Chapter 60: Chapter 60
I screamed, but he covered my mouth with his hand, trying to pick me up. Dina was sitting on the grass when she stopped yelling, got up, and hit her bag on the guy's head. He let me loose and yelped, holding his hand on his head.
“Ouch!” it was Sid, the stupid guy. He watched our faces and started laughing at the top of his lungs, his finger pointing in our direction.
"You idiot!" Dina growled, and I narrowed my eyes his way. My heart was jumping up and down in my innocent chest. I got up and put my bag back on my shoulders, Steven too showed up, holding a map in his hands.
"What happened?" he looked at us and raised his brow, we eyed at Sid, who was still laughing. Dina has told them that I was going to join them, that's why Sid made this brilliant plan to annoy me.
"Hey!" Dina waved her hand at Steven, who when smiled annoyed Sid. Steven was holding a map in his hand, and a huge question mark on his forehead.
"What am I supposed to do with that?" Steven mumbled, tilting his head from right to left, trying to read the map upside down as well.
"Why do we need a map?" Dina shrugged her shoulders and I too waited for the boys to answer.
"Actually, I don't know where the cabin is." Sid declared and quickly looked away, he knew we were looking at him with questionable eyes, "But Steven here can read a map." Sid hurriedly said before we could slaughter him.
"Me?" Steven dropped the map instantly and watched our faces in confusion, "What made you think I can read the maps?" he proceeded, looking unsure of his friend's state of mind.
"Because you knew where Japan is on the map." Sid moved his hands, sounding even more stupid.
"Yeah so? What made you think I can read a map?" Steven slapped his forehead, and then placed his hands on his hips, constantly watching his friend's face.
"But--," Sid quickly shut up and itched his scalp in embarrassment.
"Of course, this was about to happen when Sid is the in-charge," I commented and rolled my eyes, they all stared at me.
"Now you will talk about who is the disastrous here?" Sid snapped, folding his arms across his chest, and glaring at me, pissed and annoyed.
"Sid!" Steven shouted, getting his friend's attention, "Let’s resolve this matter first." He pulled Sid away from his shirt from us. At least, he reacted to my existence. Now we were standing in the woods, in cold, and hungry, with Steven looking at the map like a lover would watch his lost lover's face. I watched him from head to toe and my body felt a weird chill running down my spine. There was something about his posture that was making me crazy, from biting my lip to uncomfortably staring at him, I didn't leave any.
"Okay!" Steven nodded, looking at the map.
"You figured it out?" Sid, who was now drowning in the guilt, asked, hoping for good news.
"Yep!" Steven pressed his lips in a tight line and shoved the map in his bag. We let go of a sigh of relief and smiled, watching each other.
"So what is it?" Dina questioned with a smile on her face.
"That I can't read the map, and we have to find the cabin through some alternate way." Steven mumbled seriously, we watched his face and glared him in the eye, "what?" he shrugged his shoulders. Now we were stuck with no hopes when Sid suddenly started dialing a number on his phone. As we were still near the road, he managed to get some bars on his phone.
"Okay, thanks a lot dad." Sid approached us with a smile while we watched his face in confusion, "dad told me the directions." He smiled and his smile faded away when all three of us glared at him madly.
"You couldn't ask him before?" Dina growled, narrowing her eyes at him. Sid looked really happy as his new dad had granted him a cabin and money.
"I knew this guy was dumb," I murmured under my breath, but I am sure they heard it.
"At least now we know the way." Sid ignored our stares and began walking ahead of us. Throughout the hike, I kept mending my bag's strap on my shoulder, and it kept falling off.
"Let me grab it for you." Steven, who was walking behind all of us, offered help. A glimpse of happiness blossomed in my heart, but I have to act natural, I can't be acting like I was waiting for his help, I also have to make sure that I am not too rude.
"It's okay, you have your own b---," I turned around and pressed my lips tightly when Steven moved ahead and grabbed Dina's bag out of her hand. She smiled his way, and they both walked ahead of me, he didn't even acknowledge me. What a moron!
It is all your doing Giselle! My brain snapped.
Now, I was walking behind them, constantly staring at Steven's butt that no matter how hard I tried not to look at, I kept staring at it.
I was walking behind them with anger filling up my veins, he could have at least offered me help.
"There it is!" Sid announced, opening his arms in the air and standing in front of the cabin. Have to say, it was indeed a beautiful cabin. The smiles on our faces were full of triumph and victory.
I glanced at Steven, who was scanning the surroundings while his beautiful eyes narrowed down. He was casually looking around when our eyes met and I quickly looked away. Dammit! He must think I was staring at him, why am I doing this to myself?
We followed Sid to the inside and guess what, it has only one room. Obviously, the guys were going to be nice and give it to the girls, right? Nope, think again because these two were crossing all the limits of douchebaggery.
"Wow! A room for us." Sid clapped his hands and cheered, Dina and I shared a glance and frowned, he can't be serious, well at least Steven will be a little nice about this situation, ugh! Our innocent little thoughts.
"Oh crazy! It's cool." Steven mumbled, glancing at everything and running upstairs for the room.
"Are you guys serious?" Dina yelled after them, stopping Sid on his pace upstairs.
"Oh Yes, baby girl because if you really thought you were going to get a room with your boyfriend, you were wrong." Sid pretty much went through the words in the meanest way he could. Dina's jaw dropped open while he ended up getting in the room.
"Well, at least it proves he is burning inside." I shrugged my shoulder and patted her back, giving her a closed-lip smile.
"No way I'm sleeping here in the lounge." Dina stubbornly threw the bag on the floor and stood with her hands on her hips, "GUYS WE NEED TO TALK!" She declared loudly. Well, ten minutes, and nobody responded.
"Ummm, they don't care." I passed her another closed-lip smile, our necks lifted back as we kept looking up for them to show up.
"GUYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!" That was it, she yelled like somebody was stealing her sugar daddy and Voilà! They rushed out. Steven has to be changing his shirt because now he was in a white shirt, that wasn't even buttoned up.
"What's wrong?" he asked, quickly buttoning up his shirt, followed by Sid, who raised his brow because he probably knew what all this commotion was about.
"We need a room." She declared, folding her arms on her chest and staring them straight in the eye one by one.
Steven looked at Sid behind him, quickly looking back at Dina, and mumbled in a very casual tone, "then built one, nobody is stopping you." The way he shrugged his shoulders made me think for a second that he was serious, but a smile crept over his lips that faded quickly as soon as his eyes landed on me, what? I didn't even do anything now.
"Steven I can't stay here; I need a room." She insisted, he tilted his head, and what he did next shocked both me and Sid.
"We two can share the one, they will be down here." His smile made me kill him instantly, how can he suggest something like that? I get it that he was trying to make Sid jealous, but what about me? Do I even exist anymore?
