Chapter 40: Chapter 40
I didn't answer Dina the whole night and spend it with difficulty as thousands of insane thoughts kept me awake. Dressing up for school, I made my way downstairs and find out that Ivory has already left for the school and Tucker was waiting for me by the car. I was hesitant to face him after confessing that I was desperate to be his girlfriend, dammit Giselle!
I drank the glass of milk Lauren always gave me and left the house. I saw Tucker standing by the car from afar, my mind wondering what was going to happen, what if he says it was all just a prank? Oh My goodness. My heart skipped a beat when I was finally there, standing by the car.
"Morning!" he greeted with a smile, I lowered my eyes and faked a smile with a slight nod to my head. "Okay, wait!" He grabbed my hand and prevented me from opening the door of the car, "I can explain." he was smiling happily, I lifted my face and gave him a clear view of the bags under my eyes, he was the reason that they were there.
"Giselle!" his smile disappeared and sadness covered the shine in his eyes, "are you kidding me?" he shook his head and looked away in confusion. "You cried over that?" he inquired, shoving hands in his pockets and bowing down a bit to address me, "Silly girl I dropped my phone and the screen shattered, completely dead," he stated and I quickly raised my face to look at him, he pulled the phone out of his pocket and showed me the broken screen, It indeed was in a bad shape.
"I thought---," I murmured to myself while looking down in embarrassment,
"That I played you?" he sighed and looked disappointed, "Which I don't blame you since I have that image, but I would never do that to Giselle," he was all serious, and slightly upset as well. "I was happy, I did intend to talk whole night, but this stupid thing," his anger had no boundaries, just when I thought it was all done, he threw his phone on the road in anger.
"T---," I stuttered and gasped, his anger always made me jump.
"I am sorry!" he quickly noticed me and apologized, "Ugh! Why do I feel like a monster in front of you?” He joked, slapping the back of his own head. I was not really used to him treating me this nicely.
"It is okay." I shyly answered and he smiled peacefully.
"So," he said, smirking.
"So we are late for school," I said and busted inside the car before he could prevent or move a muscle, I saw him laughing and getting in the car after me. The whole ride was full of fun, he wouldn't shut, singing and making me laugh at him. I have never seen this side of him, I had an idea that he was a totally different person from whoever he gets close to, so nice to see him opening up to me.
I was already late for the class so once the car stopped, I jumped out and began to run, but then his voice caught my attention.
"I will wait for you after school, I have something for you." he voiced, I turned around and saw him smiling my way. I had an idea about what the school had been talking about me, simply, all the girls were jealous.
"Hey!" Dina followed me, I had totally forgotten about her, I felt bad for her, but at the same time, I knew she was going to give me heat for dating Tucker.
"I had no balance." Before she could even ask me anything, I answered myself.
"Oh! So that means you are coming with us?" she excitingly asked, I was so happy that I forgot about what Tucker had told me.
"Of course!" I cheered, she predicted that I was overly happy, but didn't ask me anything, "Oh!" I suddenly recalled Tucker's words, I mean It's wrong to leave your boyfriend hanging like that, Oh my God! Calling my boyfriend was so exciting.
"What happened?" She questioned, I wanted to tell her about Tucker and myself, but she will be upset for so many reasons that I decided to stay silent.
"I have some work after school, Lauren has asked me to be home early." I excused, faking a sad face.
"Oh!" Dina's excitement faded, I will be honest, I did feel very bad, but It would not be justice to Tucker since I have made a commitment with him first.
"Maybe next time." I just wanted to make her feel better, she smiled. The new Giselle was a selfish bitch, but the old Giselle hadn't died yet. My eyes averted to Tucker's class, he was standing with his friends and I can tell that he wasn't very pleased after seeing me with Dina. I awkwardly looked away, not wanting to look in his eyes, he doesn't like me with Dina?
Gladly, the class started and this torture, of who dislikes who, ended. It was weird how things were more exciting than ever now. I kept smiling by myself, ignoring the negativity and even every person around me. After a hard long day, the bell finally rang. I rushed out of my class, not waiting for Dina to chase me.
I met Tucker in the parking, he was already in the car and I couldn't wait to know what he had for me.
I got inside the car and he began driving silently. For the first few minutes, I was nervously fidgeting with my fingers, making out countless excuses in my mind to avoid the conversation about Dina or The Orphans. I realized we weren't headed towards our home, the roads lead to the mountains, they say that the view from the mountains is the best view ever. I had also noticed some bags in the car, he had bought food.
The car came to a halt and he got out, holding the bags and opening the door for me. He made me follow him up the road for a few minutes, all silently, and then it came into my view, oh my God!
"Is this for me?" I exclaimed in joy, jumping up and down merrily.
"No, for my girlfriend Steven." Tucker dryly answered and rolled his eyes, he was mad. I sighed and followed him, he placed the food on the table and helped me get seated.
"Are you mad at me?" I asked, watching his face. He was like a little baby, his arms folded across his chest and his face looking away at the scenery.
"Nope!" he mumbled, "I have no right to be," he added, shrugging his shoulders.
"You don't like me hanging around with them?" I questioned, his happiness was important for me.
"I just don't like them." He muttered, breathing heavily through his nostrils, "I can't forget how they made a fool of me." He closed his eyes with pressure and pouted like a little kid.
"I will leave them for you." It happened suddenly, maybe to please him, I was ready to give up everything for his happiness.
"Really?" he veered and smiled, happiness could be seen from his eyes, though I regretted saying that since it was wrong to just abandon those who stood by my side when Tucker ignored my existence, but what would you do if your boyfriend had been in a nasty situation with your friend and he doesn't like a particular boy to be around you?
"Yes!" to please him more, I nodded.
"Thanks, I mean, I was just mad, you don't need to do that. I am just happy you chose me over everyone," he replied, making me breathe in relief. "You can hang out with them." he smiled and quickly unwrapped the food. It was weird how he was making sure of the littlest details in our relationship, which I have not noticed him in any relationship prior to ours.
