Chapter 20: Chapter 20

"Will this ever end?" Charlie sighed, looking exhausted, as she collapsed dramatically onto the sofa in his apartment.

"Home moving are always exhausting." Morgan chuckled, sorting the last box at the entrance to the hallway. "Actually, we're lucky you brought so little stuff."

Glancing at the small pile of boxes and backpacks filled with Charlie's belongings, Morgan smiled, going to sit next to Charlie on the couch, careful to avoid the spot where Sawyer was fully occupied with a box, which Charlie had emptied just so that he could play.

"Do we really need to organize all this today?" Charlie whimpered, making him laugh again.

“No, we can take a break for today and get something to eat. It's not like the boxes are going to run away after all." Watching Sawyer carve his claws into the box's cardboard and reduce most of it to a few strips, he ended up commenting "Although I can't guarantee they'll come out in one piece."

“Oh, that's fine. A break for lunch and then I'll try to prevent the crates from being murdered." Charlie sighed, getting up unwillingly "Damn it, I need to find a scratching post for this little devil as soon as possible, before he becomes obsessed with your sofa again."

“We can go out and buy one tomorrow." he promised, following her into the kitchen.

“None of that!" Charlie stopped in front of him, determined "Just because we're living together, doesn't mean you have to bank on me! As soon as we get married, the first thing I'm going to do is go out and look for a job at a diner or something. Of course, I'll need to ask Vivian to reduce my hours at the shelter..." she opened a crooked smile, clearly trying to hide how much that saddened her "But it's okay, it'll only be for a year, after all..."

"No" He interrupted her, seriously "Your volunteer work is everything you love most, Charlie. I can't let you give it up just because you think you have to pay me for something. You can get a job if you want, of course." He smiled, stroking the top of her head "As long as it doesn't stop you from continuing to do what you really want. As for the rest, no need to worry."

"But... You're already doing so much for me..." Her bottom lip stretched into that adorable little pout he loved so much, but which always forced him to look elsewhere.

Since that kiss, it was becoming harder and harder to stop looking at her mouth. More even than usual.

“Well, technically, you might think that anything I buy from now on is just an advance on your inheritance, which I'll have from now on." He shrugged, even though he knew he would never allow her to take a penny of that money to pay him something "Now, stop worrying about something so unimportant and let me go to the kitchen. The move was tiring and I know you must be hungry."

“You're so stubborn…” she huffed, staring at him for a long moment, until her big brown eyes took on a vibrant gleam, “But unfortunately for you, I'm also quite stubborn. Now go ahead." stepping to the side, she left the hall free for him "I'm going to take a shower before I eat, okay?"

"Perfect. I will be waiting for you." he promised, giving her hair another stroke, before moving into the kitchen, where, to her surprise, Sawyer followed, climbing onto the sink as she watched him retrieve ingredients from the cupboards.

Dividing his time between making Charlie some sandwiches and eventually stroking Sawyer's shaggy head, Morgan was surprised to realize that he was unconsciously smiling the entire time, which was rare. Just spending time with Charlie used to put him in such a good mood, but since their moments together were numbered, when he managed to escape the office and Anthony and Samantha to sneak into her room at the Manson mansion or the shelter from Vivian, it was almost strange for him to feel happy for so long. Generally, his days were filled with boredom and irritation, until the brief moment when Charlie appeared to cheer him up, not the other way around.

Pausing for a moment after placing the finished sandwiches on the table, he felt his heart race as he realized that it would always be like this, from now on, for the next year. Charlie would always be there with him, making his world louder, funnier and more vibrant. Maybe it was because things had been moving so quickly this last week, but he still hadn't stopped to reflect on what it really meant to live under the same roof as her. It was one thing to resist what he felt for Charlie while they spent most of the day apart. It was another thing to have her right next to her, making him dream of one more kiss, feeling her tongue again and squeezing that delicious ass again...

Shaking his head to dispel those forbidden thoughts, Morgan silently berated himself for being so immoral. Poor Charlie was probably shaken at the moment, uncertain about what her life would be like living with him and feeling guilty at the mere possibility of him paying for a few things for her, even though it was her obligation. What would she think if she knew that the man who was supposed to be taking care of her was actually secretly masturbating every night imagining what it would be like to see her breasts bouncing while riding her cock?

He was a terrible man, no doubt.

"I feel full of turkey and mayonnaise..." Charlie's voice sounded from behind him, with a slight edge of nervousness making it unsteady.

"I made your favorite sandwich." he explained, as he turned to face her, with a friendly smile that he hoped would reassure her...

Until his ability to speak was suddenly erased from his brain, along with every other skill or knowledge he'd ever had, including breathing. That's because, before him, with an innocent smile and her hair in a high ponytail, was Charlie... Wearing only a set of black bra and panties.

As he remained frozen in place, Charlie's hands and legs began to move. However, instead of running away or covering herself, she just crossed her hands behind her back and shifted her weight from one leg to the other, almost bouncing in place, as if she was embarrassed.

"And then?" she asked, making him look away from her curvy body to the contented smile on her face. "Shall we eat?"

"Charlie...you...what..." he stammered, nodding at what she was wearing, unable to form a single coherent sentence.

“Oh…” she exclaimed softly, finally looking down at herself and seeming to realize that she was almost naked in front of him. “Gee, I guess I was so hungry I forgot to put on a nightgown. I would forget about my head if it weren't attached to my neck." she joked and, to Morgan's complete dismay, began to approach where he was. "Aren't you going to sit down, anyway? I'm crazy about this sandwich..."

"Charlie...!" Putting one of the chairs at the table between them, afraid of what he would end up doing if she kept acting like that, as if they were in one of the erotic dreams he used to have, Morgan exclaimed, suffocated "Y-you need to get dressed...!"
