Calista was happy until her grandma was alive. But the day she died, Calista's miserable life started. She never thought her life would change like this.

Calista started to think, "I heard that three months after my mother died, my grandmother thought of me and told my father to remarry. He listened to her and married my stepmom. As long as my grandmother was alive, everything was fine. My stepmother used to caress and love me, I also loved her like my own mother. Because after I was born, I saw her as my mother. She even loved me more than Sienna and Easton. But I never thought all this love was only her act. She never loved me. On the other hand, my father, he just forbade me to go in front of him. Although dad stays out of business most of the day. So I didn't have much of a problem either. My life started to change when my grandmother died. My stepmother did not love or caress me like before. Instead, she started threatening me and physically hurting me as soon as I approached her. Slowly she started telling me to do all the household work and started torture me like I'm a working girl in this house. I can't even tell all this to my father. Because my father could not see me just like that, on top of that, my stepmother would threaten me if I utter a single word to anyone. If I said anything to my father, she would hit me more. I was afraid to say anything to anyone."

She thought of that and looked at the stove. The water was boiling. So she added some tea leaves on the water to make tea.

She sighed and started to think again, "My parents fell in love with each other when they were young. But my mom's parents were against their relationship. That's why my parents ran away from home and got married. So my grandparents and uncles broke all ties with my mother. That is why there was no room for me to go there or to another house and start living by myself. This is the only house that I can stay in."

Calista was thinking about her past and was working in the kitchen. This is how her days were going by, working all day long.

At first it was very difficult for her to do all the household work. She used to cry alone. But gradually these became her habits. And she also understood that this is her life. That's the way to live.

Suddenly feeling something cold in her feet, Calista came out of her thoughts. She looked down. Easton was rubbing an ice cube on her feet.

Calista bent down and told Easton, " What are you doing, my little brother?"

Easton murmured, "Rubbing the ice. Which you will never do. You never look after yourself. Look at your feet. How red it has become now! It must be burning. You have no care about that. You're just after work."

Tears welled up in Calista's eyes when she heard Easton's words. Easton is the only one person who thinks she is a member of this family. And for everyone, Calista is nothing more than a working woman. Or maybe even worse.

Calista turned her head a little and wiped away the tears and asserted to Easton, "Hey, it's just a matter of time. My feet will be alright. You don't have to worry. You have to go to school. So go and get ready. I am making a chocolate milkshake for you."

Easton folded his arms and said to Calista, frowning his eyebrows, "You also need to go to the university. Won't you go?"

Calista nodded her head placing a smile on her lips, "I will go."

Hearing Calista, Easton said happily, "Yeah, you will have a lot of fun today. You are going to your new university. Okay, I'm getting ready now, you and I will go out together for my school and your university."

Easton left after saying the words. Calista let out a sigh and poured tea from the teapot into the cup and left the kitchen.

Calista came into Sienna Ivelle's room and placed the cup of tea on the small table beside the bed. Upon hearing the sound of something in the room, Sienna Ivelle removed the cucumber slices from her eyes with her hand and saw Calista holding a cup of tea.

Sienna Ivelle shouted, "How many times have I told you, don't show me this miserable face of yours in the morning. I told you to leave the tea before I wake up."

Calista said with her head down, " I'm sorry sister. I was bringing the tea before you woke up. But when I brought the tea, it slipped out of my hand. So it took time to make a new one. It will never happen again."

Sienna let out a sigh of irritation and uttered, "Okay, okay, I saw your face this morning, I don't know how the day will go. Now leave from here."

Calista left without saying anything. Sienna is the child of Kyrie Ivelle's previous husband. After marriage with Calista's father, Sienna also lives in this house with Kyrie Ivelle. And like Kyrie Ivelle, Sienna also never misses a chance to insult Calista.

After finishing all the work, Calista came to her room to be ready for university. Today she is very nervous. She doesn't know what will happen to her. Calista's father's are two brothers. Calista's father's name is Axel Ivelle and her uncle is Lewis Ivelle. Lewis Ivelle was Calista's school teacher. In the past, everyone used to live together in the same house. Later, Calista's uncle moved to a separate house and shifted there with his family. Lewis Ivelle has no daughter of his own, he has only a son. So he loves Calista like his own daughter. He wanted to keep Calista at his home, but Calista's aunt refused this. She also thinks Calista is a misfortune like everyone else.

After passing the board examination, Kyrie Ivelle almost stopped Calista's studying. Then Calista cried a lot to her uncle. Then Lewis talked to Calista's father and requested him to let Calista continue her studies. Calista's father also agreed. And Calista got a chance at a very good university.
