The words she was about to utter dying on her lips, she gazed into his blue eyes, her lips patted panting for breath, her arms around his broad shoulders, she immediately felt the heat building within her, slowly he let her to her feet, staring deep into her eyes.

"Thanks, she murmured" and he flashed a dimple, making her breath catch.

"You're most welcome, now come, let's bid goodbye to our guests".

Kathleen nodded slowly and followed him.

The day after the party, somewhere down south, Tasha had gone out to the salon to get her nails done when she sighted something that interested her, a lady sitting opposite her was reading a newspaper and the headline made Tasha jumping from where she was sitting, she grabbed the papers from the woman to ensure her sight wasn't playing tricks on her, sure, it was Kathleen on the front page but what was she doing with the heir of Deloux empire?

Her eyes quickly scanned the headlines, sole heir to the Deloux empire finally found his soul mate? How come? How did Kathleen ended up being the wife to the heir of Deloux empire, Tasha's mind traveled back to the day Kathleen had fled her marriage, she had been secretly happy because it simply means she would finally have Dave all to herself, she and Kathleen had been friends since high school but she had always been jealous of her secretly, all the boys always chose Kathleen over her and added to this, Kathleen had always been the brilliant one between both of them and this made Tasha felt like she was just Kathleen's shadow, that day that Dave had picked them both on the road, she had been interested in Dave also but as usual, Dave had preferred Kathleen to her and Tasha's hatred for Kathleen who considered her a best friend grew, now staring at this paper, she had to admit, Kathleen indeed has always been lucky, Dave had been rich and handsome but he was nothing compared to Derek Deloux, Kathleen indeed had hit the Jackpot, she stared at the photos maliciously, she hoped Dave doesn't get to see this. She had become Dave's wife after Kathleen had run away that fateful day and until now she was still living in Kathleen's shadow and Dave always compared her to Kathleen and beats her whenever he felt like, she blamed all her sufferings on Kathleen and wished she could just vanish from this Earth, she would make sure Dave does not see this paper, she calmly returned the paper to the lady reading it who was eyeing her intently, "thank you" she murmured, her throat tight, she turned and walked out of the salon.

"Where the heck have you been?" Dave barked immediately she entered the house, his eyes were red and voice shrill, perhaps he had been drinking again, Tasha suspected he was taking something more than alcohol but she had no proof as she had never seen him take any drugs but her instinctive kept telling her otherwise. she looked at him with resentment, before she could answer, he whirled on her, "am I not talking to you or have you suddenly gone deaf? His high-pitched tone penetrated her being and for a moment, fear seized her heart. "I...I...went to get my nails done" she managed to gasp out.

His lips curled, "you only know how to spend money but never bring in any, so useless, Kathleen was such a sweet little thing compared to you and I lost her because of you" he sat down on the couch and poured himself another glass of drink. Tasha felt her eyes stung, she would never get out of Kathleen's shadow, she glanced at Dave and regretted ever forcing herself on him, he was the cruelest man she had ever come but she was in and there's no way out for her, she enjoyed his money far too much to leave, her gaze fell on the newspaper by his side and her heart thudded, had he read it? She carefully walked closer to him and he eyed her.

"Er.....can I see those papers?" He frowned at her, "no, I'm about to read it".

In order words, he was yet to open it, Tasha can't allow him to read those, her brain racked on what to do, she stared at the drink he was holding, she could tip it to pour the papers, she made to leave and pretended as if she had lost her balance, hitting the drink in Dave's hand, it poured all over him and on the papers, his gaze grew furious as he jumped up, his palm connected with her cheek and the force of it made her fell back, "you're so clumsy, stupid" he ranted walking upstairs. Tasha's gaze fell to the papers on the stool he had left behind, she quickly carried it away, her cheek burned from where he had hit her, she threw the paper away.

Dave had changed his clothes and had gone out, Tasha was relieved, it was dark already and he wasn't back yet, her cheeks had turned blue and she put some ice in it, she was so exhausted, she just wished to hit the shower and sleep. She had finished bathing and was about to lay down when Dave staggered in, his eyes searched her in the room and he advanced towards her, there was a light in his eyes that Tasha hadn't seen before, it held a frenzy and scared, she backed away, he simply grabbed her, "where do you think you are going?" His voice was high pitched and he reek of alcohol, he flung her on the bed and she shifted.

" Dave please, I'm so tired already"

He snarled at her, unzipping his pants, he came down at her and Tasha made to dodge him, he caught her feet and dragged her back, " you are my wife remember"

Tasha pushed against him, "Dave please"

" Dave please" he mimicked her, tearing her night gown and baring her body to his gaze, he squeezed her breast painfully and she yelped, trying frantically to get out of his clutch but he was like a rock against her, she pounded his chest but he simply grabbed her chin tight in his hand, pain shot up in her bruises and she closed her eyes tight against the pain," stay still if you don't want to get another of those bruise" he snarled at her ears, he roughly tore away the remaining of her cloth and Tasha made a final attempt to block him by crossing her legs but he hit her hard on her thigh and her legs gave way, tears streamed down her eyes as she felt him penetrating her, it was the roughest sex she had ever had in her entire life, he rode her like she was a whore, pressing her breast painfully, she laid there like a doll, helpless before his onslaught while he rode her as if his life depended on it, he grunted as he released and fell off her snoring almost immediately, Tasha allowed the tears to fall freely, she hoped Kathleen would receive worst pain where ever she is, she wept as she struggled to the bathroom to wash off.

Kathleen's phone rang, waking her from sleep, Derek stirred beside her and opened his eyes, she looked at the bedside clock and her eyes widened, she had slept so late, she looked at the call and checked the caller ID and frowned, it was an unknown number, Derek stood up, perhaps to make use of the bathroom.

"Hello," Kathleen said into the receiver and suddenly smiled, "Stefan? How did you....."

Derek grabbed the phone from her not allowing her to finish whatever she had to say, "stay away from my wife" he earned and hung up.

"That was supposed to be my call" Kathleen protested and Derek scowled at her, "why would he be calling you so early?"

"I would have found that out if you had allowed me to pick the call, besides, it's almost noon" Kathleen pointed out.

"Stay away from him" Derek warned and before Kathleen could reply, he walked into the bathroom.
