Chapter 78: Chapter 78
We reached the library, in front of where all this was happening, and stopped to look at Monica. She was standing in the middle of the crowd, her face covered with her hands, and everyone calling her names and throwing paper balls at her.
"This s*** has a thing for her brother. She cheated on me with her own brother, she didn't value our years-old relationship." It was none other than Tucker, he was standing along her side, holding his phone with her pictures and showing it to everyone who has probably seen them already. I couldn't believe he said that, so all this time I was merely his sidechick? Dina grabbed my hand to comfort me, obviously, she didn't know either.
"Such a b***," one of the students spoke, this one was the most filtered comment, the others were worse.
"Don't you girls sleep with boys?" in a spur of the moment, I saw Steven rushing into the crowd and addressing them. I looked to my side in confusion, when did he leave my side?
"At least we don't sleep with our brothers." one of the girls, who was known for stealing boyfriends, spoke.
"You stay out of it Steven," Tucker muttered, he has been waiting to land his fist at Steven for other reasons and by jumping in this mess, Steven had given him the chance.
"Ken Weller is not her brother," Steven announced loudly, but I know nobody was going to take him seriously. Everyone thought he was just lying to save her.
"Oh really?" someone yelled, sarcasm quite visible from their voices.
Steven was standing on Monica's right side, and Tucker to her left.
Tucker looked at the crowd and our eyes met, he then narrowed his eyes and prepared himself for another battle.
"You guys do remember Monica accused Steven of forcing himself on her, maybe it was Monica with Ken and Steven together. See how he is defending his sidechick now." Tucker declared and the amount of praise he got proved that people were enjoying him, plus the mention of sidechick twisted my stomach.
"I bet he sleeps with everyone." One of the girls from the crowd shouted at Steven, who lowered his head and lifted his eyes, and glared at her, his stare gave me goosebumps I swear.
"At least not with you!" Steven raised his brow and shrugged his shoulders, the girl awkwardly looked around and lowered her head. "You guys are going with him because there is a spice in his statements, and you all are thirsty for nasty stuff." Steven, who was done playing nice, smirked.
"Really? Tell us then what happened between you and Monica in that classroom?"Tucker questioned, he wanted to prove his point, but that too wasn't gonna explain that Ken is her brother or not.
"Whatever happened, and with whoever happened, that guy wasn't her brother." Steven declared loudly, he was avoiding Tucker while Tucker kept getting close to his face.
"Then who was it? You?" Tucker again approached Steven and stood with his face, trying to hit his shoulder to Steven's shoulder, "or maybe you did force her!" He continued and everyone cheered.
That was it, I couldn't just stand here and hear him insulting Steven.
"Where are you going?" Dina grabbed my hand and asked, watching my face in confusion.
"I can't let him do this," I mentioned Tucker, but the hate made me not say his name.
"Are you sure? Are you sure you are not afraid of people talking sh** about you for taking Steven's side?" She knew how I was; all my life what people will say was my biggest concern ever. I slowly slipped my hand off her grip and rushed through the crowd of boys. Tucker bent his head back and took a step back, his eyes on me, and a smirk on his face. Steven's expressions hardened as he heard everyone now booing at me.
"Go back!" Steven whispered, coming close to me. I looked him in the eye and turned my face to the audience that we had.
"This guy behind me is the owner of Lock's Orphanage, he knows which orphan is adopted by whom, he knows everything, so think twice before calling him out," I stated loudly, ignoring Tucker's hard stare at me. I bet he clenched his jaw, I bet he thought of a million ways to kill me and Steven.
"Giselle!" Steven stepped closer to me from behind and whispered in my ear,
"No! I am not stepping back." I declared, "Where is the guy? Where is Ken, why not him, why only her?" I questioned the girls who were booing loudly just a moment ago.
"You are taking his side over me?" Tucker got closer to me and whispered into his mouth, but only to be pushed away from me by Steven, "Oh, so now he will stop me?" he tilted his head, peeking through Steven's shoulders, who wasn't letting him come close to me.
"Wait!" I told Steven to get aside, I wanted to look in Tucker's eyes and ask him something serious, "you are playing hurt? If I told everyone that you have been cheating on your girlfriend with me then? If I tell them that you have been using me as a sidechick then? Then they will know that not only Monica but you are a cheater as well. “I glared in his eyes and stated in anger, rage visibly. His jaw dropped, his eyes forming tears as I muttered in his face. He didn't bother answering me back and rushed out of the crowd, but I wasn't done yet. I began following him, knowing Steven wanted to come after me, but he had to escort Monica to her car safely.
Me: I just want to talk to him privately.
I sent the message to all three of them, Steven, Sid, and Dina. I followed Tucker to his lockers without him knowing. He halted and rested his forehead on his locker, not knowing I was standing behind him.
"Aren't you ashamed of yourself?" I muttered, making him turn around in surprise and watch my face in shock.
"Giselle, it's not what you think it is." Where was his loud tone now? Where was his attitude? He pleaded through his eyes.
"That's why you never wanted to announce that we were dating because I was your sidechick." I yelled and tears began to form in my eyes, my heart ached as I thought about life, the years I have wasted on him.
"That was in the past, trust me, I had no feelings for her." He tried to reach out for my arm but I shrugged it off, his touch disgusted me.
"Yet you dated her and made me your sidechick." It was hard to say it aloud, but the truth is hard to swallow.
"Because I have to do it even though I didn't mean to," he sadly mumbled and tilted his head, wanting to look in my eyes.
"No, because you are damn cheater, who only loves himself." I pointed my finger in his face, "I can't believe I wasted my entire life wanting you," I stated and his eyes bugged out like he didn't know that.
"You never even have liked me, Giselle, it was I who fell in love with you, waited for you, begged before my mother to persuade you while you kept telling my mother that you don't like me at all." he was sure what he was saying, I stared at his face blankly, Lauren? I should have known that witch was behind every bad thing happening to me.
"Well breaking news, your mother not only played me, but played you big time," I announced bitterly, seeing tears forming in his eyes. I stayed before his sight for a moment and then turned around to leave when he whispered slowly.
"You all played me," he uttered, but couldn't stop me from walking away. I ran to the out, wanting to grasp some fresh air. It felt so nice to finally say things that I have been holding inside me, they have fooled me my entire life, but that was it, I was done with their dramas and games.
I sobbed, looking at the clear sky. My parents died, thinking I would be in safe hands, but they didn't know the women, who always claimed to be their friends were only using me for her satisfaction.
"You okay?" I didn't have to turn around to see who he was, Steven stood behind me in concern.
"Actually, I have never been this fine," I answered and gulped the tears of regret for not standing by this guy Steven and realizing it late.
"Can we go and eat something?" I swirled around to see Steven rubbing his tummy like a child. I couldn't resist but to smile at his sweet face, his sight gave me pleasure,
"Sure, where are those two idiots?" I murmured and walked along with him.
"Can we please be alone for a few minutes at least," Steven said, a smile covering his lips as he continued to walk with me. I had this tickle in my stomach, whenever he wanted something from me, I felt like blushing, but When Tucker would ask for something, I would feel a weird irritation in me. Well, I need to stop comparing these two now.
"On a bike?" I questioned, as I saw him climbing on his bike.
"Why is Giselle afraid of bikes?" he smirked, his eyes playing a dirty game.
"Of course not." I smiled back, looking in his eyes and approaching him, I climbed behind him and placed my hand on his shoulder.
"Grab me tight or you will fall." I could hear the playfulness in his voice. With a smile and blush making my cheeks red, I wrapped my arms around him, but his big a** jacket blocking us from getting too close.
"You ready?" He questioned, I was wearing one of the helmets he always kept for passengers while he wore another for his safety.
"Yes, I am," I replied and he started the engine. I held on to him even tight when he sped up, the gust of wind could do me less harm due to the helmet. As we passed around the town, I got to look at the beautiful scenery, the beautiful people trying to make out who was riding with Steven, which I cared less.
He kept making turns and turns until, we reached the hills, the same hills where Tucker and I used to date. He stopped the engine and pulled off his helmet, I followed.
"This is the most beautiful place," he murmured, whispering in his mouth with his eyes exploring the beauty of the surrounding. I followed him and sat with him on the rock.
"What you did there," he mumbled and I hushed him.
"I couldn't just stand there and watch you get yourself insulted," I mumbled and shrugged my shoulders to tease him, he laughed, lowering his head down and shaking it.
"Yeah, like you were gonna kick their as***," he joked and narrowed his eyes towards me in fun, I can't get enough of his eyes, they were the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
"I would If I have to," I replied and flipped my hair playfully.
"Why?" He asked, changing the conversation to a serious thing, I veered my neck and saw him watching my face with his eyes filled with hope. I tried to say something, but then the only thing I could do was to just give him a smile, bit my lip, and look down.
"Why do you always blush when I say something?" He hit me with his shoulder gently and made me blush even more.
"Can you stop?" I uttered in my mouth, I was gonna die now.
"Why would I?" he did it again and bent ahead to tease me more. He then pulled back and began looking for something on his phone, I wondered what was the emergency? "It's Sid, he said he and Dina saw us hopping on the bike so they followed us, they will be here any minute." his tone went from straight excitement and flirty to down and bored.
"Oh," I sighed, they never leave us alone.
"Hey, guys!!!!" I lifted my head at Dina, who had McDonalds in her hand, coming towards us with Sid, who had more food. All of a sudden, I feel less bad.
"I thought it would be a nice time for us to play some games." She cheered, pulling out a sheet and spreading it on the ground. We all sat together and that's when Dina took out an empty bottle.
"Let's play truth or dare," Sid announced, loving his girlfriend's idea. Honestly speaking, I feel like this game only results in hor*y encounters. Every time someone says let's play this game, they either want something from you or they have a confession to make.
"Let's do it." Being the top most hor*y people at that moment, Steven agreed. Dina was the first one to spin the bottle and it obviously stopped on Steven.
"Truth or dare?" she questioned excitingly.
"Dare!" Steven didn't waste a single second and mumbled, giving a teasing smile to Dina, who frowned, so Dina wanted to get a confession from Steven, clever.
"Okay!" She stroked her chin to think of an evil plan, would she want to let go of this chance? Nops, guessed so. "You will text our biology teacher and tell him that you are in love with his daughter." I covered my mouth with my hands and laughed at her wickedness. He stared at her, pissed while Sid laughed along.
"C'mon, don't be a chicken, do it." she pumped him, knowing he was not the type to back down.
"Fine." He muttered in his mouth and pulled out his phone, typing quickly and showing us the text, he hit the sent and quickly looked at Dina, "how old is his daughter?" honestly, he should have asked it before.
"Forty-nine." She blurted out a laugh when Steven's jaw dropped down the hill.
"Who texted me?" Sid frowned and took out his phone, while Steven was complaining to Dina how unfair she was for doing this to him and how much trouble it will cause him.
"Dude, what the heck?" Sid showed us the screen and it was the text from Steven, the same text he was supposed to send to our biology teacher.
"Steven!" Dina growled.
"Well, I saved his name as my Biology teacher to show it to the librarian when I wanted some books and he wasn't letting me in due to some construction going on inside," Steven recalled and sighed, that one evil thing saved him.
"Oh yeah, and then I talked to the librarian pretending to be our biology teacher." Sid too recalled and they shared a high five. I and Dina shared a glance, finally coming to know what these guys do when they are not with us.
"Giselle spin it." Dina, who was now disappointed in losing a chance, said to me. I spun the bottle and it halted on Sid, who was eating garlic bread. A smile crept over my lips, Dina tried to trap Steven, well guess what? We come as a team.
"I dare you to kiss Dina on her lips." I shrugged my shoulders and smiled, Dina watched me in irritation, eyeing me madly.
"Whoa, thanks love." Steven laughed and stated casually, the way he said love took my breath away, he called me love? Calm down Giselle, but it felt so great.
"Here comes the garlic!" Sid bent ahead, but Dina pushed him off her, getting up and running away but only to be followed by Sid.
Steven and I laughed while they disappeared from our sight.
"Seems like you are my knight today," Steven stated and got up, I too stood up and smiled. We two awkwardly stood there for a moment, waiting for those two to come back and in the meanwhile, things started to get messy when a gust of wind played with my hair. He watched my face for a moment and then with his finger, he shoved my hair back from my face.
"Thanks!" I whispered, biting my lip. He wouldn't stop staring at my lips, I lifted my face and my eyes traveled to his lips, what is happening. I gulped and looked away, but only to look at him again, but this time our eyes met for a brief moment, both of us thinking the same thing. He dropped his eyes to my lips and slowly came closer, bending over and adjusting his lips on mine. I felt a warm sensation on my skin, his lips making their way in my lips. Parting my lips, I took his lower lip between my lips, slowly sucking them and closing my eyes as he closed his eyes too. He wrapped one arm around my back and placed his other hand on my cheek. Deepening the kiss, tilting his face to right and I shifted my face to the left, waiting for him to stick his tongue in my mouth.
