Chapter 29: Chapter 29

I was almost relieved that Eion didn’t bring it for the past few days that I saw him but keyword….almost...

"I kissed you when I was drunk, didn't I?" That was the first thing I heard as soon as I answered Eion's call on a lovely Sunday morning.

I didn't respond to that, as I tried calming down the monkeys in my brain. He remembered! Great! Note the sarcasm.

"I did, didn't I?" He asked again but I still didn't reply to him. I mean, what should I say? Why did he even remember it?

He sighed, "I'll take that silence as a yes...though I thought it was my usual dream..."

That made me scream at him through the phone, "What is that usual dream, Eion?"

"You don't have to know." He said. "By the way, I also remember that I told you all about myself so you know me now..and I also agreed about your offer?"

I gulped, why am I suddenly nervous? But at the same time, curious that he’s bringing it up. "Uhm yes... But that was the drunk you. I mean, you regret that right?" I asked, wondering what would sober his answer to that.

I glanced at the caller ID to make sure it was really Eion I was talking to because really, it doesn’t sound like him. "I don’t regret agreeing to your offer. In fact, I think that was a good idea. You can be my friend, like a frenemy. Don't worry I'm doing you a favor."

I scratched my hair, not knowing where this is heading. "What is happening Eion? It doesn’t sound like the usual you….Do you need something from me?"

"Glad you noticed that too soon. Technically, yes." He answered. "We'll trail my friend and your friend's date."

Date? Wasn’t it just last time that Emma thought of bringing us to date? "Who? What? And why?"

I could hear Eion sighing from the phone, "My friend Dax, and your friend Emma. I just want to know what will happen to them today, you'll never know….." he trailed off.

Oh..so that is why Emma has been smiling a lot lately? Did they decide to go on a date again? Since I was still half-asleep, that woke me up fully, "First of all, if anything, I should be the one worried about my friend," I spoke up, defending my friend Emma. It seems that Eion here is making Emma like he’s the one with the bad intention to his friend.

Plus, didn’t I lecture Emma about boys? I even made her promise not to mingle with the boys, along with Hannah. I sighed, she really doesn’t listen to my advice. Oh well, once she gets heartbroken, she’ll end up coming to me crying. I swear if that happens, I’m not forgiving Dax.

Plus, this really doesn't sound like Eion. What's gotten with him? He knows exactly not to mind other people’s business. "Don't involve me in that."

Eion spoke up again, "I see, so you don't want to help me now? Don't forget about that kiss, want me to remake that?"

I gasped, my eyes clearly widened at what he just said, not believing it. "You pervert!" Pressing the hang-up button, I ended the call. I shook my head, not used to this new kind of Eion. Or has he always been like this?

Never mind, I'll just go back to sleep.

I heard sounds of laughing and a deep voice when I woke up. I looked at the clock, it read 11 in the morning. Standing up with my Rapunzel pajamas, I slipped on my bunny slippers and went to eat in the dining room.

Rubbing my belly, I scratched my messy bed hair. "What's for breakfast mom?" I asked, wiping the drool on my mouth, as I reached the doorway to the dining room.

But what greeted me made me gawk. The figure of Eion, wearing a plain white shirt and pants, sitting at our dining table and facing Nathan as they talked about something was...both surprising and confusing especially at my house.

Nathan was the first one to notice me and smiled at me, "Good morning Snowwy! Look who’s here!"

"Morning, Nate-nate." I smiled back at him, ruffling his curly hair, and glanced at Eion warily. What is this dude doing here in our house? Gosh, don’t tell me mom invited him over? No way.

"Eion?" I asked and Eion turned to look at me. He looked at me up and down and smirked. I self-consciously fixed my hair, realizing my messy appearance. "Uhm... What are you doing here?" I asked in distaste, annoyed. Is it about the call earlier?

"Uhm... What are you doing here?" I asked in distaste, annoyed. Is it about the call earlier?

I couldn’t miss the smug expression on his face as he replied, "Your mom invited me over. "

I stared at him, dumbfounded, "And you agreed?"

Just in time, mom emerged from the kitchen, "Snow, behave. I asked him to come here to give my baked cookies to Maggie."

Eion cocked an eyebrow at me, daring me what to say next.

Mom then turned to Eion, "As I was saying Eion, please give this to Maggie, Eion. And I'll let you eat some. Also, feel free to come here anytime, you’re always welcome here."

“Yes I will, Aunt Evy, and thank you again,” replied Eion. Wow, since when did he start calling my mom Aunt Evy? Wew, looks like I have been missing out on a lot of things.

Mom gave him her usual warm smile and I turned to mom exclaiming, "Mom!"

I caught her attention, "What?" before smiled sheepishly at Eion, giving him a silent glare that mom wouldn’t notice. "I think Eion is busy, right Eion?"

Eion shrugged, staring at me. "I think I’m not that busy these days. I'll gladly come here when I have the time,” he replied. It seems that he’s really enjoying this, torturing me.

"Oh, have you eaten already? You must be hungry since you came here early." Mom said, placing food on the table. Eion then started to eat and I just watched them, still standing by the doorway.

"Eat Snow, the food's going to get cold," Mom said as she hit me lightly on the head. "You didn't tell me you and Eion are going somewhere today."
