Chapter 31: Chapter 31

"Valerie?", Liam's eyes widened at my state.

"P-Please I have nowhere else to go", I stuttered from the cold.

"Oh my God, what happened to you? Come in", he said letting me in and helping me with my suitcase.

He guided me to the living room. "Wait here, I'll get you a towel and blanket", he said leaving me there.

I was still shivering though the room was warm. My hands were around my body until Liam came back with a towel and blanket in his hands.

"Thanks", I mumbled as I took the towel and dried myself. I put away the towel and I felt something wrapped around me. I turned my head to see that it was Liam who put the blanket on me. His hands were still on my shoulder.

I met his eyes and they were full of concern. We stared like that for a minute before he spoke. "I'll go make you tea. You're cold and you need something to warm your body",  he said taking this hands away.

I nodded and sat on the couch with the blanket still wrapped around my body. I stared at the table in front of me, thinking if it was a mistake coming to Liam. But I didn't have a choice. He was the only person I knew who'd help me and the way when he looked at me, I knew he still had feelings for me.

And that was what I thought about. I didn't want to mislead him thinking that I was coming here because I wanted him. Gosh, what should I do?

"Here", I was snapped out of my thoughts when Liam came back, handed me the tea.

"Thanks", I softly said as I took a sip of the warm liquid. He took a sit beside me, watching every move I made.

I drank almost half or the cup and I felt more relaxed. I put the cup on the table and wrapped myself again with the blanket.

"What happen, Val?", Liam asked.

I knew I had to tell him anyway. He helped me and telling him the truth was the only thing I could do right now.

"I uh..", I trailed, suddenly felt coward to speak. "Dani kicked me out", I whispered.

His eyes widen. "What?", he exclaimed. "Why did she do that?"

Then I cried again, remembering what James did to me. Liam seemed to be surprised with my sudden crying and he pulled me closer in a hug. "Sshh, it's okay. You don't have to tell me now", he said in soothing voice.

"No, I want to", I mumbled with my tears still flowing.

I pulled away after I calmed down then I told him everything, didn't leave any details. I even showed him the bruise on my neck when James bit me. When I finished telling him, his jaw was clenched and his eyes looked like he wanted to hit something.

"That asshole harassed you and you got to pay the price?", he was on his feet as he paced the room, he rubbed his face with one hand then looked at me.

"And she just believed him?", he let out a scoff. "I'm going to kick his ass now", he said grabbing his keys.

"Liam, no", I said stopping him. "He's not worth it"

"He almost raped you, Valerie and Dani need to be knocked out of her senses. I won't let them treat you like some dirt", he said. "Especially the guy. He can't easily get away from this"

"Please, Liam. Just stay with me here. I don't want to be alone", I begged him.

His eyes softened then putting back this keys. "Alright. I'll stay here with you", he said hugging me. I hugged him back.

He slightly pulled away and stared into my eyes then my lips. His one hand made a way to my lower lip.

"I need to rest", I said snapping his eyes away from my lips.

"Y-Yeah. Of course. You can sleep in my room", he scratched his neck.

I shook my head. "It's fine. I can take the couch", he helped me so much. I couldn't take his bed as well.

"No, Val. Just take my room. I can sleep at Julian's. He's at New York for business trip and won't be back until next week", he said.

"OK", I answered.

He helped me take the suitcase to his room and I followed him behind like a lost puppy. He opened the door and put the suitcase near the bed. I'd been to his place many times but I never went inside his room. It was like a typical boy's room, a little unorganized but nice.

"There's the bathroom", he said pointed a door near the closet. I nodded as I looked around.

"So, I'll leave you to wash up", he said after a silence.

I nodded and he walked out the room.

"Liam", I called him out before he shut the door.

"Yeah?"

"Thanks for everything", I said and he smiled. "Anything for you, Val", he said before closing the door behind him.

After he left, I grabbed a large sweater and a sweatpants then went inside the bathroom. I turned on the shower first, waiting for it to warm as I undressed my wet clothes. Once I was naked, I directly stood under the warm water. I sighed as I washed my body and hair with Liam's shower gel and shampoo because I forgot to take mine from the suitcase. He wouldn't mind.

I turned off the shower and quickly grab a towel to dry my body. I was still cold so I dried my hair faster and got changed into my clothes. The sweater that I was wearing was thick but still, I shivered like crazy.

I got out of the bathroom and took out a hairdryer to dry my hair properly and used the heat to warm me. I plugged the device and when it was on, I dried my still wet hair and sometimes I let it blow near my cold hands.

When I felt my hair had dried enough, I plugged it out and directly went to the bed. My eyes were started to shut and before I knew it, I had drifted off to sleep.

The next day when I woke up, I felt like crap. I had a fever and headache. I couldn't even get up to the bathroom because of my pounding head.

I stayed on the bed with pillow covering my pounding head. Please, just make it stop. Then I heard the door opened and I knew if must be Liam.

"Val", he said softly as he shook my body lightly.

I groaned as I grabbed the blanket to cover my face as well.

"Val, it's 2 in the afternoon. You need to eat something", he said still shaking me.

My eyes widened. I had slept that long? I quickly sat up then regretted it because of my headache. Liam put a hand on may forehead and his eyes widened in concern.

"You have a fever", he said and I nodded. "And a headache", I mumbled.

"I'll go get the medicine. But before that, you need to eat something", he said standing up bit I shook my head. "I just want to sleep", I whined.

"You can go to sleep, after you eat and take the medicine", he said sternly. "I'll go get you some food", he said. Before I could protest, he was already out of the room.

I sighed and laid myself on the bed, drifting off to sleep again. I was woken up by Liam again now with a bowl of soup and a medicine for me to eat.

He pulled a chair near the bed and sat on it with the soup in his hand. He took a spoon full of the soup near my face, signalling for me to open my mouth.

"Liam you don't have to.. "

"You need to eat, Val", he said, his eyes begging me. I surrendered and ate the soup.

He still fed me until I couldn't eat anymore. "I'm full", I said shaking my head.

He put the bowl away and handed me a paracetamol with a glass of water. I put the pill in my mouth and swallow it with the water.

"Go to sleep, OK? I'll wake you up again for dinner", he said after handing him the water. I nodded, didn't have any energy to reply as I went to sleep.

Few hours later, I was woken up by sounds of arguing. I opened my eyes and looked out of the window, realizing it was already dark.

The sound was getting louder and louder then I realized that they were standing outside of the room.

"You can't just take her away, she's sleeping sick right now", I heard Liam's voice.

Then I heard another voice that I didn't expect to hear. "Another reason why she can't stay here. I can take care of her myself", Sean replied.

"You? Take care of her? Then where were you last night when she got kicked out, huh?", Liam almost shouted.

"What?", Sean's voice coming out softer. "What do you mean she got kicked out?"

"Dani's boyfriend, James kissed Valerie without her consent and Dani walked in when he did it. Dani thought it was Valerie who kissed him", Liam explained.

Then it was silence. I could picture Sean standing there with his hands in fists and his jaw clenched.

"I'm taking her with me", I heard Sean said then the door was wide open and my half opened eyes turned to the door, meeting his gaze.

"Hey, you can't do that", Liam said following him behind. "Hey!", Liam shouted but Sean ignored him.

Sean kneeled beside the bed as he caressed my cheek. "Baby, I'm coming to get you out of here", his eyes fulled with worry and guilt.

"She needs to rest, dude. You can't take her", Liam exclaimed.

Sean turned his head to Liam then walked slowly, standing tall in front of him but Liam wasn't scared as he gave a death glare towards Sean.

"You don't tell me what to do", Sean's voice sounded dangerous.

"And I'm not afraid of you", Liam spat.

Sean let out a humorless laugh then he pinned Liam against a wall, holding him by the collar.

"Sean, stop", my voice was shaky and be froze. "Please, let him go. I'll go with you", I said. He turned slightly to look at me and his eyes softened.

"Please", I pleaded.

He turned back to Liam scowling then let him drop on the floor. Sean was back beside me, taking out his cell phone and pressed it against his ear, with his free hand caressing my cheek.

"Hunter, you can go up now", he said before ending the call.

"What's Hunter doing?", I asked feeling worried.

"Sshh. Nothing for you to worry about", Sean smiled softly kissing my cheek.

Later, Hunter was coming through the door and Liam seemed taken back by his sudden appearance. "Who is this dude?", he asked eyeing Hunter up and down but Sean ignored him.

"Hunter, get the suitcase", Sean commanded and Hunter nodded, doing what he was asked.

"She's not going anywhere with you", Liam said deadpanned.

Sean closed his eyes as he pinched the bridge of his nose then turned to Liam. "Look, you're starting to piss me off. She is going with me! And there's nothing that you can do to stop me. So help me God, just shut the fuck up and let my guy to do his job or I'm going to kill you", Sean's voice boomed the room and I cringed.

This shut Liam up and let Hunter grabbimg my suitcase and my other small bag. When he was done, Sean got on his foot then picked me up like I weight nothing, my hands were around his neck. I could see Liam wanted to protest but he held it, probably didn't want to piss Sean more but his eyes told me everything.

I mouthed 'sorry' to Liam and I could see hurt from his eyes before I left the room. My hands tightened around Sean's neck and he placed kisses to my cheek, forehead and lips to calm me.

We got to the car and Sean placed me at the backseat before he got in himself. Hunter then turned on the engine and the car drove away. I placed my head on Sean's shoulder as he put an arm around me and lingered his lips on top of my head

I watched as we drove farther from Liam's apartment until I couldn't see it anymore.
