Chapter 64: Chapter 64
Dina's POV:
I saw Tucker pulling Elle away from us and honestly speaking, I was mad at Steven than anyone else.
"I never thought you would be so heartless," I stated, stopping Steven at his pace, who was about to leave for the cabin.
"Dina!" Sid yelled, I knew he didn't like me calling out Steven, but if he can fight for his friend so can I.
"What Dina?" I snapped, walking towards Steven and standing in front of his face. "She came here just for him, she literally crushed her self-esteem under her feet and stayed by his side, hoping he would forgive her but nope, nobody here has ever learned to forgive anyone. "I declared in anger, I had tears in my eyes. I kept watching Steven's face, he had his head down this whole time. What nobody knew about Giselle was that she was brought up among those manipulators, her whole life was a lie, she was being taught wrong things and on top of that, they were the biggest bullies living under the same roof with her.
"Can she mend my self-esteem? Can she declare my character clean?" Steven mumbled in his mouth, "It is because of her that I am stuck in the house where I was afraid to spend few hours straight, it is because of her that I will be soon questioned for what happened to Monica, it is because of her that I have my heart broken now." He finally raised his face and tears rolled down his eyes, "I would have taken a bullet for her Dina, but tell me if I had held her hand today, and Tucker had asked her to choose one of us, are you sure she would have stayed by my side?" pain, just pain in his eyes. To be honest, can't really trust her because she was blinded by Tucker's love.
"But at least you should have tried," I mumbled to Steven.
"If she didn't want to go she should have resisted herself, if she had done that, I would have stepped forward but she just left. I can't really make decisions on her behalf and he is her boyfriend, she lives with him. If she hadn't left with him now, things would have turned even worse." He murmured, cleaning the tears from his eyes.
"Steven!" I called after him, but he left in the cabin, leaving me and Sid behind.
"Giselle is dating that guy, she refused to be friends with Steven. There were times when she rejected Steven, what makes you think now she will choose him?" Sid asked, his tone was light and hurt. "'I don't know why you can't see, but Steven loved her Dina." he stood in front of me, my jaw dropped. It wasn't like I had no idea, but he had told his friend about his love was painful because it just proved how serious he was.
"After his mother's death, his stepmother did anything to make him look bad." he whispered, shaking his head, "That time, he had just us, his friends with him." Sid sighed. There was way too much about him that I had no idea about.
"I want to know everything Sid, there is too much mystery about Steven and that's why they are ready to believe in anything against him," I murmured and walked towards the cabin with him. He nodded and walked inside, Steven had already shifted his stuff down on the couch, with his arm bent on his eyes, he pretended to be asleep. So and I stood by the railing of the room and looked down at him.
We can see him laying down, it seemed like he had some dark secrets he was holding inside.
"I thought he had met you a few years ago," I asked, bending over the railing a little.
"I was his childhood friend, we three used to do so much fun together." Sid almost smiled as he recalled the memories, but shaking his head, he tried to wipe them off his mind.
"What happened to the other friend?" I inquired, must be some tragedy that Steven was so afraid of trusting people again.
"He betrayed us." Sid gritted his teeth,
"Who was he?" they have been through a lot at a very young age, but as I can recall the details, they have told me that after their 9th birthday it was only Sid and Steven. My question is, what possibly had a nine-year-old done to hurt him this bad.
"Tucker Arch!" He stated the name and I almost forgot breathing. My eyes jumped out of their sockets, my heart racing in my chest. "Steven used to tell us everything his stepmother did to him. He confided in us for a long time and then one day, when it was for us to help our friend, Tucker turned his back On Steven. He told everyone that Steven used to tell us nasty things he would do with his mother and all.
It wasn't like Tucker had a reason to lie about it, he just enjoyed lying. Steven, even after that when Tucker apologized and told him that he will clean his character, believed him, and forgave him only to be betrayed again by going against him and spreading nasty rumors against him.
Just about a year ago, Steven found Tucker in the stepmother's room when he turned eighteen. He was confused, shocked how a teen can do such a thing, we weren't friends at that time. Tucker only did that to make Steven embarrassed of his family. You have no idea what they have done to Steven, his anger is right.
I understand his stepmother should be behind the bars but Tucker protected her and everybody believed Tucker instead of an orphan they hated. He still gave Giselle many chances until he finally realized that she will ditch him as they had. Dina, he saved me from selling drugs and worked for that guy just for me. This boy on the couch, nobody has stayed by his side, everyone calls him names.
Your friend feels bad when someone calls her selfish, think about him, because of her everyone who used to whisper nasty names about him are now saying it aloud." Sid shut his mouth when tears after tears rolled down his eyes and made it hard for him to speak any further. He swirled his neck to me when I stayed silent, his eyes met mine and he saw that I was crying too.
"Hey, stop please, why are you crying?" Sid quickly hugged me and I cried loudly now. He kept hushing me, we wouldn't want Steven to wake up and know we were talking about him.
"Giselle has been through a lot too, they will make such a good couple," I said through sobs and Sid quickly pulled himself away from me and stared at me.
"You are an idiot, but a cute one." he smiled and took me back in his embrace. "Steven still has a lot to face," Sid murmured sadly, patting my arms slightly as he tightened the hug.
"If only he opens up about the incident
he had to let us know what happened between him and Monica," I murmured sadly, I cannot wait for the day when all the troubles surrounding us are over.
