Chapter 34: Chapter 34
"Have fun," I mumbled, not even meaning it. He didn't look very pleased with himself after revealing his date. "By the way, who is she?" I turned around to ask him before walking away. I don't know why I was so burned to hear that he has a date even when I was clear in my head about who I like. Steven, looked down and shook his head, it felt like hurting me was not something he wanted to do.
"I am not going." He whispered into his mouth, not raising his eyes. Happiness from all over the world blossomed inside my chest, he looked cute.
"But you said you have a date." I was now being a b****, but just trying to bring him back to his irritating self.
"At my home, with my bed." He shrugged his shoulders, there was no way he was spending his time sleeping when there was a party he should be attending.
"Cool, then we are going together." I shrugged my shoulders too. He narrowed his eyes my way, why was it so easy to mess with him? It felt like I didn't fear him.
"Is that an order?" He placed his hands on his hips and deepened his stare playfully, see, it was so easy to make it up to him.
"Can you do anything if I say yes?" I raised my brow, not even caring about all the people staring at me.
"Nope," He shook his head and a smile appeared on his lips.
"Good then," I smiled back and we both stared into each other eye's while sharing smiles. "but what about Sid?" how can I forget about Dina? She had always been there for me when I was only present to ruin everything for her.
"Nothing, he needs to feel the pain she felt," Steven uttered, keeping his eyes on Dina, who was standing afar from us, waiting for me.
"But he did it for you," I stated, trying to be a genius.
"But why her? He needs to respect his relationship; he can't be breaking up with her for things she is not even responsible for." He was so confident talking and I couldn't make myself look away from his eyes. His gestures and eye movement was truly something else, perfect.
"So what's the plan?" I asked since he sounded so determined.
"Um, do we need a plan?" that's when the very pride in his voice faded away, he was not better than a fool, but a cute one though. I rolled my eyes at him and shook my head, telling him goodbye, I marched in the direction of Tucker's car since he was my ride back home.
I got inside and he was already present, his hands on the steering, waiting for me. He started the engine and remained silent for the next few minutes, it was the most awkward ride, even though I hate Ivory, but I wished she was there.
We weren't even near home when Tucker stopped the car all of a sudden. I looked around, wondering what the hell happened, but before I could ask him, he walked off the car, slamming the door harder and stepping to and fro in either nervousness or anger.
I stayed inside, not wanting to be the easy target of his anger, I kept myself calm even when my heart was beating louder than Monica's screams in bed. Woah! I was salty about Tucker's ex.
He did that for a moment and then sat in the car, was he expecting me to check up on him? I mean, I used to do that, but now I was a little more conscious about my self-esteem.
We reached home and I hopped off quickly to avoid an awkward encounter with him, which again left him in surprise because he followed me to the lounge in haste, but his steps halted when he saw Mr. Ben perched in the lounge, having lunch.
"How was your day Uncle Ben?" I asked him, cheered, and acting if I had no idea what was going on with Tucker.
"It was great, how are you doing?" He asked me and quickly eyed Tucker. He never liked Tucker to wander around me, he would always make sure that Ivory is at home when he is leaving me and Tucker alone.
"Great!" I passed him a smile and climbed the stairs to my room. Once inside, I exhaled out the fear. What was happening? Why was Tucker so angry? Did he hear me asking Steven to go to this party with me, but why would that bother him, since he knew Steven and I were friends. Nothing was making sense, his actions had started to get to me.
Night came, I had finished my homework, house chores, and now it was time to watch some TV, which I hardly watched, but since I was free, it was a good distraction.
I played a movie and laid on the couch, making sure Ben wasn't around since he never liked me in weird positions around Tucker.
My whole attention was on the TV screen before my eyes and there was someone standing behind me, I didn't acknowledge his presence at all until he cleared his throat. I veered around at him instantly, watching Tucker, standing with his arms crossed and looking at the TV or maybe pretending to watch TV.
I looked straight to the TV, not moving a muscle, even scared that he might be staring at me from behind.
He then slowly walked up to the front and stood there, looking at the TV, like he was absorbed in the movie. I gulped and straightened my posture, sitting decently.
He took a step back and silently perched on the couch, on my left side.
"Can we talk?" He whispered into his mouth, taking away my breaths. So many questions rushing into my brain, why would he want to talk to me and about what?
"Sure," I uttered, and he finally turned his face towards me to watch me in the eye, I felt like I forgot to breathe.
"So your friends are coming to the party, I saw you distributing tickets among them." He asked, looking straight in my eyes. It was hard to answer him while he was looking straight into my soul.
"Yeah! So who are you going with?" I asked and he shook his head, lowering his eyes in pain.
"I'm not going." He answered and lifted his head to watch my face.
"Why?" I inquired, he never misses a party. His broad shoulders were drowned; his posture was all messed up.
"I don't wanna go with anyone." He replied and I was kind of confused, why wouldn't he wanna go with anyone?
"Why? Monica would love to go with you." The petty person inside me spoke quickly, I wished to turn back the words, but it was too late for that.
"You want me to go with her?" He raised his brow and slightly, very slightly pulled his face closer to mine. I stared at his face and slightly pulled my body back, not so visibly. My heart was beating so fast like I've been running for miles, even though I have been running after him for a lifetime.
"Then who do you want to go with?" I questioned, mostly whispering in my mouth. My eyes kept wandering from his eyes to his lips, giving me shivers down my spine. He gulped and then scanned my whole face feature by feature.
"You!" He said seriously, no smirk or smile on his face. I gasped in front of him, the rise and fall of my chest due to sudden heaving breathing, giving him a clear view of my shock as well. Was he serious? I shook my head and laughed, trying to act like I got his joke.
"I'm serious Giselle!" He didn't move, the harshness in his voice shook me. The fake laugh faded off my lips as I stared deeply into his beautiful eyes. Tucker wanted to go with me, Tucker, the guy who I've loved since I don't even remember when, the guy who I will die to hear a compliment from, the guy who I couldn't even imagine dating someone else, was it a dream? Or maybe my fate has finally started to listen to my desires.
I bit my lip and then a thought crossed my mind, "damn what about Steven now?" I thought in my mind, but my eyes kept staring back in Tucker's eyes, I have to quickly decide what I wanna do.
