Chapter 12: Chapter 12
If I had to call a day worst, that was the day. The entire time our teacher was instructing us on how fishes reproduce, Sid kept hitting Dina's chair with his foot.
"I swear---" Dina aggressively muttered in her mouth. She was losing her patience and this guy was nowhere near finishing his arrogant action. Finally, after waiting for the torture to cease, the bell rang and I heard Dina, sighing in relief.
"Hey, you!" As soon as the teacher left, Dina turned around and screamed. Her outburst caught me off guard, I swirled around in jolt and watched Dina's back facing me.
"What is this rubbish?" Dina continued, I could sense her body radiating anger. Sid had his back resting on the chair and his legs stretched out. He slowly raised his eyes and instead of looking at Dina, he stared at me deadly.
"That is your friend I imagine." He replied, indirectly calling me rubbish. I lowered my eyes and brushed off his comment, that's the only thing I can do.
"You, you bother me again and I'll show you the worst me," Dina growled once he humiliated me. She was always aggressive about me and that was another main reason for my guilty conscience.
"Oh! I knew you guys were worst." He smirked, not moving a muscle. It was his composure that was upsetting everyone.
"You---," Dina growled, aiming her finger at Sid and glaring him to the end. Before she could go forward with her threat, Tucker rushed into the classroom and watched everything going on.
"Is he bothering you?" He yelled, bringing the attention of everyone. The silence covered everyone's lips as Tucker growled and glared at Sid, who was not even trembled at his presence.
"Let's go." Dina, in an attempt of avoiding a fight, tried to pull Tucker away, but nope, he didn't move at all.
"Yeah! Take your little chick and leave." Sid commented, pissing off everyone. Damn, it was getting out of hand and none of us knew how to avoid it.
"How dare you called me a chick." Dina, who was controlling Tucker before, launched a little ahead in the attempt of threatening Sid and groaned in rage. Tucker was all set to use his hands on that guy, whose main function was to rile us up.
"I called him the chick," Sid smirked, making us all open our mouths in shock. Tucker watched our faces for a minute and then rushed at Sid, but Dina came between them and stopped the war for a time being.
"I will kill him today." Tucker was trying hard to reach Sid while Sid, on the other hand, didn't make a motion. He was smiling and grinning and that's what was annoying every one of us.
"Do you always dream like this?" We all turned towards the door to look at the person entering the class. Steven, with his jacket on, wandered very slowly and crossed us to stand with Sid, who hasn't even left his seat yet.
"Lock, stay away from our matters." Tucker, who I assumed had a lifelong history with Steven, announced. Steven only rolled his eyes in reaction.
"Come lemme show you around." Steven slapped Sid's head, everything was creepy in his presence. This was the first time we were seeing Steven roaming in school, prior to the arrival of the orphans, he never really took interest in anything, but now he had his friends with him.
"Not before he apologizes to Dina first." Tucker interrupted, when all this was taking place, I stood silently as I knew if I speak, I will be in a big peril.
"Come on dude say sorry to Dino." Steven, slapped his head again, looking all serious but I saw what he did with her name.
"It is Dina." Dina stomped her foot on the floor and rolled her palms into tight fists.
"Say sorry to it is Dina." Steven, who wasn't smiling himself, caused everyone to burst out loudly with laughter, except for the four of us.
"Dude, don't try me," Tucker warned, Steven, tilted his head and smiled, finally. He would do this weird sexy smile, that was enough to take away breaths. "And you will pay if you did anything wrong again." Tucker pointed his finger at Sid this time.
"Okay." murmuring slowly, Steven pulled out a dollar and threw it on Dina's chair. "I paid, happy?" I know this guy was trolling but I have never seen him this interactive before. Maybe because his gang was here now.
"You," Tucker growled, taking a step forward.
"Yes, I paid." Steven was just annoying to talk with. Sid got up with a smile of triumph on his face and walked along with Steven, who, when Tucker and Dina began arguing together, winked at me. I blinked my eyes and looked away, did he just really wink at me?
"Don't argue with him again, lemme handle them." Tucker went on to tell Dina, who was raging like a wounded tigress.
"I hate the smirk on their faces." They set about walking away and I accompanied them. As we are walking towards the lockers, I saw two guys in a heated conversation.
"Guys," As they were walking ahead of me, I had to get their attention in order to talk to them.
"Yeah, Elle?" Dina was the first one to give up and turn around followed by Tucker.
"Is this heading towards a fight?" I pointed in the direction of the conflict, from the jacket of the one guy, we can tell he was from the orphans and the other one was our fellow.
"Oh hell!" Tucker muttered, he began running in their direction, but the two boys had already begun throwing hands at each other. The crowd gathered around them in no time, definitely, the orphans jumped in for their mate and vice versa.
"Dammit." Dina raised her brow in annoyance and I too sighed in disbelief. Why do these guys look for ways to start an issue? Tucker attempted to break up the fight, but there was a bystander that I picked out as our biology teacher and I instantly knew we are screwed.
"STOP THIS." he yelled and everyone went froze on their spots. "You all follow me to the hall." He called our class to follow him and we all did, worried in our hearts because we knew something bad was going to happen.
We all grabbed our seats together and the Orphans sat together.
"Why is it so hard for you guys to mix up?" The teacher yelled, he paced before us very uncomfortably. “I don't want an assignment.
" Dina mumbled in my ear, I giggled because the assignment was no big deal for me, I was happy to study at any time of the day.
"And it seems like you guys don't even wanna make things better, so now it's on me to fix everything." The teacher announced, something wicked must have crossed his mind.
The orphans were perched behind us, we, the regular students have stolen the front seats and left them to sit in the back. I slowly turned around to look at them, and every single one of them glared at me, except for Steven, who was looking straight, but the smirk appeared on his lips, he must know I was observing them. I hurriedly looked straight and gulped, I get it that he was friends with them, but he wasn't an orphan, and he should be sitting with us, the regulars, because we were his fellows too.
"So there will be a festival in our school by the end of this month and I will assign every one of you with a task." as soon as the teacher declared, everyone cheered merrily except for me of course. I hated events, he should have planned a test or an exam but a carnival? I frowned, how is it going to teach us a lesson?
"And, in one group, there will be two people, one of the regulars and one of the orphans. You guys have to work together as a team." Now that was the catch, the smiles on everyone's face faded away quickly. "And the orphans will decide who would they wanna work with." I gulped once this part was announced. My eyes jumped out in shock, this can't be happening. Sid has been waiting for this moment and now, thanks to our biology teacher, he got one.
"One by one, come to the stage and announce the name of the person you wanna be teamed up with." The teacher declared and the regulars died inside. The torment has begun, and they were calling names with a smirk on their faces. I was holding my breath till Steven Lock walked upstairs. Since he was wearing their jackets and it seemed like everyone obeyed him, he was considered an important part of the Orphans. He stood there with a smirk on his face and I can tell that he wanted to smile.
"Who do you pick Mr. Lock?" The teacher asked and Steven raised his head.
"He is so hot." I heard a girl from our class drooling over him.
"Giselle," Steven announced loudly, I didn't expect that. Frankly speaking, I thought Sid was going to pick me, but now that the devil himself called my name, I felt in hell. I looked up and found everyone staring at me, including Dina. No one saw that coming, obviously, he was the infamous mysterious punk, who doesn't talk to anyone and I was no one, literally no one to anyone.
"Okay." The teacher nodded and wrote our names together, I wanted to cry loudly because the smirk on his face wasn't normal, there was something wicked going on in his mind.
"No, I won't allow this." To my surprise, the Tucker sitting on Dina's left side yelled as he got up from his seat. Everyone gasped and Steven stopped pacing, straightening his back while he glared at Tucker. He hadn't even walked down from the stage when Tucker had aggressively interrupted. The teacher watched Tucker's face in bewilderment and then to me. Why were these two famous people fighting over me? I felt dead on my spot.
