Chapter 10: Chapter 10

"Val", I heard Dani's voice calling me from behind. I turned around and saw her running towards me. She stopped to take a breath before start talking.

"We are going to a club tonight", her eyes showed excitement.

"A club?", I asked. I rarely went to such places because I hated noisy places.

"Yeah. James and his friends are going to the club tonight and I want to go too. Since I'm the only girl, so I ask you. Please?", she gave me her puppy dog face.

I didn't want to go but at the same time, I didn't want to hurt Dani's feelings. And there was James and his friends. They all kind of creeped me out.

"But I have work until 6", I reasoned with her.

"Then we'll go after that. I'll tell James we'll be late", she insisted. I thought about it for a while and made my decision.

"Okay", I mumbled. Her eyes suddenly light up and engulfed me in a hug.

"Thank you, Val. You're the best", she said then went to where she came.

Oh well. May God bless me tonight.

My shift was over for today and I had to get home today to get ready. I texted Sean earlier that I'd be having dinner with Dani and couldn't hang out tonight. I didn't tell him about me going to the club. I just didn't want him to think less about me.

Once I got home, Dani instantly dragged me into her room. I got showered first and when I got out, Dani already finished putting on her dress which was a tight red dress that came to mid-thigh and was a bit revealing in the chest part.

She helped me a little with my makeup which I told her that I only needed mascara and eyeliner. She even picked a dress for me but it was a bit short to my liking. So I decided to wear one of my dresses. It was a black off-the-shoulder strap dress.

After we got dressed, we went downstairs to get a cab. The ride was short fortunately because it wasn't that far. Dani paid the driver and we got out of the cab.

Once we were inside the club, I couldn't help but covered my ears with my hands. The loud music blasted through the speaker making my ears hurt.

I kept holding on to Dani's hand, afraid that I lost her. We'd been here less than five minutes and I wanted to go home already. I kept locking hands with Dani who was still searching for her boyfriend.

After a like eternity, we finally found them. James and his friends were sitting at one of the tables drinking. Some of them seemed wasted already. Disgusting.

Dani instantly let go of my hand and ran towards James, kissing him passionately before sitting on his lap. I just stood there, didn't know what to do.

"Hey, Val. Nice to see you", James said to me while his hand roaming at Dani's back.

"Nice to see you too", I said, still standing awkwardly.

"Come have a seat, Val", Dani pointed at one of the empty chairs surrounded by the guys. All their eyes turned to me, maybe hoping I'd sat there. I slowly made my way to the empty chair and sat uncomfortably.

"What do you want to go drink, babe?", one of the guys said as he put an arm around my shoulder which made me tense.

"I-I don't drink. Sorry", I said as I pulled away from him.

"How about some joint?", the other one offered me one in front of my face but I just shook my head no.

"So what do you want to do?", he asked again with a smirk.

I turned to look at Dani for help but she was too busy sucking faces with James made me upset a little. I suddenly got up making the guys looked at me confused.

"Hey, where are you going?", one of them called but I didn't respond and just walked away to the bar. I think I needed a drink after all.

I ordered a bottle of beer and when the bartender handed me one, I instantly gulped it all making people around me looked surprised. Even I was surprised. Some guys came to me asking for a dance but I turned them all. I was so not in the mood.

When I was on my third beer, a hand stopped me before I could take a sip. "You drink too much, don't you think?", he whispered in my ear.

My eyes widen at the familiar voice and I instantly turned to look at him. He was wearing a tight shirt that fit perfectly to his body along with a black leather jacket. My face was red in embarrassment.

"W-what are you doing here?", I asked almost in a whisper.

"What are you doing here?", he repeated my question.

"I ask you first", I exclaimed and he just smirked.

"Well, first of all, this is my club. So I have a good reason to be here. How about you?"

Shit. This is his club? Then I remembered he told me about him having some nightclubs in town.

"Well?", he asked again.

"Dani dragged me here to meet her boyfriend and her friends but I ditched them", I said.

"Really? And where are they now?", he asked looking around.

"I don't know. Probably smoking some joint or something. I don't care", I said nonchalantly while sipping my beer.

"Come on, let's go", he suddenly took my hand.

"Go? Go where?", I asked him confused. But he didn't answer and kept dragging me.

He took me upstairs and some men looked curiously at me but Sean didn't seem to notice. I put my head down to avoid their stares. He stopped at a door that had a passcode in it. He pressed some numbers then the door opened.

I gasped a little when I looked inside. The decoration looked expensive and luxurious. There was a big couch, a minibar, and a big screen showing all the angles of the club.

"Where are we?", I asked though I secretly knew the answer.

"My office. And this is where I see what everyone's doing", he said pointing to the big screen.

He was right. You couldn't hide in here. I could even see where Dani and her friends were. She and James were still sucking their faces and I doubt she realized I was gone. While the rest of the guys also made out with some chicks or busy smoking joints.

"That's Dani", I pointed to the screen.

When Sean saw where I was pointing, he didn't look happy.

"Those are your friends?", he asked sounded surprised.

"Well, actually, Dani is my only friend so... ", I trailed.

"Good. Because I don't want you to go near guys like them", he said sternly.

I didn't know what to respond to that so I just kept quiet and suddenly the air became so tense and awkward making me shift uncomfortably. Sean seemed to notice my awkwardness and decided to break the tension.

"Do you want to eat or drink anything?", he asked softly.

"Yeah. Some food is great", I said shyly.

"OK. Just wait here. I'll be back", he said heading toward the door. Leaving me alone in his office.

I practically didn't have anything to do so I just stared at the large screen watching what was everyone doing. After a few minutes of staring at the screen, I noticed that there were two big guys headed to Dani's table. I didn't know what was going on but I saw James said something then suddenly one of the big guys punched him straight to his face. The rest of James' friends didn't do anything and just looked at those big guys with wide eyes. The next thing that happened was they were all went out of the club.

I saw Dani looked around before she left with the guys, probably just noticed I was gone. My phone buzzed and I knew instantly who it was.

Dani just texted me where the hell I was. I ignored her text and just sat there waiting for Sean to come back.

After a few minutes, I heard the door opened and closed. I turned around and saw it was Sean holding a bottle of wine and two empty glasses.

"Sorry if that took a while. You don't mind if we're having pizza, right? My chef is sick today so he couldn't bring us food", he said apologetically.

"Pizza's great", I smiled widely. I loved pizza. I mean who doesn't?

"Great", he showed his pearly whites.

He then poured some wine into the glasses and handed one to me.

"Thanks", I mumbled. I gulped the whole liquid as I did with the beer earlier and I knew Sean was staring at me like I grew two heads.

"Rough day?", he asked amused.

"Rough days, weeks, months I don't know", I said taking the bottle, needed a refill but Sean quickly grabbed it from my hand.

"And that's the last time you'll be drinking tonight", he said taking the bottle away.

I pouted and crossed my arms which I usually did when I was upset and he just laughed.

"You're so cute", he still laughed.

"I'm not cute", I groaned.

When he was about to say something, there was a knock on the door. Sean quickly stood up while I still sat on the couch crossing my arms.

"Sir, your order is here", I heard a guy's voice once Sean opened the door.

"Thanks, Harry", I heard Sean's voice before closing their door.

He put the pizzas on the table and opened one of the boxes making the room filled with the delicious smell. I instantly sat up and took one, eating it like I hadn't eaten for days.

I looked at Sean and he just staring at me. I slowly swallowed my food, suddenly feeling insecure.

"Sorry", I said.

"What are you sorry for?", he asked amused.

"I know I'm a messy eater so I'll eat quietly now", I said slowly. He was probably disgusted by my eating habit.

"Well, I don't mind though. Please just eat", he sounded genuine.

I muttered thanks and continued eating quietly.
