Chapter 47: Chapter 47

XXXV

Sophie's POV

"What? What's going on?" I ask, alarmed by the sound of her voice; she seems shocked, and I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

Usually, it's not.

"Just come to my house as soon as possible." she demands and then hangs up.

What is going on?

I let out a shaky breath and see mum coming towards the car, carrying a bag so I hurry and try to take it from her, to help her, but she doesn't let me.

"No way, Sophie. For the next nine months, you're not lifting anything even remotely heavy; I'm not letting you risk anything."

I let my arms fall to my sides. "Okay, fine. Could you please take me to Ambers'? I think something is wrong."

"Now?" she whines. "Sophie, we need to prepare your father for the news and we need to talk about some stuff..."

I cut her off:"I know, I know, but I think something is wrong and I'm afraid it's about..." I trail off.

I can't help but shake off the feeling this is about Axel and it's making me really nervous.

She sighs. "Fine, but not for long, okay?"

I nod. "Yeah, sure."

***

I ring the doorbell of Amber's aunt and uncles' house and only stand there for a few minutes before Amber opens up the door with an expression I can't determine, Liam standing closely behind her.

"What's wrong?" I immediately ask and she gulps and shakes her head.

"Nothing's wrong, not really, but it's really shocking." she tells me.

"Is it about him?" I immediately ask and my nerves go up by a hundred percent when I see her nod.

"Yeah. Come, you need to sit down and then we'll tell you. Have you been watching the news today? Or any other television programme or anything?" she asks and I shake my head.

I've been runing around doctors' offices all day.

"No. Can you please just tell me? Is something wrong with him?" I plead, but recieve no reply, and simply get pushed down on the sofa in the living room, in front of the television.

Amber looks at Liam and lets out a deep breath. "Okay, you feeling okay, Soph? Everything fine?" she asks and I groan.

"Just tell me." I demand and she nods, moving to the side, and then turns on the television.

Axel.

On BBC, there's a picture of Axel, leaving a building that looks a lot like a gym, and there's writing that says:"NEW CHAMPION: MEET THE BOXER WHO HAS BEATEN THE BEST FIGHTER IN THE WORLD!"

I can hear the news reporters talk about him, and how he's beaten some kind of a record but it's too confusing to understand it clearly.

"What's this?" I whisper and Amber changes the programme, and then switches to yet another programme, all of them spotting Axel's picture.

"Look, it's everywhere, and it's been like this for an hour. Apparently my baby brother has broken a record or something and gotten himself in a UFC league. Have you heard of it before?" she asks and I nod.

Of course I have; it's the most famous boxer's league in the world, I think.

"Well, apparenly he was in a fight yesterday in front of the judges with Michael Bisping and actually beat him; this is a big thing because Michael is kind of the best boxer in Axel's category in the world and for Axel, well, it was his first fight."

Her words echo in my mind, repeating over and over again till they get a meaning.

I turn towards her with my whole body.

"Axel's a boxer?"

She shrugs. "I don't know, I guess so. And judging by this, by far the best one in the world. He's become famous, Sophie." she says.

He's become famous, Sophie.

"Axel is famous? My- my Axel?" I stutter and she nods pointing towards television.

"Yeah, look, he's basically on every programme there is. There's only one problem; people are saying his name is Dave Axel Williams, not Axel Jarvis, but it's obviously him, I mean, I'd recognise my brother, right?"

I stay silent for a few moments. "Oh my god."

She sits down beside me, pulling Liam with her. "I just can't believe he's suddenly famous."

I gulp. "I'm pregnant."

Way to tell such news, Sophie.

"What?! How?!" they both screech and I roll my eyes.

"Well, you know, when a boy likes a girl, and a girl likes a boy..."

"Oh, shut up. With Axel?" Liam asks and I nod. "Well, yeah. He's the only one I've... You know."

Amber's face scrunches up. "You've had sex with my brother. Ew. I can't get the image out of my head now."

I sigh. "Yeah, I've had sex with him, Amber, obviously. Now can you please get over it and concentrate on the big news?"

Liam shakes his head in amazement. "Well, isn't today something. I'm just waiting now for the news that Europe doesn't exist anymore."

Amber nudges him. "Liam, this is serious." She then turns toward me. "When did you find out?"

"Today. I've been vomiting in the morning for the past dew days and thought I was sick or something but turns out I'm pregnant." I explain

Amber takes a glance towards Liam. "Will you keep the baby?"

I bite my lip and nod. "Yeah. I know I'm only seventeen and it's probably a terrible idea, but yeah, I will."

Liam then chuckles. "Well, good thing then thay Axel's suddenly famous. He's gonna make enough money for the three of you."

I gulp. "Well, actually, I'm not gonna tell him."

Amber's brows shoot up. "What?"

I look at my feet. "I'm not going to tell him about this."

"What do you mean you're not going to tell Axel about this, Sophie?" her voice is suddenly not as kind anymore.

I sigh. "We're not going to meet again. It's best for him if he doesn't know about this."

"No, it's not." she says in a harsh voice, standing up. "You need to tell Axel about this."

I frown. Why is she acting like this so suddenly?

"No." I say.

"Tell him or I will." Amber says and Liam takes her hand. "Amber..."

"No, Liam, this is about my brother. He deserves to know." she glares at him and then back at me.

"You can't do that." I say, my voice breaking at the end.

It'd be horrible if he found out from her.

"I can and I will. This is important, Sophie." she says, her voice only slightly softer than before. "If you don't tell him today, I'll call him and tell him. I'd want to know if I was him."

I gulp and stand up. "You know what, thanks for being such a great support, Amber. Yeah, he probably does deserve to know about this but that doesn't mean you can just blackmail me the way you just did. I don't get why you're like this but maybe you're just jealous. You never did support our relationship anyway. I'll tell him, because I'd hate it if he had to find out from you, but I still think he'd have a better life if he could just start afresh and forget about everything. Thanks for being such a great friend." I tell her and storm out of the house, tears escaping my eyes.

Great, I just lost two friends.

I pull out my phone and quickly text Axel that we need to talk and ask him to call me when he can, then screenshot and send the screenshot to Amber.

She better not call him and tell him before I have the opportunity to do it.

What a bitch.

I put the phone back in my pocket, wiping my tears away and decide to take a walk back home; I need some time to think and walking has always helped me with that.

Sighing, I look around the calm nature, reflecting everything I'm not.

Today truly couldn't get worse...-

"Hello, sweetie." a familiar voice suddenly whispers in my ear and I feel my hand harshly being pulled behind me, and some kind of a tissue being put over my nose and mouth. "Let's take a nap, shall we?"

Tom.
