Chapter 60: Chapter 60
Derek charged up to the stairs to Marcella's room with Kathleen right behind him, he heard a grunt and noticed that the noise actually came from his father's room and not Marcella's, he entered through the connecting door into his father's room and his eyes bulged at the sight before him, Kathleen gasped.
His father was holding Marcella by the neck, Derek quickly ran to him to remove his hold, his father's eyes was glazed and in frenzy, with much effort, he succeeded in removing his father's grip, his dad fell on the bed with a thud and his breath evened out immediately.
Marcella was coughing, her face red, she stirred at the now sleeping form of her husband, "you asshole wanted to have me killed" she rasped.
Derek was confused as he stared at his dad's sleeping form, it was obvious that he didn't do it with a clear eye, one moment, his grip had been so firm on Marcella that he had a tough time in trying to remove it from Marcella and in the next minute, he was dozing looking so frail and pale, he quickly dialed the doctor's number.
Why was his old man looking sickler than before when he was still being treated, were his medications not okay? He looked so frail that for a moment, he regretted staying away from him. Kathleen put her hand on his arm as if reading his thoughts, her gaze sympathetic.
" I think your father was delirious a moment ago" the doctor explained and Derek grimaced, "he was so violent a moment ago" he explained
"And he almost choked me to death" Marcella chirped
"Someone who is delirious is often agitated, angered and filled with fear, there's a tendency to get violent, perhaps he's acting on that fear"
"But why try to choke me, I'm his wife" to Kathleen's ears, Marcella's tone suggested that Michael Deloux should her choked her instead and she scoffed.
"I've given him some medications to put him to rest, he should be okay"
Derek saw the doctor off to the door and Kathleen eyed Marcella suspiciously, not trusting her one bit,
"Oh please, he's my husband" Marcella scoffed storming off.
"Why does my dad look more sickly than ever? Do I need to have his medication changed?" Derek asked the doctor when they were outside, the doctor scratched his head, "you could have it changed but I don't think there will be any difference as he's already receiving the best medication"
"They why does it seem like his condition is getting worse?"
"We can only do our best and hope that he gets better" he clapped Derek on the shoulder, "your dad will be fine, please call me if there's any change"
Derek nodded and watched him walk away, his mind troubled.

Months later.
Derek decided to eat out with Kathleen, it's been a while since they both went out on a date, he took her to a cozy restaurant and observed her while she placed her orders,
"What?" She asked rolling her eyes at him as soon as the waiter left, "you're drooling"
He smiled, "do you know you are the most beautiful lady in this restaurant?"
Kathleen blushed and felt warmth at his words, "oh yeah! So you've already analyzed all the ladies in this room"
Derek's smile was cocky, "I never miss a beautiful lady in a room"
Kathleen hit his arm and he laughed softly, "that's why I noticed you're more beautiful than them all and I am proud to have you by my side as my wife".
"His gaze suddenly took a burning look as he stared at her and Kathleen's stomach turned to answer to the burning look in his gaze" she knew that look, it was a pure look of desire, suddenly she don't wish to be here, she wished to be at home, in their room and on their bed doing sweet things to each other's body.
"Do you think you still wanna eat here?" Her voice sounded husky even to her ears.
She traced her toes up his legs, trailing it seductively and licking her lips, Derek's gaze darkened with raw hunger, "let's get out of here" his voice was husky as he took her hand and stood up, he covered her mouth with his immediately they reached the car and she responded with wanton desire, hands roamed her body and she moaned with the pleasure it brought her as her hand groped in the dark, fiddling with his zipper, they were so entranced by each other, suddenly Derek's phone rang and they jumped as the loud sound echoed into the silence.
He flipped his phone open, "hello" he barked agitated at the wrong timing of the receiver.
"Is this Derek Deloux?" A voice asked sounding uncertain.
"Who wants to know?" He retaliated
"Nicole gave us your number, I just want to inform you that she's in St Lucas hospital and she's about to put to bed".
