Chapter 291: Chapter 291
"Nonsense, what’s this nonsense about having everything under control? You can’t even keep hold of things!"
"Really?" Kris Cooper extended his right hand. "Why don’t we... try again?"
"In your dreams!" Vera Wave rolled her eyes at him.
The man just chuckled, put away his phone from the table, and pressed the call bell to summon a waiter to order.
After ordering her favorite dishes, Kris Cooper’s gaze fell on her small face again.
"How’s your job going in the Advertising Department?"
"The preliminary work is complete. We’re just waiting on the voice-overs and background music. Other elements are progressing simultaneously, so it will definitely be done before next Monday!" As soon as she mentioned work, a glow radiated from Vera’s face. "President Cooper, just wait and see the results. I definitely won’t disappoint you!"
Of that, he was deeply convinced.
A moment later, the dishes were served.
Vera chatted with him about interesting incidents during the filming while they ate, making the meal a pleasant one. Latest content publıshed on novelFɪre.net
After the meal, the couple left the restaurant together and got into Kris Cooper’s car to head back to the old mansion.
Arriving in the living room of the rear courtyard, Kris Cooper put his laptop bag on the table, and Vera immediately moved close to him.
"You must be tired, darling. Why not take a bath first?"
"No way!" Vera rolled her eyes at him but soon laughed, gripping his shirt. "Darling, can I play with your phone?"
Kris Cooper casually took out his phone and handed it to her.
"The password is your birthday."
Taking the phone, Vera looked up at his face.
"Aren’t you afraid that I might... do something bad with your phone?"
"As long as it makes you happy, go ahead!" Kris Cooper reached out and softly pinched her small cheek. "I have some work to handle. I’ll be right with you when I’m done."
She immediately waved him off. "It’s okay, you go ahead and get busy."
Smiling at her, Kris Cooper picked up his laptop and went into the study room. Vera immediately took his phone, sneaked into their bedroom, and after scrolling through it, quickly found Irene Spencer’s phone number.
She smirked, quickly went into her messages, and composed a text to send.
"Are you free tomorrow night? I want to chat with someone."
Just after the message was sent, Irene Spencer texted back.
"Sure, where should we meet?"
"’Meet my foot!’" Vera muttered, but her fingers quickly typed another message: "Tomorrow night at nine, by the river behind the Star Creation Building. Wait for me at the third bench. Remember to keep a low profile; I don’t want to be photographed by journalists."
"Don’t worry, I know what to do. See you tomorrow."
"I’ve got something to deal with here. Let’s chat in person tomorrow."
After sending this message, Vera deleted the message history and then blissfully sprawled out on the bed.
"You big villain! Just you wait and see how I deal with you tomorrow!"
Kris Cooper walked in and saw her waving her arms and legs about excitedly on the bed. He chuckled, walked over, and hugged her waist from behind. He then pulled her down onto the bed and leaned over her.
"What mischief have you been up to that’s made you so happy?"
"Darling," Vera frowned, asking seriously, "does that Irene Spencer like you?"
Taking the phone, Kris Cooper went directly into his contacts, found Irene Spencer’s phone number, then took Vera’s finger, used it to operate his own phone, and added the number to the blocklist.
