Chapter 65: Chapter 65

After the class, Calista was standing on the side of the road in front of the university. Rhino went to bring the car from the parking lot. He had told Calista to wait for him and stood there. Rhino had told her that he will take her somewhere today. Calista, however, didn't agree at first but Rhino did not listen to her. He said she had important work to do, so she had to go. Calista could not ignore him anymore. Rhino also told her that everyone else will also go. They will come soon.

Seeing that Rhino was taking time to come, Calista did not just stand there but took out the notes that she had copied today and started checking them. After two minutes, Rhino came with the car. As he stopped the car and got out of the car, suddenly his phone rang. Rhino took out the phone and saw that the call came from the office. He received the phone to his ear and started talking. Calista was still standing and checking the paper. A few papers flew from her hands in a sudden gust of wind. She got a little nervous and hurriedly ran after the papers to catch them. Rhino was looking at the opposite side and talking on the phone. So he couldn't see what Calista was doing there. He did not notice when Calista came to the middle of the road while running after the paper. After Rhino finished speaking, he looked to the side and saw that Calista was not there. Rhino frowned and looked around.

He thought to himself, "Where did Calista go again?"

As Rhino looked back, he felt as if the sky had broken over his head. Rhino saw Calista was sitting in the middle of the road looking for something, and a truck was rushing towards her just a short distance away. Calista didn't have any attention towards that. In a moment, Rhino's whole world stopped. His heartbeat stopped. His hands and feet were getting paralyzed. Rhino wanted to call Calista, but no sound came out of his throat. It seemed to him that someone was holding his throat in a chip. Calista finally got the paper and stood up happily. But her happy face disappeared when she looked to the side. Seeing the truck coming from the front, Calista's whole body froze in fear.

Calista thought to herself, "Today might be the last day of my life. What a petty life of mine!"

Calista closed her eyes thinking this. After two seconds, Calista felt someone pushed her hard away. She fell to the side of the road. After a while Calista opened her eyes and saw what had happened. Then she looked at her hands and feet to see if she was fine or not.

Calista thought to herself, "Have I survived? But who saved me?"

Calista looked back to see the person. Calista was stunned by what she saw. She got dizzy. The ground moved from under her feet. Calista saw Rhino lying on the road in a bloody state. Calista didn't realize that Rhino himself came in front of the truck to save her. Rhino's head was covered in blood. Seeing all this, Calista's feelings went blank. Everything around her became a blur. Calista stood there like a stone. In no time there was a crowd of people. Everyone started talking about different things. But Calista's words were not heard. She stood like a statue. No feeling was working for her. A little later Ezlyn, Harold and Edith came running there. Seeing this condition of Rhino, Harold and Edith could not bear anything. Running and holding Rhino, they both started crying.

Harold said crying, "Brother, what happened to you? Get up. Why is there so much blood in your body? Please, get up brother."

Edith stiffened himself a little and looked at Harold, and said, "There is no time for this. We need to take him to the hospital as soon as possible. Grab him and put him in the car quickly."

Harold nodded his head. Then they both held Rhino and took him in the car.

Ezlyn looked around and saw Calista standing some distance away and ran to her. Ezlyn came to Calista and saw how Calista was standing like a stone. Ezlyn started calling Calista in a worried tone. But Calista did not respond.

Ezlyn shook Calista's shoulder and called loudly, "Calista, hey, can you hear? Are you okay?"

Calista moved a little and looked at Ezlyn. Then she raised her hand and pointed towards the road and tried to say something to Ezlyn in a muffled voice. But she could not say anything. Before she could say anything, she lost consciousness. Seeing that, Ezlyn hurriedly grabbed Calista. Then she called a cab and took Calista into the cab and went after Harold's car.

-----------------------------------------

Calista opened her eyes and looked around. She looked around and saw that she was lying in a hospital bed. Ezlyn was sitting on a chair in front of her with her hands on her head and her eyes were closed. Calista suddenly remembered about Rhino and sat up. Hearing the sound, Ezlyn looked and saw that Calista was up.

Ezlyn said hurriedly, "Are you okay?"

Calista asked Ezlyn in a shaky voice, "Where is he? How is he? Nothing happened to him, right? He is fine, right? What does the doctor say?"

Ezlyn put her hand on Calista's shoulder and said, "Calista, you calm down first. You are not fine."

"I'm fine. You answer my words first."

Ezlyn answered in a sad voice, " Rhino was taken to the operation theater the moment we reached here. Now his operation is going on. Nothing can be said until the operation is over."

Hearing Ezlyn's words, Calista bursted into tears.

She said crying, "It has all happened for me. I am responsible for his condition. Today he is in this situation after going to save me."

Ezlyn also felt very bad seeing Calista's condition. Still, she was trying to calm Calista down.

She said, hugging Calista, "Calm down, Calista. Look, no one is at fault here. It's just an accident. You don't worry. You see, Rhino will be fine."

After a while Calista looked at Ezlyn and said, "Ezlyn, take me there, please."

Ezlyn nodded her head and took Calista's arms over her shoulder and took Calista to the front of the operation theater. Calista and Ezlyn looked in front of it. Harold and Edith were sitting on the chairs in front of the OT. Harold's eyes turned red from crying. Edith closed his eyes and pulled his hair with both hands and bowed his head. They hadn't reported anything home yet. If it is known at home, everyone will break down. Especially Rhino's father. He was already a heart patient. If he hears such news, his condition may worsen. So Harold and Edith hadn't told anyone at home yet. Calista went to the door with trembling legs and tried to look inside through the glass hole above the door. Calista saw Rhino putting an oxygen mask in his mouth. Bandages were wrapped around his head and the whole body. Seeing Rhino like this, Calista's heart was tearing. She could not see it anymore. She moved from there and sat down next to the wall. She was trying to hold back her tears by holding her hands over her face.

After two hours the doctor opened the door and came out. Harold and Edith ran in front of the doctor. Calista sat there like a stone. She did not dare to go to the doctor. She was afraid if the doctor said something bad.

Edith asked the doctor, "Doctor, how is Rhino? Nothing happened to him, right?"

Calista was looking at the doctor. Hearing the doctor, a drop of tear fell from her eyes.
