Chapter 62: Chapter 62
"Giselle is so right; it is a good idea." Sid backed me up, excitedly jumping on the couch. Dina was still in a state of shock, she kept watching my face in disbelief.
"Let's do it then," Steven mumbled, not really raising his eyes. And all of us sat silently, waiting for someone to say aloud who would be in whose team.
"Let's find out who will be with whom." Steven was the first one to mumble, he tore apart a page and made two slips out of it, writing mine and Dina's name on it. "I will drop and then pick one, the name written in the piece of paper will be paired with me and the rest of the two will be together." Saying so, he gestured towards me and Sid, so he wanted me to be with Sid. It felt like, he was so resistant to me that in order to avoid me, he was canceling his plan of bringing Sid and Dina together.
It was at this moment that I have started to feel regret for coming here, I was not wanted anymore.
He dropped the pieces and picked one with a bright smile on his face, but as soon as he opened it, his smile faded away. There was an annoyed look on his face, enough to tell me that he wasn't pleased with the person he got.
"We will do it again," He whispered, trying to close it, but Dina stole it out of his hands hurriedly, she read the name and raised her brow.
"Oh, Steven and I couldn't be together." She faked sadly, obviously, she was happy to be with Sid but Steven was not pleased at all.
"We should do it again." Steven insisted, but Dina shoved the pieces of paper in my bag. Eyeing Steven to not ruin it for her. We all stood up and began to exit the cabin.
Sid and Dina went to the backside of the cabin while Steven and I, who were standing there like complete strangers, chose to walk straight. I was following him bluntly with no idea where we were going or what we were going to do.
The wind played with my hair and my eyes on his back, hoping he would turn around and talk to me, at least say anything but nope, I guess I have pushed him so away from that now it was very hard to have a glimpse of him.
After walking for like few minutes in utter silence, he stopped. He looked around and while turning in whole circles to scan the area, his eyes fell on me. He frowned, narrowing his eyes, and then looking ahead.
"Wait here," Steven muttered, not really looking at my face, but his eyes wandering at the surrounding.
"Where are you going?" I followed him to the woods and he halted when he noticed that I was following him.
"I will be back in a minute," he added, rolling his eyes annoyingly at me.
"I am coming with you," I stated, and took steps after him, which made him stop in his path again.
"Giselle! I am going to pee, dammit." He yelled, narrowing his eyes at me and looking annoyed.
"Oh!" I bit my lip and tried to hold back my laugh, he was puffing the air out of his nostrils like a bull. "But I am scared to be left alone in the middle of nowhere, I promise I won't peek," I stated, looking around and then watching his face that was expressionless.
"No!" he stubbornly answered, I understand why he was so annoyed at me, I kind of deserved it, but his anger never really scared me or maybe because I knew no matter how bad I irritate him, he wasn't going to cross limits with me.
"I am coming with you." I stubbornly declared and he slapped his forehead, the poor guy was really in an emergency.
"Fine, but you will stay away from me." he declared, his eyes narrowed at mine, his cheeks and lips red because of the cold, that's how he was, always looking fresh. "Okay?" He mumbled, bending over me and all I could stare at was his lips, his red lips.
"Fine," I stated and followed him. He went a little farther and started doing his thing while I stood with my back facing him.
"What are you doing?" I asked, purposely trying to annoy him to the point that he starts a conversation with me.
"Dancing in my own rain." He aggressively responded, he appeared from the back and using a whole bottle of water, washing his hands and then his face as well.
"Why you wash your face?" I found it weird so I asked him, but the look on his face told me as I have asked for his kidney.
"Mind your own business." He replied rudely. It did feel bad, I have never really heard his tone with me, but I guess I have earned it.
"You didn't accept my apology, I assume," I mumbled in my mouth, managing the bag strap on my shoulder and looking down. I was standing by his side, but my head down on the grass.
"I told you, you have to agree to the punishment." He stated, looking ahead. We were ignoring eye contact and without it, it was hard to tell what the other was feeling.
"You want me to k-------?" I left the word incomplete and raised my head, looking in his direction.
"Kiss me." He announced, my body reacted instantly by having goosebumps. I gasped when he turned around and stared me in the eye. His beautiful eyes digging a hole in my soul.
"I have a boyfriend." I declared, still looking at his face. His stare dropped to my lips and I awkwardly broke eye contact.
"So? I never said I want to be your boyfriend." He stated very carelessly, shrugging his shoulders to make it appear even ruder. It was such a pain that the person who used to respect me before now considered me an object of pleasure.
"Oh! So you don't want my apology, you just want some fun." I scoffed, faking a laugh and nodding my head, playing with the grass with my foot. "And I thought all boys couldn't be the same," I commented, sounding hurt.
"That's your assumption, can't do much about it. Think whatever you wanna think." He replied and ran after a rabbit, what? We were going to eat a rabbit? I followed him and nearly laughed in his face as he saw the rabbit escaping him.
"I will make things back to normal," I whispered, standing behind him. He turned around in haste and crackled.
"Yeah, you always do, you always make things better for yourself." He babbled, shaking his head.
"You really think I am that selfish St--," I hadn't even finished when he approached me aggressively and glared me in the eye.
"Yes, Giselle, I really think you are a mean, selfish and dumb girl." He stated and then closed his eyes at the realization of his tone, and then stepped back a little.
"Then fine, I am ready for the punishment," I mumbled and my lips quivered, "I admit I'm a dumb B*** but I didn't do it on purpose. It was my stupid brain that stopped working, but you are purposely doing it. Give me a chance, one chance, but no! I am a selfish and mean person, you have made your mind against me." I was honestly very hurt, just tell me if you hate me, I will never cross your way again is all I was saying.
"I am trying to make amends Steven," I stated and he scoffed.
"Don't," he uttered, staring deadly in my eyes.
"I will, I will keep trying to seek your forgiveness." I stubbornly stated, thinking he would understand that I wasn't going to give up on him this time.
"Don't do it, Giselle, because honestly, I am letting you know right now that I don't want to see you again, I don't want to be friends with you. I am done with you. You are just wasting your time and energy." He stated all that with a shrug of his shoulders and I just stood there staring into his eyes blankly.
I can't believe he said all that so carelessly, it almost felt like nothing that I said touched his heart. Oh My God! He really was over me.
"Hey, guys!" all of a sudden, Dina and Sid appeared while I was still watching Steven's face in shock, "guys!" Sid mumbled happily.
"We won." Sid high five Steven as he showed him few apples, he hunted down apples? Steven, who, after saying all that relieved himself from the cage of my friendship, but he dug me deep in my own grave of guilt.
"Is everything okay?" Dina reached me and whispered in my ear. I lowered my face slowly and gulped.
"Yeah!" I lied, fighting with my tears, not letting them escape. We headed back to the cabin, Steven was weirdly fine like nothing happened.
"You guys lost so you will cook the dinner," Sid mumbled happily and wrapped his arm around Steven, who was laughing at him this whole time. Dina was happy like something did happen when she was with Sid.
"Cook the apples?" Steven rolled his eyes.
Suddenly, their steps halted, while me being walking with my head down, bumped into Dina, and raised my face to see what happened.
We were standing right in front of the Cabin, with Tucker, Ken, and his other group of friends standing before us. They all had baseball bats in their hands except for Tucker, who, when made eye contact with me, made a tight fist in anger. His eyes were telling a scary tale, he was raging inside and it scared me.
