching the brink of collapse, crashing into a small courtyard, scattering boxes inside into disarray.
Yi Huangcheng had shifted from running to walking, quietly entering the courtyard, closing the door behind, frowning at Xu Haishui’s now muddy body.
"How did your body become ?"
