Chapter 18: Chapter 18
After Paul turned around, she prepared the food she had bought for her mother. It made her look straight at her as if something strange was running through her mind. It seems that her friend Jem infected her mom ftom having a naughty thoughts.
"Mom, stop it? You've been there before. You'd better sit down and eat." Pay attention to her mother, who is just standing on the back of the chair.
"Why is it bad to look at my daughter? Is Paul the only one who has the right to look at you?" she was tempting to sit on the chair to get food.
"Hey, ma'am! Next time, don't eat what Jem brings here, okay? You're infected with her playful brain." Ashy's answer shook. Sit in front of her mother to accompany her to eat.
They ate quietly. When they finished, Ashy went to the living room carrying two coffees. They are used to do it after dinner.
"Mom, coffee." She handed it to her.
"Thank you,"
"What are you thinking? Are you missing dad?" Her question then leaned on her mother's shoulder.
"Yes, I wish he was with us now." She whispered tearfully.
Ashy hugged her. "Mom, Daf is happy now, looking on us from above. The important thing is to take care of yourself so that he can be even happier. One more thing, I'm here to take care of you." she smiled at her.
"I don't want your attention to be focused on me. You have a life of your own and you have to face it. Love again, Ashy. I know that something will come for you. Ohh, maybe it will come that you just don't notice because I have your attention. " her mother's sad answer.
"Mom, you are not the reason why I'm not having a boyfriend. Are you serious? It looks like you want me to leave here. Besides, I won't leave you because there's no one else to take care of you. If only my sister hadn't disappeared, I hope we could be together. One more thing, I'm still young and the time will come when I'll have that too. For now, let's cherish the moment that we have nothing to think about, just the two of us. . " She smiled at her.
"Forget your sister too. She is happy to be with your dad." Her mother hugged her sadly.
2 years ago, her sister was caught selling drugs. That's why ahe doesn't ask them for money because ahe has a racket that she ruined. She resisted and she tried to fight back and escape so the police were forced to shoot her.
She's left with their mother. They couldn't do anything because her sister wanted to know what happened to her.
"It's okay, let's go to sleep. It's already night, and I still have work tomorrow." She helped her mother get up from the chair.
They went to their respective rooms to rest. Ashy thinks her mother is right. She must not live her life in the past. She should also think of things that will make her happy.
The next morning, she woke up early. As usual, she eat before going to work. She was about to leave the house when suddenly there was a knock on their door. She opened it and Paul was exposed in front of her with a boquet of flower. He smiled at her as if he really planned to go to it.
"Goodmorning, goodmorning, please." He greeted the two.
"What are you doing here? Why did you come here?" Ashy asked in surprise, obviously shocked by the arrival of her boss.
"Well, I'm here to pick you up. So you don't have to commute. And I will do it every day. " It is a friendly answer.
"What? are you serious? What are these flowers for? It's not my birthday." she asked, but in her heart she already knew where the reconciliation and mythology that it was doing would go. Whether she admits it in front of it or not, she is thrilled. It's been a long time since she last felt the word 'giggle' that she almost forgot.
"Then let's make it every day like your birthday. So shall we go?" He asked.
"All right,"
They said goodbye to her mother and then left the house. This is really a gentleman. From riding in the car to putting on her seatbelt.
Ashy could smell his fragrant scent. If she could just kiss him, she would have done it. That's it and her mischief has worked when it comes to men.
"Are you okay?" He asked before starting the engine of his car.
"Sure," she replied. She just closes her eyes to see it looking at the road.
Ashy didn't know what to feel at those times. It was only then that she noticed that she was carrying the flower that he had given her. She had no choice but to take it to the office. She just had to prepare herself for Jem's relentless questions.
They were just quiet while in the car. Feelings for one another. She didn't want to think, but why did she seem to feel so light about Paul? When she was alone, she felt like Storm was with her. Sometimes she thinks that it might change his face.
They were attacked by the opposition. That was what she had in mind. She also did not realize that Paul had already opened the car door and was just waiting for her to get off.
As they entered the office, she could not help but be embarrassed. Not because she was with their boss, but because of the bunch of flowers she was holding.
"What are the employees thinking about this?" She said in her mind.
She prays that Jem won't see her. But a friend saw her far away. Just with her smile, she knew that she would ask her a question.
Arriving on the CEO's floor, Paul was stopped.
"Ash, can I ask you out for dinner tonight?" He asked with pleading eyes.
"Sir?" Ashy asked.
"Let's have dinner tonight, after work." He repeats.
"Okay sir." She just answered for formality because they were inside the office.
While she was busy with Paul's signatures ...
"Ashy, I have a lunch meeting I'm going now. You take care of it, I'll see you at dinner." A reminder of this then left the office.
Ashy just sighed as she watched the boss leave.
Soon Jem calls her.
She answered it and told the friend that they would just meet during lunch.
And the friend couldn't wait and picked her up.
"Come on, I'm excited to be with you for lunch." It gave a mischievous smile.
"You're just excited to intrigue. You even picked me up. I already know you, sissy. " It just shook as it adjusted itself so that they could leave.
While they were eating, she deliberately did not speak.
"Psst ... Ash, did you level up with sir?" It is a thrilling question.
"What level up? I don't understand your words." Suppose it questions her.
"Gosh, you're still pretending. There are still flowers and a bunch of people who know ehh." shee looked at her and stopped chewing on its food.
"I don't know, he even invited me to dinner later. Maybe he was just bored, so he invited a companion. Maybe you want to come along. The more the merrier. " she drank water and then spit again.
"You're really crazy. That's the moment when you'll be alone and then you'll be happy with your partner. Here's what I'm telling you. Ash, give some space in your heart. It's about time for you to be happy too." The friend held out her hand to let her know that she supported it.
"You're too advanced to think. We're just going to have dinner and he's not flirting with me."
"Sissy, we already know about those kinds of trends. That's where it starts. Why would you waste the time of a handsome biennial who is still delicious,... in love, if he's not interested in you? He's far different from Storm. He's a bit of a beacon, a very gentleman. " Jem even waved her hands to explain the truth to her.
"Right now I don't want to assume anything or whatever. We are friends, yes, and I appreciate that. " Her answer was that she had no plans to bite her friend's teasing.
Until they have finished eating and they have to go back to their jobs.
The day was over and Paul had not returned from his lunch meeting. She kept asking in her mind if they could continue with their dinner or not.
She just arranged her belongings so that she could go home. It looks like they won't be able to continue because it's already six o'clock in the afternoon and they haven't called yet if they can continue.
Sje could not understand, but she felt sad. Sad that they can't stay and sad that she won't see it before she even goes home. Maybe it already feels like ahe likes him, she just can't admit it because of the fear ahe feels.
She was about to leave the office when she saw him leaning against his car, which had obviously been waiting for a while. She didn't expect him to wait for her there. She suddenly felt ashamed of it. Shame mixed with trembling.
"Ready?" Smile at the question He opened his car and took the bunch of flowers from the seat and handed it to her.
"Thank you," she smiled, accepting it.
