Chapter 171: Chapter 171
Having put everything in order, Zhang Xiaohao left a Blood Sacrifice Fruit for Lei Kai. Disguised and with arrangements made by the War God organization, the party of three boarded a plane at the airport in the M country, heading back to Nanhua City.
"Brother-in-law, who exactly are you?" Cheng Qingsu asked. ɴᴇᴡ ɴᴏᴠᴇʟ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀʀᴇ ᴘᴜʙʟɪsʜᴇᴅ ᴏɴ 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭·𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢·𝗇𝗲𝘵
"I’m a man!" Zhang Xiaohao laughed.
"Nonsense! I’m not blind—I know you’re a man. That’s not what I’m asking," Cheng Qingsu said with irritation.
This question had been bottled up in her heart for the past three days.
She had always been looking for a chance to ask and only now had the opportunity.
Zhang Xiaohao stretched out his hand, felt her forehead, and said earnestly, "You don’t have a fever! Why are you talking nonsense?"
"Stop fooling around, brother-in-law! I’m trying to have a serious conversation with you; don’t change the subject," Cheng Qingsu said.
"Then go ahead!" Zhang Xiaohao said.
"Tell me, are you the direct descendant and heir to some major financial consortium or powerful influence?" Cheng Qingsu asked.
"Are you silly? If I were the heir to some major financial consortium or powerful influence, would I be here?" Zhang Xiaohao rolled his eyes and said.
"Then does your family have someone in politics or some super big wig of an organization?" Cheng Qingsu pressed on.
"You have quite the imagination! It’s just me in my family, I am an orphan," Zhang Xiaohao said.
"But that doesn’t make sense! Why would they listen to you then?" Cheng Qingsu wondered.
"When you’re out in the world, it’s all about money. I gave them money! Naturally, they would listen to what I have to say," Zhang Xiaohao said.
"But you are an orphan, aren’t you? Where did the money come from?"
"Your grandfather gave it to me," Zhang Xiaohao said with annoyance.
"How much money did my grandfather give you? Share and share alike, give me half, or else I’ll tell my sister," Cheng Qingsu’s eyes lit up as she demanded.
"You sure talk a lot! Just go to sleep honestly!" Zhang Xiaohao said.
After that, he closed his eyes to rest and paid her no more attention.
Cheng Qingsu chatted for a while, but seeing that Zhang Xiaohao wasn’t responding, she felt bored and started chatting with Chen Liyong.
Zhang Xiaohao slept very comfortably, all the way until the plane landed.
"Wake up, brother-in-law, we’ve arrived at the airport," Cheng Qingsu said, shaking him awake with a hint of irritation.
"Eh, we’ve already arrived? That was fast!" Zhang Xiaohao said.
"Not everyone can sleep for over ten hours straight like you. Even a pig can’t keep up with you!" Cheng Qingsu rolled her eyes and remarked.
"Hehe," Zhang Xiaohao chuckled.
The three of them disembarked from the plane and stepped outside the airport.
"Liyong, are you going back home now? Aren’t you coming to my place?" Cheng Qingsu said, holding her hand and showing reluctance.
"Yeah! I’ve been away for quite a while now, if I don’t return home, they’ll get worried," Chen Liyong responded in a soft voice, her cheeks reddening as she sneakily glanced at Zhang Xiaohao.
"Alright then! Just remember, after you’re finished with your busy schedule, you have to come over and hang out with me!" Cheng Qingsu instructed.
"Yeah," Chen Liyong nodded, looked back at Zhang Xiaohao with an affectionate gaze that plainly revealed her feelings. She then hailed a taxi and left.
"Brother-in-law, I didn’t expect that, at your age, you’d still have such charm, bewitching my good friend Liyong. If my sister knew you were flirting around outside, hehe, that would be quite the spectacle," Cheng Qingsu said with a mischievous smile.
"Cough! Cough! Stop talking nonsense. Your brother-in-law is a very serious person. How could I possibly be philandering around?" Zhang Xiaohao said.
He waved down a taxi and sat in the passenger seat.
Fearing being late and having that outrageous younger sister spout some more ridiculous remarks.
"Brother-in-law, wait for me!" Cheng Qingsu shouted, casting an unwilling glance at Zhang Xiaohao before reluctantly sitting in the back seat.
"To Heavenly Life Villa," Zhang Xiaohao said.
"Sure thing!" The driver smiled, giving Zhang Xiaohao a meaningful look before driving towards Heavenly Life Villa.
"Buddy, judging by your accent, you’re not from around here, are you?" the driver chuckled.
"No, I live there," Zhang Xiaohao replied honestly.
"Don’t kid me, man. I’m no fool. The houses there are very expensive, costing up to several hundred thousand per square meter, or even more! Each villa reportedly sells for close to ten million," the driver said.
"Heh," Zhang Xiaohao touched his nose and gave a wry smile. Nowadays, nobody believed the truth.
The driver, interpreting his expression as an admission that his lie had been exposed, felt awkward inside.
The corner of the driver’s mouth turned up, and a cold smirk appeared on his face.
He began to drive around the city with Zhang Xiaohao in the taxi.
"Master, this isn’t the right way! It’s been half an hour, how come we still haven’t arrived?" Zhang Xiaohao said teasingly.
"What do you know? I’ve been in this business for over twenty years, could I make a mistake?" the driver retorted.
"Heh," Zhang Xiaohao chuckled and then fell silent.
Seeing this, the driver thought Zhang Xiaohao believed him, and his smile grew wider.
After driving around the city for another hour, the driver finally headed towards Heavenly Life Villa. Upon arriving outside the villa, the driver brought the car to a stop and announced, "That’ll be one thousand and twenty. But since I like you, I’ll round down the change. Just give me a neat thousand."
"Here’s your fare," Zhang Xiaohao fished out a coin from his pocket and tossed it over before opening the car door and getting out.
"To think someone would dare to target my brother-in-law, they wouldn’t even know how they died," Cheng Qingsu sneered to herself as she opened the car door and stepped out, standing aside with her arms crossed in a typical tough girl pose, ready to watch the show.
"You brat, stop right there!" the driver bellowed.
He leaped out of the car and rushed to stand in front of Zhang Xiaohao.
"Do you think I’m some kind of beggar, that one yuan is charity?" the driver shouted furiously.
"Oh! How did you know? I haven’t said anything yet, and you already admit to it? That’s not very good, is it?" Zhang Xiaohao smiled and said.
"You’re looking for trouble, aren’t you? Don’t you know? In all the streets around here for miles, no one dares to stiff me on the fare! You should know who I was before..."
Before he could finish speaking, Zhang Xiaohao swung his hand and landed two hefty slaps across the man’s face.
With a kick, he sent him flying.
"Giving you face and you become cocky, huh? If another filthy word comes out of your mouth, you’re not leaving," Zhang Xiaohao said.
"You little punk, you dare hit me? Damn it, I’ll kill you!" the driver roared.
He got up from the ground and swung his fist, aiming for Zhang Xiaohao’s head.
"Scram!" Zhang Xiaohao’s eyes went cold, and with a kick, he sent the driver flying again.
He walked over, sneering.
"What do you want to do? I’m warning you, don’t mess around, or don’t blame me for being rude," the driver said, cowed.
When dealing with this sort of person, Zhang Xiaohao couldn’t be bothered to talk and just kept smacking him relentlessly.
