Chapter 1950: Chapter 1950
Shen Mingke was full of doubts, but Zheng Minghui had already sunk into an immense happiness. He was no longer as hesitant as before and pushed Shen Mingke towards the fertilizer factory.
Liang Junsong seemed to genuinely consider himself the local emperor here. As they entered the factory gate, two men were on guard, each holding a steel fork, one with squinting eyes, the other with a crooked mouth, looking comical. As they entered, the two guards were ridiculed, their faces turned livid with anger, but they dared not say anything.
As they bypassed the crowd, Zheng Minghui kept leering at a few women, who remained unmoved. He thought to himself, "Hey, wait till you’re lying obediently in my arms later, heh heh..." ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ 𝕟𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕝✶𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕖✶𝕟𝕖𝕥
It wasn’t until the two entered the office at the front of the crowd that Zheng Minghui reluctantly retracted his gaze.
Inside the office, a man with a crew cut sat bored on a dilapidated sofa, and this man was Liang Junsong.
After leaving Cloud Gorge Base, he indeed became the emperor of this group, but they had nothing. Leaving Cloud Gorge Base, their phones had no signal and were almost like bricks. As for weapons, his initial purpose was simple—just to escape Cloud Gorge Base and survive. His original plan was to settle at the Kayelong Survivor Base located south outside China, since it had been bypassed by the Zombie King Kamutos and not attacked, so it was safe for a short period.
On the way, the convoy encountered a Level 4 zombie. After killing part of the group, Liang Junsong had to step in. After dealing with that Level 4 zombie, he realized that among the over four hundred people in the convoy, aside from Shen Mingke and Zheng Minghui, the rest of the new humans were just him. At that moment, a bold idea came to him.
His strength wasn’t strong; at Level 7, he was at a mid to lower level, and that was putting it nicely.
Instead of continuing to be subordinate in other bases, why not be an emperor in some unknown wilderness?
With so many people, it was enough to fulfill his dream of becoming a ruler.
This idea came suddenly. Where would he prepare? Forget weapons, even the blockers for passing screenings cost him a lot of money!
Now, all he could do was watch his newly recruited underlings tirelessly training the crowd outside, dreaming that his newly established survivor gathering place would one day develop into a base, and then grow into a giant like Cloud Gorge Base!
Seeing Zheng Minghui and Shen Mingke entering, Liang Junsong quickly stood up from the sofa and greeted them with a smile, which surprised the two.
As the only two new humans besides himself among so many people, and two Level 6 new humans at that, Liang Junsong already considered them his trusted lieutenants. After all, they were the only ones he could rely on, and naturally, he valued them greatly.
"Brother Song, you..."
"You two finally came in, come, come, sit down."
Liang Junsong excitedly led the two towards the sofa he had just been sitting on. Although they followed, they didn’t dare to sit down.
"Um... Brother Song..." Shen Mingke seemed a bit scared and stammered. Seeing this, Liang Junsong realized he had been too enthusiastic and quickly toned down his smile, becoming a bit more serious.
"... If you won’t sit, then I will." Liang Junsong, face flushed and a bit too excited for a moment, invited embarrassment. He wished he could slap himself hard for his recent behavior.
But he didn’t do that.
Isn’t there a saying?
If you don’t feel awkward, the one who is awkward is someone else!
Zheng Minghui on the side almost wanted to laugh but seeing that the guy in front of him was a Level 7 new human, he didn’t dare to laugh out loud in the end.
"Brother Song..." Seeing him not speaking, Shen Mingke cautiously called out. After seeing Liang Junsong sit back down, he regretted it a bit; he should have just accepted it.
Offending someone is not polite.
But damn it, how could two people sit on a single-seat sofa?
The atmosphere was awkward for a few seconds, then Liang Junsong took a few deep breaths to compose himself. Finally, he looked at Shen Mingke before him. He had already asked him before, and now was just waiting for his response.
With his words, Shen Mingke sighed with relief. He glanced at Zheng Minghui beside him and nodded repeatedly, saying loudly, "I’ve decided, Brother Song. From today, the two of us brothers will follow you. If you tell us to go east, we’ll never go west! Right?" As he finished, Shen Mingke nudged Zheng Minghui with his shoulder, and the latter nodded obsequiously, "Yes, yes, yes. From now on, if you tell us to climb mountains of swords and seas of fire, we will... will... will be ready anytime!"
Even though Zheng Minghui acted as obedient as a dog, after speaking, he thought to himself, "In your dreams!"
However, one has to admit, their appearance as qualified lackeys was quite satisfying for Liang Junsong. He already considered them his men, so there was no reason to refuse. He only maintained an indifferent expression, nodded, and said, "That’s fine. But no matter what you say, it doesn’t matter. I want to see your performance, understand?"
"Understood, understood!" The two nodded so vigorously their heads were almost a blur, agreeing repeatedly. Then, Liang Junsong waved his hand and said, "Alright, it’s settled. You can go out now."
Hearing this, the two were a bit stunned, and their counterpart quickly explained, "There’s nothing else right now. Go outside to keep things in order and don’t let anyone escape."
"Well... alright then..." Among this large group, except for Liang Junsong, it was just the two of them as Level 6 new humans. Not to mention, this small task could be done effortlessly. However, Zheng Minghui didn’t leave immediately and instead cautiously moved beside Liang Junsong like a dog, which confused him.
"Well... Brother Song, I have a small matter I’d like to get your opinion on."
Zheng Minghui didn’t speak but simply pointed to a few women in the crowd outside the window. Liang Junsong took a look and instantly understood. But in that instant, his expression turned strange, yet he didn’t explain a word. After a brief pause, he generously said, "Since you’ve chosen to follow me, I definitely won’t treat you badly. Go ahead."
"Okay, Brother Song."
"Thank you, Brother Song!"
