Chapter 6: Chapter 6
"You should knock first," I said with hesitation, not looking at him and nervously getting up.
"Why?" He shrugged his shoulders like it was nothing. Obviously, for him it was nothing but for me being a shy girl, I considered it a big deal, but acting wisely, I let go of the topic quickly. Causing an issue was going to make me look desperate and boring girl.
"Nice room." He scanned everything, walking slowly in my room from wall to wall like he hadn't been there before.
"Thanks," I murmured, tugging a strand of hair behind my ear. I rolled off the bed and postured straight even when I was feeling goosebumps all over my skin.
"Giselle!" He exhaustedly turned to stand face to face with me and smiled.
"Yeah?" My heart beating loudly in my chest, I bet he could hear my voice turning weak.
"Are you always this shy and silent or you just lose your tongue in front of me?" He said it very confidently and looked me deep in my eyes.
So had been noticing my every little move, I wonder why.
"I am always like this," I replied, playing with my fingers.
"You are so stupid." He laughed like it was a joke to him. The smile on my face went missing instantly, everything I do is stupid for him. Since I've been trying hard to portray myself as this innocent, shy girl, who was too good to do anything evil, him calling me stupid really made me think what kind of girls were his type.
"Anyway, I came here to invite you to a party at my friend's place." He jumped in my bed very carelessly, while I watched his skin touching my sheets, lucky sheets.
"You want me to come?" I was shocked as this never had happened before. One could tell from the look on my face that I was surprised at his offer.
"Yeah, that's what I said." He rolled his eyes, "and by the way, it is tonight." He casually stated, my jaw rolled down to the floor in shock. His father would never allow me to leave the house after curfew time.
"What about Mr. Ben?" I mumbled to myself, looking down and lost in deep thoughts.
"Well, I told you I owe you an ice-cream, and this is my way to pay you, but if you are too afraid I can understand." Shrugging his shoulders, he got up from the bed and began walking away. I can't lose this opportunity, this might be my only chance to get close to him.
"I'll go." Instantly, I babbled. My voice ceasing him from walking away.
"If you want you can bring Dina along to accompany you because I might not be available all the time." He stated before leaving my room. Wow! I was going out with Tucker, does that mean I'm his date tonight? Damn, I need to break this good news to Dina.
Me: I'm going to a partyyyyy.
Dina: Girl you okay?
Me: Tucker asked me to join him at his friend's place tonight.
Dina: Wow that's a miracle.
Actually, Dina had no idea about my feelings for Tucker, she only knew that I wanted to be in good terms with everyone, I wanted everyone to call me a good girl, a perfect one.
Me: And he invited you as well.
Dina: I would have said no, but have to be there to defend and protect you.
She knew I have no experience with parties or drinks.
Me: Protect me from what?
Dina: Did you even ask Tucker who that friend is?
Me: He has several friends, must be one of them.
Dina: Don't be so desperate enough to forget the fact that his friends bully you, or must I say his name, Ken used to bully you.
Me: I love your concern, but Ken isn't his friend anymore and besides, after that incident, none of his friends had called me names again so maybe we are good to go.
Dina: Oh! So he is not friends with Ken anymore?
Me: Nope.
Dina: Then why were they together in the cafe today?
Me: What, they were?
Dina: Go and ask him. Also, let me know who is throwing this party.
Me: Okay.
After our conversation ended, a pang of sadness took over me. Why did he hang out with Ken again? Has he forgiven him already?
I had to go and talk to him and if it's Ken, I'm going to decline his offer at his face.
I tracked downstairs, heading towards his room with an extremely pissed look on my face and knocked gently.
"Come in." He voiced,
I opened the door and got inside to see him on the phone.
"Hey! How come you decided to visit my room?" He smirked, leaning on his left side on the bed.
"I--- Dina wanted to know whose party are we going to tonight" I used her name and she knew I'll because the moment I saw him; my confidence began shaking.
"Ken." He announced, drowning his head in his phone again. What? How can he even think about it? I stared at his face when he wasn't watching me, waiting for him to add joking after his sentence, but he wasn't joking.
"But he----," I tried to talk, but as he raised his eyes, I lowered my tone and my eyes as well.
"When he apologized, you forgave him, was that an act?" he stated, throwing his phone away and folding his arms, waiting for my answer.
Me: I forgave him, but I can't forget how he behaves.
Even though when I should have told him that, I didn't. My thoughts of keeping my image better and not upsetting anyone were stopping me from saying the righteous things now. Above everything, I didn't want him to think that I was disrespecting him.
"Yeah, you are right," I murmured obediently, letting his smile form with pride. He was satisfied that he was never wrong because I never told him so.
"But it's okay, if you don't wanna come I will ask someone else." he shrugged his shoulders and reached for his phone again.
"No, It is fine. I will go with you." I wasn't going to let go of this chance, never.
"And what about your friend?" He uttered with low energy.
"She will be there too." Of course, I wasn't going there alone and I knew she will join me if I ask her to.
"Hm good, get ready," he said without even looking at me, but it was fine. He will have a whole night to stare at me and me only. In my heart, I was doubtful of everything, he didn't justify why he hid whose party we were going to, but I was blinded by love and had crushed my self-esteem on me again.
"Please, you are coming and I'm not listening to any excuse," I mumbled to Dina, who I knew would join me. I was ready, wearing blue jeans and a pink tank top.
"Fine, I will be there." She replied.
"We will pick you up from your home, don't worry." I gave her Tucker's message and hung up. One thing was still unresolved, how were we going to fool Mister Ben, there was no way he was allowing us for that party or any party. The thought of Tucker abandoning me after that ice-cream incident was bothering me, though his love has blinded me, but something inside me was still awake and it was not satisfied with everything going on.
We waited for Mr. Ben to dive deep in slumber and then sneaked out silently before getting caught. It was a foolish idea to hide this from Lauren, if Ivory catches us, we are done.
Tucker started the engine of the car and in no time we were already on the road. Luckily, the car was always parked way down the steep hence no one heard the engine.
"Text Dina to walk out to the exit," Tucker mumbled, he was looking like a walking snack that night. To be his date was the most exciting thing for me and to not lose my control was getting harder. We picked Dina, who by the way sat in the front seat with Tucker. We reached Ken's house and it was all lit, loud music could be heard from afar. There were fellows from our class, wandering around with the bottles of wines I assumed. Underage drinking wasn't the only illegal activity going on, I have even seen some nerds hiding drugs. Tucker made us follow him and soon we were in the house.
In the middle of the lounge, every couple was dancing or more like making out, it was all nasty and sweaty there. I had a feeling of discomfort, but I remained silent because standing this close to Tucker was a blessing. He slowly began moving his body with the beat and I can't help, but mentally produce babies with him. It wasn't gonna take him long before he asks me for a dance. And it wasn't some cute couple dance, I am talking about twerking and giving a lap dance, but the thought of being close to Tucker was provoking me to violate all the rules and laws.
My body was constantly giving me signs and It needed Tucker's touch and when he finally turned around to look at us, I gulped.
"Wanna dance?" he pulled his hand out and smiled, his beautiful eyes filled with shine. My heart missed a beat and I smiled, but it wasn't long that I realized he wasn't asking me. He pulled Dina to join him and soon they were dancing and enjoying each other's giggles right in front of my eyes.
What the hell just happened? Why would he wanna dance with Dina?
I found it hard to breathe when Tucker wrapped his arms around Dina and pulled her close onto his chest, the way she blushed was exactly how I used to blush by thinking about Tucker. Did he use me to get Dina to join this party? Why did Dina let him touch her when she is always talking about how much she hates him?
Tears formed in my eyes and I looked away, concentrating on anything other than them to prevent myself from crying. All my dreams crushed under Dina's feet, how could she do this to me?
"Hey? Not having fun?" I heard Ken's whisper in my ear and my whole body trembled, "Woah! Didn't mean to startle you." He raised his hands and stepped back, he was holding a plastic cup and sipping wine through it.
"Leave me alone," I mumbled in my mouth, all my life, I have been a good girl, a girl who wouldn't argue or hurt someone and this is what I get in return? Nobody wanted a good girl, he doesn't want a good girl.
"What? Girl ease up, I didn't say anything offensive." Ken smirked but narrowing his eyes at me. I watched Tucker and Dina rubbing their bodies against each other's and my blood started to boil in my veins.
"Your presence is offensive," I muttered, glaring at him deeply, he halted for a moment as he was taken aback by my reaction, and then he gritted his teeth.
"You know if I want, you wouldn't be able to escape from my house until I get what I want." he threatened, pointing his finger at my face, I took a step back in fear as he raised his cup and intentionally tripped it over my shirt. "Oh! My bad. I'm such a clumsy fellow, you need to take that off." he was slightly drunk, but now he was pretending to be completely high in order to avoid the consequences later on.
"Don't touch me." I slapped his hand gently when he tried to touch my shirt, a few of his other friends began laughing and making fun of me.
"Oh come on, I just want---" he was about to touch me again when Dina saw all that from afar and rushed towards us.
"Back off." she yelled, pushing him away from me. "is this why you brought us here?" she yelled at Tucker, who looked nervous, his eyes were watching Dina's face and the sadness on her face was bothering him and it was bothering me.
"Dina, I didn't know he will----" Tucker tried to hold her hand, but she slapped it away. I would die for him to touch me, what was so special about Dina anyways? She was just a typical popular girl, why can't Tucker be this nice to me?
"He is drunk too." Tucker glared at Ken, who apologetically lowered his eyes, Tucker wasn't concerned about me being hurt, but it was Dina's happiness he cared about.
"Let's go, Elle." Dina turned around and reached for my hand, but in the moment of hate, I shrugged it off, but at the same time, Tucker held Dina's other hand and it all happened so quickly that nobody noticed me being rude to Dina except for Dina. She was too shocked to escape Tucker's grip.
"Please, I wanna talk to you and after that, I will drop you both back home." Tucker was holding her hand and it was hurting me. I looked around and saw everyone looking at them and mentally yelling *couple goals*. I turned around and began walking away from all of this, exiting Ken's house, I stood a little away from the rush to inhale some fresh air. I saw Dina and Tucker leaving the house, our car was parked near the house while I was standing across the road since I wanted to be as far from the crowd as I could.
I saw Tucker and Dina debating and it lasted for a few minutes and then sirens began to wail. My heart skipped a beat when all of a sudden, everyone started to run and escape the place. The neighbors must have called the cops, I tried to run towards Tucker and Dina, but the driver of the car that was parked on this side of the road kept pushing and hitting me in haste.
"Tucker?" I yelled his name, wanting to get his attention as he quickly grabbed Dina's hand, who was looking around probably searching for me, and pulled her inside the car.
"Dina?" I shouted, shivering in panic. Tucker started the engine and soon escaped the scene. They left me alone, the cops were here and I was left all alone.
