Chapter 1953: Chapter 1953
"Oh f*ck, what now!" Zheng Minghui, just starting to relax, hadn’t even warmed his seat when he heard a loud crash and jumped up, nearly hitting his head on the tarp roof!
Shen Mingke quickly turned over, stuck his head out again, and looked towards the front of the convoy. Flames blazed, with Liang Junsong scrambling out of the truck ahead. Realizing something was off, he jumped out of the truck and swiftly glided backwards to escape.
But the foremost truck, engulfed in roaring flames, suddenly stood upright as if lifted by something. In the blink of an eye, it was tossed, tracing a perfect arc through the air and crashing down precisely on the fleeing Liang Junsong!
The terrifying force unleashed by the explosion sent the truck Shen Mingke and Zheng Minghui were in skidding sideways, half-buried in mud!
The tarp on the side flapped loudly in the wind!
"Oh my God!" There was no need to look to know that something terrible had happened at the front of the convoy. The next second, as if on reflex, the two of them leapt off the truck, followed by others who also jumped down, faces filled with horror as they ran frantically in the direction they came from!
But compared to the two, the reactions and speed of ordinary people were slow as snails. In a flash, the two of them had run out of sight. Follow current novᴇls on 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡⁂𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚⁂𝙣𝙚𝙩
Not far away, Liang Junsong had just pushed off the truck crushing him and saw the two racing off like hell. He roared, "Wait for me!"
His voice was loud, surely they heard him, but would they do as Liang Junsong said? Of course not!
They didn’t stop; instead, their legs moved with greater urgency and speed!
They wished they could use all their strength from eating just to escape!
Seeing this, anger boiled inside Liang Junsong, but being the only Level 7 New Human among such a large group, his dense blood aura made him the prime target. Without having time to think, he started sprinting as he pushed the truck off him.
The next second, a roar echoed from the front of the convoy – a Level 8 zombie!
And how could this Level 8 zombie let such a big prey escape? It immediately ignored the others, its shape darting along the road, leaving afterimages, and those unlucky enough to be hit were instantly torn to pieces!
Soon, Liang Junsong, who hadn’t run far, felt a massive force attacking from behind. He couldn’t resist, losing control and hitting the ground hard!
The desolate asphalt shattered into chunks, flying into the sky before raining down like a storm.
A monstrous zombie claw suddenly grabbed his hair, forcefully flipping him over, revealing a zombie shrouded in black substance. Bone spurs rose from its body, making his heart pound fiercely, with fear spilling from his face!
"No...no!" he screamed, but the Level 8 zombie clutching his hair had no mercy, its claw reaching into his abdomen, the intense pain abruptly sharpening his senses. Realizing this damned zombie wouldn’t spare him, he showed courage not usually seen under the threat of death!
His face twisted fiercely, shouting angrily, "F*ck, I’ll fight you!" As he mustered his strength to raise his fist and deliver all his might onto the zombie’s head, it was akin to a baby hitting an adult’s cheek, feather-light and powerless.
The Level 8 zombie didn’t even flinch when hit.
This reaction drove Liang Junsong to utter despair, and he began pleading, humbly trying to communicate with the Level 8 zombie.
Some Level 8 zombies could communicate with humans, but it depended on luck. If lucky, maybe a zombie capable of communication wouldn’t kill him. Desperate to survive, Liang Junsong clung to this slim chance, striving for a fleeting opportunity to live.
He said, "Please don’t kill me, there are two more behind, go get them; I can lead the way for you, just don’t kill me."
However, his luck was bad. Despite using the humblest tone, this Level 8 zombie was unmoved, or perhaps it didn’t understand human language at all, maybe seeing Liang Junsong’s pleading as provocation?
So, as Liang Junsong pleaded loudly, the Level 8 zombie slowly opened its arms, insect-leg-like segments protruding from its chest locking onto his body, embracing him tightly. This act stunned Liang Junsong, but the next second he was engulfed in excruciating pain; the zombie’s bone spurs stabbed into him!
The pain stemmed from this!
He wanted to resist, but he was helpless.
The bone spurs that pierced his body began to swell after absorbing his blood, burst out of his back, and extended grotesque lengths! The zombie’s segmental arms embraced tighter, and soon, Liang Junsong grew weak, his skin losing its plumpness.
All the nutrients in his body were sucked dry by the zombie, quickly reducing him to a desiccated corpse in its embrace!
This zombie, possibly starving for who knows how long, wasn’t even willing to let go of a dried-up corpse. Its abdomen tore open like a massive bloody maw, drawing Liang Junsong’s corpse in, and consuming it entirely!
In its arms, the zombie’s belly swelled grotesquely like a pregnant woman’s, but soon deflated, disappearing with nothing left, having consumed every piece of matter from Liang Junsong’s body, leaving not even a molecule behind!
Elsewhere, Zheng Minghui and Shen Mingke ran frantically, blindly fleeing with no escape path. They only had two options: the first was Shaoyuan City, but that ancient city was occupied by silver-armored zombies, rumored to contain several Level 8 silver-armored zombies; going there was suicide!
The second option was to head back to Cloud Gorge Base, but the wilderness was too dangerous; encountering a Level 8 zombie on their first day meant they would be killed by those high-level zombies before reaching other survivor bases!
Despite Cloud Gorge Base facing the threat of an approaching Zombie King, with Su Sigui, a Level 9 New Human present, Cloud Gorge Base couldn’t fall as easily as other survivor bases.
