Chapter 144: Chapter 144
Talia Rhodes was escorted up the abandoned building by Vincent Fletcher’s men.
Talia was acrophobic, her legs growing weaker with each step up.
This reinforced concrete building had no handrails on the stairs, and no safety measures upstairs. This was how Talia was forced to walk step by step with Vincent’s men.
Talia silently counted the floors in her heart. When they reached the 26th floor, the people in front stopped.
The men escorting Talia also came to a halt.
"What time is it?" Vincent Fletcher asked lazily.
"Boss, it’s 7:40," answered the man who had kidnapped Talia last night.
Talia didn’t know his name.
Upon hearing the answer, Vincent raised his brows slightly and turned his gaze to Talia. "Do you think... Adrian Jennings would really come to die for you alone?"
Talia pressed her lips together and lowered her gaze.
"Scared?" Vincent laughed. "Don’t worry, if you’re really that reluctant to leave him, I can make sure you two become a pair of fugitive lovers."
Talia continued to keep her head down, saying nothing.
Vincent scoffed, feeling a bit bored at Talia’s silence, an impatience rising in his eyes.
"I’m talking to you, can’t you hear?" Vincent suddenly grabbed Talia’s arm and shoved her roughly forward.
Caught off guard, Talia stumbled, losing her balance, staggering a few steps before falling to the ground.
Her hands were tied, unable to aid her balance, and she couldn’t use them to break her fall.
Talia fell directly to the ground, her knees hitting first. The piercing pain turned her complexion white, her facial features twisted with pain. Immediately following, her upper body hit the ground, her face going pale with pain, yet she didn’t scream, only biting her lip to endure it.
With this fall, Talia ended up at the edge of the building. Seeing the view before her, fear swelled within her, causing her whole body to tremble.
She lay there at the edge of the abandoned building, looking down from the 26th floor. Her fear of heights made her vision blur with darkness. Talia simply closed her eyes.
"Mute?" Vincent was amused at the woman’s continued silence.
The man suddenly kicked over a nearby metal bucket. Newest update provıded by 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹·𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑒·𝗇𝗲𝘁
The sound of the bucket rolling and clattering on the concrete was jarring and abrupt.
Vincent’s men all held their breath, not daring to make a sound.
Talia frowned, unable to understand why the man before her was so capricious and unpredictable.
Just moments ago, he had been speaking downstairs with an innocent smile, looking to be in good spirits. Yet now, he was suddenly irritable, manic, like a mad dog.
"Alright, since you won’t speak, I’ll find a way to make you talk," Vincent’s voice was menacing, his eyes fixed on Talia as he suddenly laughed coldly.
"You say..." Vincent took slow steps toward Talia.
He looked at her like she was prey, a mischievous smile on his lips, his gaze filled with aggression, "How would Adrian Jennings feel if he saw you being assaulted, hmm?"
Upon hearing this, Talia shuddered, her eyes snapping open, filled with a mixture of fear, shock, and disgust, her face growing even paler.
Vincent seemed pleased by her change in expression, his smile growing deeper.
"Mute, are you? Then I’ll make you scream," Vincent said with a grin.
Talia trembled with tension, reluctantly speaking, "No... don’t..."
"Don’t?" Vincent’s laugh carried an indescribably sinister tone, chilling the spine, "Too late."
"I told Adrian Jennings to come alone to exchange himself for you, but I never promised not to do anything to you."
Vincent stood before Talia, looking down at her arrogantly like she was an ant at his mercy.
"You’re indeed alluring, but sadly, you’re just a worn-out shoe after being played by Adrian Jennings. I’m a man who despises played toys," Vincent taunted Talia casually.
Talia lowered her eyes, hiding the hatred and fury within them.
Vincent chuckled, "In that case, I’ll let my brothers enjoy you."
No sooner had the words left his mouth than a wave of delight surged through Vincent’s men, barely able to contain themselves with excitement.
This woman was stunning, and earlier they had already found her enticing, though they didn’t dare show it. Now, hearing their boss say this, they eagerly eyed Talia, their gaze unabashedly filled with desire.
Eric Donovan stood aside, his head lowered, never glancing over.
He wasn’t interested in such matters.
Yet, considering the ordeal the woman was about to face, a flicker of sympathy appeared in Eric’s eyes, barely detectable.
Vincent was typically known for treating women with tenderness; his mistresses were well-cared for.
But with Talia, because she was Adrian Jennings’ woman, Vincent redirected his hatred for Adrian onto Talia.
Honestly, Eric, who had followed Vincent for many years, had never seen him be this cruel to a woman before.
The thought of letting his men defile Talia was something Eric hadn’t expected.
"Vincent Fletcher!" At the moment directly following Vincent’s suggestion to let his brothers enjoy her, Talia suddenly shouted his full name through gritted teeth, her voice filled with boundless hatred and surging anger.
The woman glared at Vincent with the intensity of someone facing a mortal enemy, her eyes filled with a longing to tear him to pieces.
"Oh, not mute anymore?"
Faced with her fury, Vincent was indifferent, his smile growing broader. He squinted and said to Talia, "What? Don’t like it? Having so many take turns with you doesn’t appeal?"
"Brute! Beast!" Talia snarled through clenched teeth.
The more intense her reaction, the better Vincent felt.
"What are you standing around for? Go on!" Vincent tilted his chin toward his men behind him, signaling them to step forward and assault the girl.
Eric Donovan tensed, quickly glancing up.
This small motion caught Vincent’s attention.
Vincent looked at him with a half-smile, "What, do you want a turn too?"
Before Eric could reply, Vincent laughed again, "This woman will be dirty soon. I’ll find you a clean one later."
Eric lowered his gaze, "Boss, that’s not what I meant."
Vincent gave a nonchalant chuckle, speaking with an offhand tone, "Just right, you record a video for them. I’m quite curious about how Adrian Jennings will react seeing his woman defiled. Hahaha..."
